Well, I've done all three Kishuna chapters and seen the 'very different' ending, and it... didn't seem like a hugely different ending. I thought I might have failed somewhere and gotten the 'only slightly different' ending until I checked and confirmed that only the hardest one gives the ending screen with Nergal and the dragon. That... didn't really seem to have been explained even by the Kishuna chapters, though. Was Ninian and Nils' dad, in that flashback, Nergal? (Is there anything else that would tie it all together?) Does that mean Nergal was a dragon, or... married to one, but then he forgot? Before he even went evil? How would he have survived until he met Athos if he hadn't been using quintessence yet, why would he not have known about the dragons' arts until Arcadia...? Did he transfer his soul to Kishuna or something, and forget all about it? After six playthroughs, I'm not sure trying again would turn up any missed clues, so... Huh? '_'

Wah?! I didn't know there were alternate endings! I once tried the Kishuna chapters, but they were much too difficult!

GAH! So many spoilers! I'm going to try and grab a hold of Fire Emblem again!

yep I am as well, man I have heard about this game... I know its old but its seems worth a try (Altern-endings) oh and sol try it on a emulator it much better and goes faster lol.
