Once upon a time, when the world was new and aves and accipiters first appeared, there was a nest. The nest once housed a Roc, a legendary ave, or bird, that was large and cool. But the nest was inhabited by beings known as the Council Of The Roc. These beings were guardians and saved the nest for when the mother Roc would come back to the nest to lay it's eggs, for the Roc had flown away many years ago and had not come back.

Now....many, many months have passed since the dawn of the nest. The Lord, the leader, Marlin Beta has been on the throne since then.........



ACT 1
Scene 1

The tree branches and the templish nest gleams...

Lord Marlin: Sigh....the day has started. Perhaps the Roc's nest shall turn into something great one day. The council will have to meet to discuss matters.

Beyonder, a smaller class of The council and messenger for Lord Marlin, walks in

Beyonder: Lord Marlin, permission to speak freely?

Lord Marlin: You may of course. I don't favor that you ask me that all the time. You don't have to say it.

Beyonder: I'm your servant Lord! I appreciate serving you. It is an honor. I don't wish to dishonor you by just speaking simply.

Lord Marlin: Very well. Speak that way if that is what you want. Now, to business. What is it that you want?

Beyonder: I have gathered information. Sadly, it's not good stuff.

Lord Marlin: What do you mean?

Beyonder: You wish to make the nest better?

Lord Marlin: Why yes as a matter of fact. In a matter of speaking, the Noble Sol Adept Jaken and I have just completed the nest's new look. I feel it brings change. I give much credit to Jaken. Tell him that will you?

Beyonder: Of course my Lord. But now is not the time. Much of your ideas will have to wait. I have recieved......disturbing news.

Marlin: Say it?

Beyonder: You have a most respected friend do you not? He is...I presume the Duke Of Drifts? Maximillion?

Lord Marlin: Ahh...yes! Max! The Duke Of Drifts! Perhaps the most respected and liked man in this whole Nest. He is not of the council but he is still a great friend of mine. Yes his poetry knows no bounds. No one can match it. He--

Beyonder: I'm afraid, (dark look) that Max has been acting very odd lately. He was walking down the hall yesterday. I came across the side of the other hall and he came the opposite. I attempted to say hello when he gave me a terrible look. And he called me a.....what was it? Ahh yes! A nerd!

Lord Marlin: A nerd?

Beyonder: Yes my lord, a nerd.

Marlin bursts out laughing

Lord Marlin: Beyonder! Be calm! It is just one of Max's pranks! Nothing he says is true! Most of it a jest! You mustn't take in any knowledge he gives you.

Beyonder: I assure my lord, he was not joking. He had not the same expression he always had.

Lord Marlin: Peace Beyonder! You've only been here for a short time. You do not understand Max's personality. I assure you it's only a playful jest.

Beyonder: I sincerely hope so my Lord. My instincts go against your beliefs.

Lord Marlin: Beyonder, if you're so worried, why don't you consult with our Onimagus, SuicuneSol?

Beyonder: Suicune?

Lord Marlin: Yes Suicune. I think his judgement is pretty good. He's our magus!

Beyonder: Yes. You're right I realize. I respect Suicune much. I'll go talk with him. by the way, where is he?

Lord Marlin: I believe he's in the lookout, writing his spells. He's always writing that Suicune. Always alone in the lookout. Never read his work though.

Beyonder: I will seem him. Good day my Lord.

Lord Marlin: Good Day Beyonder. Thank you for consulting with me on your problem. I know Max better then anybody.

Beyonder seeks out the guidance of SuicuneSol, who lies in his quarters in the north nest.

Beyonder: Hmm...perhaps talking to SuicuneSol was a bad idea. I mean, he can't possibly help me could he? Well, I'm here now. I guess I'll knock anyway.

Beyonder knocks

Beyonder knocks: Hello! Suicune! Could you be here!

SuicuneSol: Ahh...!! Who could you be? Beyonder! Is that you!

Beyonder: It is. Suicune, these quarters are so very dim. How can you write in this environment!

SuicuneSol: I'm not writing right now. I'm testing out this torch spell I just created. Working like a charm it seems. So, what brings you here?

Beyonder: I feel a disturbance. Max, the Duke Of Drifts, he was mean to me yesterday. I don't feel it is a joke.

SuicuneSol: Chances are, it is a joke. You should never take anything Max says seriously. Remember that now.

Beyonder: But he called me a nerd!

SuicuneSol: A nerd eh? Sounds like Max to me. He was never fond of newbies. Give him time. He'll get used to you.

Beyonder: Geez...Lord said the same things. You're not much help.

SuicuneSol: Maybe we are. You just don't want to accept our opinions. Anyway, enough of that. I have called Noble Guardians Cloud and Jaken Veina to help me execute yet another beacon light to entrance the Roc back to this nest. It seems I'll never call a Roc back to the nest. The nest is dying. :sad:

Beyonder: You'll call one one day. I know it.

Cloud and Jaken enter

Jaken: Hi SuicuneSol! How have you been doing!

Cloud: So, what did you want us for?

SuicuneSol: I'm casting a spell to bring the legendary Roc back to the nest. I need you two to hold these items for me.

Cloud: Question. Haven't you tried to do this at least a hundred times before? You've never succeeded you know.

SuicuneSol: -_- I'm getting there Cloud......So just give me time.

Jaken: Ok Suicune! I'm ready! The Roc's feather is in the bowl! Cloud, are you ready to drop the match in?

Cloud: Almost got it lit! Got it! Hmm....a tad bit of the feather is burned. Never mind though. Ok Suicune! At the count of 3! 1.....2......

Beyonder: Is this dangerous?

Echoes of footsteps in the linoleum floor. Braveknight3000 walk to stage.

BraveKnight3000: Lord Marlin! You are well? Writing the Fifth Age Of Man I see.

Lord Marlin: Ah! BraveKnight3000! My trusted Knight Noble Of The Roc! I am well, thank you. And you?

BraveKnight3000: Not very good my Lord. I've had a day of hardships. Not sure I like it.

Lord Marlin: What is the problem? Ahh..come! We'll take a walk in the branches of this tree! The sunsets here are beautiful, and we shall speak of your worry.

Lord Marlin: Nevermind it. The nest was built to last long. Over 2 years! Anyway, what is your worry.

BraveKnight3000: Lord, you already know, I'm a noble of this nest. And so are a small band of others.

Lord Marlin: Right. Remember? I made you, Jaken Veina, Lor, and Cloud nobles of this nest. I trusted you four to guard and protect the nest against foreign invaders and destroyers. I chose correct. You're doing very well. Last week I think a Sparrow attempted to take this nest as it's own. You fought it off well. Thank you.

Braveknight3000: You're Welcome. But that's not my problem. It's about.....Lor.

Lord Marlin: Lor? What about Lor?

BraveKnight3000: Well...you see. Lor hasn't been seen around too much lately. He hasn't even been at his post lately. I even checked at his quarters, and he was absent. Then, just recently, I saw him. I attempted to say hi but then he quickly retracted into a room. And I couldn't find him at all. It was like he was avoiding me.

Lord Marlin: Lor is not shy. He's a very intelligent young man. He was one of my first attenders at this nest. I trust him and I would allow my life to be taken into his hands.

BraveKnight3000: That's the thing! Lor is acting unlike himself! I don't know what's happening! Something is definitely going on!

Lord Marlin: ...I trust Lor.

BraveKnight3000: I'm not saying I don't trust him! I'm just saying he's hiding something. I know it. Cloud knows it. Jaken too.

Lord Marlin: I don't believe Lor has any reason to hide anything. But......if you truly think he is.....this is not an order...but if you truly think he is, keep an eye out for him.

BraveKnight3000: Ahh! Look! It's our friend Alex The Evil!

Lord Marlin: Nice to see you Alex! Are you well?

BraveKnight3000: Oh My Sickly Chicken Pies! She's got a dagger! And she took it out of her sock! All the more potent! Lord stay behind! I've gotter!

Lord Marlin: BraveKnight, I can't believe she would do something like this. Please, just try to knock her out. Don't kill her, however evil she may be.

BraveKnight3000: We'll just have to wait and see.

Alex The Evil: Then you die first Mr. Nerdy Knight!

BraveKnight3000: Our swords clash! I will win!

Alex The Evil: Nerd Knight! I will stab you and your puny nest! The nest is a stupid thingy! Why would you want to guard the whole thing for the rest of your life! Join me and my master! Then, we shall kill Marlin and his petty friends!

BraveKnight3000: NO!!! You betrayer!

Alex The Evil: See? Marlin's already got your mind enslaved. He's using you so he can be leader and make you guard a stupid nest and waste your life!

Lord Marlin: That is not true! The nest is something sacred! We have honor in saving it!

BraveKnight3000: Ye...yeah! We have....honor.

Alex The Evil: My dagger has now sliced through your armored arm. You are bleeding! Now I will finish you off!

BraveKnight3000: Not a chance Alex! My sword blocks your dagger and---

Lord Marlin:---My suddenly drawn rapier that I was ready draw the whole time slices your leg!

Alex The Evil: Ahh!! My leg is bleeding! Grr....this is definitely not the end. We'll meet again nerds!! Especially you Lord Marlin! My master will not be pleased but at least I cut you BraveNerd no thousand!

Alex The Evil jumps away in a flash of smoke

Lord Marlin: I..can't believe this. There are traitors in our midst.

BraveKnight3000: We must inform the council. And everyone else.

Lord Marlin: Yes we must. SuicuneSol, and the nobles. Oh and BraveKnight?

BraveKnight3000: Yes what is it my Lord?

Lord Marlin: You do know of my trusted friend Silver don't you?

BraveKnight3000: I think so. She's the young, crazy teenager girl that lives in the village at the foot of this tree right?

Lord Marlin: Yes...although I wouldn't describe her that way. Anyway, I need to speak to her. Send an invitation to her and tell her that I want to talk to her. Max too.

BraveKnight3000: ****!! I can't believe Beyonder gave me the wrong directions! He said Silver's mansion was right....here. But there is only this orchard wall! Wait! Perhaps Silver's house is right beyond this wall! Perhaps I should climb the vines.

BraveKnight3000: **** it all!! This plant is poison ivy! This is surely not my day. I'll have to get Suicune to make the medicine for these soon to be rashes.
