Title: coolest character

mia7071 - July 12, 2003 05:31 AM (GMT)
i would have more characters, but not enough room

Rainer1 - July 12, 2003 05:34 AM (GMT)
Alex for sure. He can Teleport and he is the most powerful Mercury Adept.

Marlin ßeta - July 12, 2003 05:52 PM (GMT)
Alex is cool and all, because he's the main bad guy of the series, but I like Garet because he always talks before he thinks. Personally, I think Garet is much more humorous than Kraden. Kraden is too intellectual to be as funny as Brutish Garet.

garet - July 13, 2003 12:46 AM (GMT)
i like jenna why because it combined healing and powerful moves

Evil Bob - August 19, 2003 09:51 PM (GMT)
I like Ivan. He has cool attacks, and if you move the djinn around so that he has 4 Venus djinn and 3 Mercury djinn he can be as good a healer as Mia.

I think so :)

Don`t kill me for my posts, because I am not English ;)

windchild - November 5, 2003 03:39 PM (GMT)
completely ivan. maybe sheba, but more personally ivan. he's a wind adept with a mysterious past. ok, sheba too. i swear those two have gotta be siblings. i've been convinced since i first saw sheba.

Marlin ßeta - November 6, 2003 05:55 PM (GMT)
No, no. Hamma and Ivan are siblings. Sheba is 100% mystery. Lets leave it at that.

mercurymaster345 - November 9, 2003 11:13 PM (GMT)
piers is the best because he has healing, attack, and defense spells plus shade who comes in handy when you do the sidequests :D

i just wanna say alex isn't really the main bad guy, cuz hes really not on a definite side. he mysterious, and how do i say it:cool i mean cmon u gotta admit it

by the way can admin make me a water master? like marlin is a fire master like that

Lor - November 10, 2003 08:31 PM (GMT)
yeah ivan and sheba are not siblings. sheba fell from the sky for what could be 1 of 3 reasons. 1) she was pushed off a flying something 2)she jumped off a flying something, or 3) because her parents knew she had a special fate and let her go.
thats my opinion anyway, it says she fell from the sky over lalivero, although i think her family MIGHT have come from the contigo line.

Marlin ßeta - November 11, 2003 06:43 PM (GMT)
No, no. You see, Alex IS the main bad guy of the series. I know I’m going to spoil this for anybody who hasn’t beaten The Lost Age, but oh well… You see, Alex is trying to gain the power of the Golden Sun at the end of The Lost Age by climbing Mt. Aleph. Then he’ll use that power to take over the world. You were right in saying that he hadn’t chosen sides, because he’s on his own side. Alex is a loner, which is one of the things that makes him cool, at least as a villain.

Lor - November 13, 2003 11:43 PM (GMT)
that is so freakin AWESOME. i can just see him doing that lol. i hope i can beat the game soon. but one thign my walkthrough says nothing about mars lighthouse, so i might have to figure that out on my own then. but i mean u know in the end i was kinda hoping that would happen :) . but does he get inside? if so AWESOME but if not......... <_<

Marlin ßeta - November 14, 2003 01:14 AM (GMT)
I’m not saying any more. I can already see that I’ve spoiled the ending for one person. I’m not going to indulge you any further. You’ll just have to beat the game to find out the ending like I did.

Lor - November 25, 2003 09:32 PM (GMT)
heh i beat it  i liked watching him climb up the mountain. i wonder if he will come back in GS3(if there is one)

Marlin ßeta - November 26, 2003 03:15 AM (GMT)
Oh, Alex has to come back in GS III. Whatever happened to Alex is the major cliffhanger of The Lost Age. Personally, I don't think its a matter of if there will be a GS III but WHEN there will be a GS III. B)

Elephande - November 29, 2003 10:59 PM (GMT)
I like Alex becuase he somehow always shows up somewhere... and he always teleports in and out

Marlin ßeta - November 30, 2003 04:15 PM (GMT)
Isn't there something else that makes you like Alex? Water Master? Attitude? Teleports in and out, eh?

Max - December 17, 2003 11:24 PM (GMT)
Alex is most definitely the best character...I can relate to him the most. Some of you might have already guessed it, but I, I like Alex, have a certain...attraction to overwhelming power. Not that I'm as obsessed as him, nor do I desire it. I just like seeing the consequences it brings. The next sequel should be quite interesting, and I hope that it will take a darker twist...I prefer to play a game as the villain for a change. I would like to play as Alex's character on his quest to conquer the earth and attain the power he desires. But that's just me. I'm sure that Camelot will decide to once again try making the object of the game to save the day...

Marlin ßeta - December 18, 2003 06:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the style of Golden Sun doesn't really lend itself to letting the player take on an evil role.

Max - December 18, 2003 08:06 PM (GMT)
Yes you're right, but still I think Alex should have played more of a role in Golden Sun. I mean, I was actually looking forward to fighting Alex near the end of the game...Well, perhaps in the third game (if they make it) I will be able to see Alex in battle. I'm sure it would be quite interesting.

Marlin ßeta - December 19, 2003 06:42 PM (GMT)
You bet! Personally, I think that Camelot could have allowed you to fight AS Alex during the beginning of The Lost Age (you know, when Alex joins your party and you are only allowed to fight as Jenna). That would have been really cool to have access to some high-class psynergies right off the get-go. Just wistful thinking, though.

Max - December 19, 2003 09:09 PM (GMT)
Yes that would defintely have been awesome...ah well...no sense in dreaming about what cannot be done or seen yet. We'll all just have to hope that we get to see plenty of Alex in battle, as I'm sure it would be quite interesting. Sorry if I'm starting to sound repetetive, but that is what I have to say.

Marlin ßeta - December 20, 2003 03:04 PM (GMT)
Naw, you’re not sounding repetitive. Alex is a cool character and I think he didn’t get enough of the spotlight during both games. Being the main bad guy of the series, I thought that Camelot would have played up his character a little more instead of focusing on the "noble-baddies" from Prox. Don't get me wrong, though. I still like Garet better.

Max - December 23, 2003 07:47 PM (GMT)
Yes yes well...hmmm...I wonder....why did Camelot feel they had to make Felix silent for most of the Lost Age? He seems like an intelligent enough speaker when he talks...but then they went and made him quiet. As for Isaac on the other hand, they should have kept him silent. I don't know what it is, but somehow in the Lost Age he came out kind of annoying. I dunno maybe that's just me. But if Camelot insists on making the main character that you control in the game silent, then I really hope that Alex does NOT become a main character...it would be a terrible crime to deprive that awesome dude of his voice.

Marlin ßeta - December 24, 2003 03:31 PM (GMT)
Personally, I think that depriving the main character of speech is Golden Sun’s only downfall.

Max - December 24, 2003 08:28 PM (GMT)
Golden Sun isn't the only game that made the decision to deprive the main character of speech. Just look at the Legend of Zelda games. That kid Link never says anything. Anyway, back to Golden Sun, I wouldn't call silencing the characters golden sun's only downfall...the makers of the game also seemed to lack a good sense of humor. I mean, I know the game was supposed to be all serious and everything, but they could have at least thrown a few more humorous parts in there. Even the parts that were meant to be funny brought nothing more than a slight smile, if even that. The only really funny part I could think of was at the beginning of the game, when Alex intimidated all of the soldiers and construction workers. It made me laugh seeing all the workers run off scared, then see the one in the back fall flat on his face. But from there, the humor element really ceased to exist through much of the game.

Marlin ßeta - December 25, 2003 04:17 PM (GMT)
Really??? You didn’t like Golden Sun’s humor level? I thought it was perfect. I always enjoyed Garet and Jenna’s absentmindedness. Kraden was always too serious in any situation and Mia and Sheba always love to poke fun at the guys. I felt the humor of Golden Sun was right on the money. As far as Link goes, I’ve always wanted to hear him say something other than, “yuh,” during combat. Voice acting is a true sign of good character development.

Max - December 25, 2003 08:13 PM (GMT)
Yes yes those were all very light-hearted situations, but not funny. I do have one idea that would make the game a little funnier...let loose the clowns...then unlock a special bonus mission where you have to kill all of them in the most graphic ways possible...heheheh...dead clowns...(ok so maybe that's being slightly sick minded...i really wouldn't want to see a clown die...except for Ronald McDonald of course)

Marlin ßeta - December 27, 2003 03:51 PM (GMT)
I guess my style of humor is just a little different from yours. I always got a good chuckle whenever something like that happened. Oh, well. Everybody likes something else (I guess).

Max - December 28, 2003 12:05 AM (GMT)
Yep I guess so...Ah well, I suppose I can't complain...It's not like I'd do a great job if I were writing out the game tryin to come up with funny stuff. So I'll just try to lighten up a little and appreciate a little more whatever humor they threw in there.

Silver Chaos Adept - December 28, 2003 10:08 PM (GMT)
Personally I think Garet is very good. But I would like to see him run into a brick wall... * laughs* I like seeing people run humourously into brick walls... I liked it in GS, when he kept getting stuck in the roof. :D But I agree with the speech thing. But what if Link had a crappy voice?

Max - December 28, 2003 10:41 PM (GMT)
Heheh that is true...what if Link turns out to have some sort of ifeminite voice and says gay stuff? Perhaps he is best kept silent...

Silver Chaos Adept - December 29, 2003 09:54 AM (GMT)
Hmmm true. But still, it would be cool to hear him say SOMETHING. Just once? Pretty please Nintendo?? Well, whatever. I never found Kraden that funny, except in fanfics where everyone takes the mick outof him. :D That's good.

Silver Chaos Adept - December 29, 2003 11:44 AM (GMT)
Hey, just wondering, wouldn't it be cool if in GS3 the Djinn had personalities? Hey, maybe if you get all the Djinn from GS1&2 then you can use all of them to get the best summon ever. Or maybe the Djinn will take over the world.

Mist: :D

Are you going to take over the world?

Mist: Yep. The helping thing, that was just to lull you into a false sense of secrurity.

Flint: Beware the Djinn! :D

Cannon: NINNNNNNNNNJA!!!!!! :ph43r:

All:

Actually, if the GS3 Dji8nn were anything like my muse Djinn I would have to kill myself.

Mist: You love us really! :D

...........Right. <_<

Marlin ßeta - December 29, 2003 06:05 PM (GMT)
I think I might have to warn your djinn if this keeps up. But really, I think Link’s voice wouldn’t be a problem.

Max - December 29, 2003 10:20 PM (GMT)
Still, it may be risky giving Link a voice...so far his lack of speech isn't repelling many people, and giving him a voice might make some people hate him.

Marlin ßeta - December 30, 2003 03:51 AM (GMT)
Just as long as the voice isn’t unappealing to me, it’s all good. I don’t really care what other people think as long as my not caring doesn’t hurt anyone.

Max - December 30, 2003 08:15 PM (GMT)
But that's just the problem...what if it turns out you don't like what he says? Goodbye Zelda...

Marlin ßeta - December 31, 2003 04:20 AM (GMT)
<_< !!! I'm not worried.
