It has recently come to my attention that a lot of people around here don't care for Xbox. Therefore, I've seen an opportunity to put together a bandwagon for the purpose of camaraderie. I want to hear opinions on this because I've always despised Xbox, but I thought I was the only one. :heart:

Keep in mind several things:

I love Halo, but hate Xbox. :}
If somebody finds this movement very offensive or otherwise wrong, I'll put an end to it. u_u

Heheh. I have no probs with the Xbox, in fact, it's rather cool. I just don't like it's game selection with the exception of Halo & SplinterCell.

Well, that was really just the name of the topic. Not so much the cult, but I'm really pleased that I'm getting so much positive feedback on a topic that is very touchy. Actually, I was hoping that the Council of Rocian Adepts could actually start to take a stand on something and form opinions and goals out of this topic.

Our first goal is to make people realize that there ARE people out there who don't like Xbox and that they can openly discuss their disgust over the system. We need a battlecry. Something like, "Remember Nintendo! Forget Xbox!" or "Down with Xbox!"

ok im in! even thought i will stop coming to this site because im playing halo (irony) i still hate the xbox as a system, not in general. i do believe there a some good ga...... well who am i kidding, halo is the only good game for the xbox. i love halo and every thing related to it, but not the system.

I'll start drawing up a signature banner for those who want to use one to support our cause. I guess a mission statement would probably be good as well. We need to make it clear that we all love Halo, so I guess I'll include some reference like that in the banner.

Anyway, is everyone okay with the Council of Rocian Adepts taking up the fight? Is this something we can stand for?

I'm in! But yeah, about that "We all love Halo" thing, I don't thing it quite belongs. Some, maybe most, of us may be fans of Halo, but it doesn't seem like a fitting statement for the whole club. Ultimately, I'd rather not be labeled as loving Halo.

Well, I'm just saying that most of the people who like Xbox, like it just because they like Halo. I want these people on our bandwagon. Therefore, I want to make it clear that we are not an anti-Halo organization. I'm not saying that everyone in the club LIKES Halo. No. I actually really like X-Box. *points to sig's currently playing list* And Gamecube, and PS2. I own every second gen console. >.> It actually has alot better RPG's than GC does at the moment. (Opinion, I'm not in the mood to argue it, thanks much.) I like them all cuz there's great games for them all. ^_^ And because I'm a nerd like that. Yes.

I can't say I hate X-box because I've actually never seen one, the X-box doesn't exist here so I'm going to stay out of this for now at least unntil I actually see an X-box

Its hated because people are tired of seeing it labeled as a better system than gamecube just because it has halo. The system has very few actually good games, and the controllers are WAY too big and poorly designed, and finally, its Microsoft.

Eh, it's more of a fun thing I'm trying to start up. It's not real hatred. Windseer got all of the big points as to why most of us don't like it.

I remember some game rating TV show on G4 and it came out that with popular votes from website viewers, Zelda was the number one game and Halo was the number two game. One of my friends from college used this to claim that Xbox and Microsoft are better than Gamecube and Nintendo. I've always been miffed about people saying that Nintendo caters to children, because it's actually more of an "all ages" thing.

I see PS2 and Xbox marketing the big violent titles like Halo and GTA while Nintendo is classic with Mario and DK. I say that PS2 and Xbox discriminate against the younger gamers, especially with the whole fiasco with GTA:SA sex scenes. Personally, the nature of GTA with you always breaking the law and the game's focus on killing people, it SHOULD have been rated AO to start with. Big mistake, ESRB. u_u

Anyway, I'd just like to say that you're all a great group of people (everyone in the Nest). All this time I thought I was making you feel accepted by creating this great place, but now you've turned around and made me realize I wasn't the only person who dislikes Xbox.

I've always found it to be fun to push your opinion in somebody's face just to get an argument started. Maybe that's what's at the heart of all this. Anyway, let's all have some fun. :gsgrin:

i hate the Xbox. the whole f****** company is about money and money alone, theyre not about the games, thats why all of their games are sub par. Besides if there is a game on the xbox that i want, ill just wait for it to come out on the PC, yes all xbox games eventually come out on the PC.i hate the xbox and all those who play with it.

But not all their games are subpar. I'll agree that Halo is an overated P.O.S. *nods* I hate it because it vastly overshadows the truly good X-Box games like Jade Empire and KotOR just because of all it's hype. I've played Halo, and frankly, I was bored to tears. It's sad that X-Box is only known for that and gets a bad rep because of it.

I HATE THE XBOX! I own one, but I only got it for Halo and a few other games. If my PS2 wasn't busted I'd have it covered in gold and enshrined... after I get the PS3, that is.... How many people believe that the PS3 has a stronger graphics engine than the XBox 360? How many people don't believe it?

The reason Xbox games come out for PC is because they use MICROSOFT Windows to play em, just like they used MICROSOFT Xbox. :tongue:

Buying a system just for certain games (I'm going beyond just Xbox with this.) is just... strange. Mercury Goddess said she only bought a Gamecube for the Zeldas and FF:CC, and that only makes 3 games (well, 5 if you count the promo games, OoT/MQ and the 4-game collection thing). I say, if you're gonna do that, just find a friend who has the stuff and play theirs, saving yourself some money. Or at least if they just have the system you need, you'd only have to buy the games (I have a few PS1 games that I do that with. Not that I bought those though, it's just the same basic principle) Anyway, I'm done with that. (also I believe Blockbuster lets you rent systems) Ok, NOW I'm done.

I never played Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. I've heard it's a bad game. I've heard people like it too. It can't be all bad...
...though...I am not happy that Square Enix only created a non-traditional FF game for Nintendo. Sometimes I just think that companies are TRYING to kill Nintendo... :sad:

For me, Canti, I would buy a console for my favorite games, even if I only buy a few. You don't need a library. :gssweatdrop: Just your favorites. If I loved Halo enough (which I don't), I probably would buy it, or maybe not due to the X-box's price.

Well, I prefer to own my own Zeldas. (Alliteration much? *shudders*) I don't borrow games and I don't ever lend my own out. I've always been that way. B) And I've never missed a Zelda, so I'd like to keep that up. And there's also ToS. We can't forget that. No, no. *hugs Zelos* See, he's sad now. He was forgotten. My GC was only $100 or so when I got it, and I had a job that paid very well at the time, so it didn't even phase me.


FF:CC wasn't that good (it still beats the travesty that is 9 and 12, though..), I'll admit, but I didn't know that at the time. And when I bought the GC, CC wasn't out yet. I bought it so I'd be able to play any GC exclusives that I might like. Zeldas, any prospective Pokemon games, ToS, etc. I buy every system so I'm not restriced. 'And because I don't do rabid fanboi/gurl-ism. Zelda was just the driving force behind my purchase. And the fact that it was that promo where you got WW for free. Can't turn down free Zelda goodness.

Girl+shopping+free things= she'll likely buy it. ^_^

I have PS2 only for RPGs. I don't own a single non RPG aside from Dynasty Warriors 5...oh, and Monster Hunter! I do wish some of you guys played it!
I bought it mainly for the games I own, yes. And cuz I'm moving out of this house someday and I'm not gonna take my brother's PS2 with me. o.O

And I bought my X-Box just to play KotOR and Jade Empire. And Dynasty Warriors 4. :P I splurge on games.

I see, well, in that case, I can see your point. :tongue: I do rather like to not be restricted, that's why I want a PS2 (er, well, by now, PS3). Though I wouldn't feel restricted not having an Xbox (or 360). :tongue: KoTOR never appealed to me. Anyway, I suppose the whole saving money thing is just the way I think because I don't have a job, so I rarely come across money. If I do that again, somebody slap me. :tongue:

I want to be truthful: I have no problem with the controllers. They're fine to me. The Gamecube controllers are much more complex than they need to be. They have all sorts of different shaped buttons in odd places. L & R need to have all this unnecessary pressure to have them activated. And that Z-Button...weird button...
I am much more accustomed to the old "shark" design of Nintendo 64s controllers. They should have stuck with that.

Yeah. I too think that the N64 controller was the best controller ever made. :heart: I still play SF64 and all the old greats every once and a while so I don't lose my edge.

Anyway, I went ice skating last night so I didn't get a chance to work out a cult slogan/coat of arms/mission statement. I'll see what I can do later. Maybe we should change the name to "Xbox Loathers." It sounds more sophisticated, it means the same thing as hate, but it doesn't have the evil connotations. ^_^

Anyway, yes. PS2 is an RPG machine. That's all it's good for, I agree. B)
