Title: who is the most useless character
Description: cna you tell
garet - July 12, 2003 01:33 AM (GMT)
Marlin ßeta - July 12, 2003 02:08 AM (GMT)
Sheba is unbelieveably weak. I seriously think that Sheba, "the chosen one", "the girl delivered by the gods," should be much stronger in combat than she is. Even Ivan has better stats than Sheba.
Rainer1 - July 12, 2003 05:32 AM (GMT)
Sheba by far. at lest Ivan has some power by the end. and And kraden makes you laugh a couple times. Sheba is just a sad, weak, sucky character.
mia7071 - July 12, 2003 08:12 PM (GMT)
sheba's cool...and not useless. in most bosses (before the gs1 people join) she is the only one doing real damage. piers, felix, and jenna attack less because of healing duities
Marlin ßeta - July 12, 2003 08:40 PM (GMT)
Okay, that may be true, mia7071...But who are Piers, Felix, and Jenna always healing? Hmmmm? Sheba! You guessed it. And besides, when I play The Lost Age, I'm always using Sheba's first Jupiter djinni, Breath, to heal the other characters. Don't cut Sheba out of the healing circle so quickly. B)
garet - July 13, 2003 12:44 AM (GMT)
theres is no use if you are heal always it needs attack to finish but sheba is not useless it have djinn that is strong
Marlin ßeta - July 13, 2003 02:44 AM (GMT)
garet, you and mia7071 can keep backing up Sheba, but no matter how many times you say it, its not going to change her stats. Weak, weak, weak...
lucas12 - August 7, 2003 07:29 PM (GMT)
Sheba is not weak, okay her stats are not that good but she has very good attacking psynergy + very good djinns + very much PP and last you can't beat the game without her psynergy: reveal, whirlwind, mind read, at least not until you meet Isaac and co.
Marlin ßeta - August 10, 2003 01:47 AM (GMT)
lucas12, well duh, of course Camelot had to make a wind adept for your party. Sure, you couldn't beat the game without her, but you couldn't beat the game without Felix, Jenna, or Piers either. Storyline psynergy does not make a character good. Sorry, lucas12, but I'm staying firm on my opinion of Sheba being the weakest.
Silver Chaos Adept - December 28, 2003 10:01 PM (GMT)
And what about all the Clueless People?! You know, like the dumb villagers. And why do the dogs all look the same? They should have a different coloured dog for each town, then the towns could have flags with a picture of their dog on their flag! :D Until the dogs died, when they could have gravestones the same colour as their dogs were! :D Why does Garet's little brother look like a girl anyway?! I bet he's called Miranda, coz his parents though he looked like a girl. Weird idea.... And why is there only one cat?! You know, the one you see being chased by a Clone Dog in the cut scene where Isaac & Garet leave the village in GS. I like cats!!! And why are seagulls evil?! WHY?? WHY????? WHYYYY???????? It's so unfair!!!!
Evil Bob - August 19, 2003 09:47 PM (GMT)
Sheba is cool. I don't get why everyone hates her so much. Sure, her stats are weak, but that's what items like mints apples and power bread were made for. Even so, at least she fights. Kraden doesn't even do that.
Marlin ßeta - August 21, 2003 02:37 AM (GMT)
Evil Bob, Rainer1 and I are the only ones who seem to think that Sheba is weak. Everybody else seems to be backing her up. Personally, I don't even consider Kraden to be a weak character because we never see him fight. What if he joined you in battle and he turns out to be strong? Well, it's pointless to debate something silly like that. I just don't think Kraden can even be considered a character to be analyzed at all because we never see him do anything. Nothing cannot be compared to something that is available. Oh, and by the way, SHEBA HAS TERRIBLE STATS (despite status-altering items).
windchild - November 5, 2003 03:43 PM (GMT)
i'm not even gonna jump in on the sheba thing, she's a wind adept and i'm crazy bout all of em. however, it drives me crazy that we're given a character that walks around with us but doesn't help us fight.
Marlin ßeta - November 6, 2003 05:53 PM (GMT)
You mean Kraden, right? Yeah, I can agree that Kraden is useless in battle (he never even fights), but you have to remember that Kraden was the one that got this whole thing started with the climbing of Mt. Aleph. The more I think about it, there is truly no completely useless character.
Lor - November 9, 2003 10:01 PM (GMT)
Well I gotta say its kraden only cuz hes an annoying old man whos always on about his theories. i wasted some gametime listening to all the crap he comes out with.
Marlin ßeta - November 12, 2003 01:37 AM (GMT)
What you call a waste of game time, I call plot development. The more I think about it, the more I realize that no major character in The Lost Age is truly useless.
Lor - November 13, 2003 11:48 PM (GMT)
hmm u know what im chaning my view. the useless character of golden sun is sheba im sry wind adepts but its true. the only time i ever really use her is when i need to mind read, blow something away or reveal. o i also u her one djinn to hide on of my GOOD chars sometimes. other wise i think sheba needs to grow up some and not get ticked cuz piers wont tell her his age.
Marlin ßeta - November 14, 2003 01:12 AM (GMT)
I’ve decided to stop my previous series of Sheba bashing, and lend her a little support. Yeah, I can agree that Sheba’s stats are weak in battle, but hers is a unique character. Step back and think here for a moment. Her past is surrounded in mystery (just like Alex, which is a quality which makes him cool). And don’t forget that she’s the one who made Jenna blush in Madra. Nobody can forget that hilarious scene. Yes, I’m sticking with my new standpoint in saying that no character is truly useless.
Max - December 24, 2003 02:39 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that all of you are way off. The most useless character would definitely have to be the Wise One. He just hovers there in his big stupid rocky-cyclops way...saying his stupid "cannot interfere with the actions of man" thing...then he breaks his own rule and fights Alex...stupid worthless good-for-nothin Wise One...not so wise...rocky stupid...(continued rambling)
Marlin ßeta - December 24, 2003 03:18 PM (GMT)
Ha! That's a god one! ..... I mean a good one! I never would have thought that someone would look that far into the game for a useless character. Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you, though. The Wise One does break his own policy of noninterference. That's not cool.
Max - December 24, 2003 08:36 PM (GMT)
I didn't have to look very far into the game or think about it much...the memory of the Wise One screwing Alex over so badly is still fresh in my mind. First he deprives him of eternal life and limitless power by giving Isaac some of it, then he goes and nearly kills him. I don't normally hold grudges, but my hatred toward the Wise One burns bright. I hope that Alex kills that son of a freakin...(goes on to some expletives not appropriate for these forums)
Marlin ßeta - December 25, 2003 04:08 PM (GMT)
“The Cheating Eyeball Rock.” That’s what we can call him now. Yep. We’ve officially found the most useless and controversial character in the entire game (but then, didn’t he save Isaac and Garet during the Mt. Aleph eruption? ).
Max - December 25, 2003 08:16 PM (GMT)
Oh come on...we all know Isaac could have used his Retreat psynergy to get out of there...at least to get to the portal. After the Wise One (or to humor Marlin let's call him the "The Cheating Eyeball Rock) "saved" us, I just used my Retreat psynergy to get the heck outta there.
Marlin ßeta - December 27, 2003 03:48 PM (GMT)
Hmmm, I never thought of that. Good point. But didn't the Wise One do...no wait...Isaac could have done that. Oh! I got one! ................... No wait, that's still useless. Yep. We've figured it out! Most useless character. Mr. Cheating Eyeball Rock.
Max - December 28, 2003 12:12 AM (GMT)
Perhaps in the next game, the plot will reveal just how corrupt the Wise One is. The two people who seem most faithful to him are Kraden and Piers, so I'm sure it would be hard news for them to accept. They're always making excuses for him (at least Kraden is) and Piers seemed like he trusted the Wise One too much. So hopefully, in the next game, we get to kick that cheating (insert expletive)'s rocky donkey! I mean, we should be able to...after all, didn't they all get charged up with the power of the Mars Star? The Wise One even told Alex that he imbued some of the power of the Mars Star into Isaac, so that's a plus. Also, I'm sure in the next game it will again be gaining power...and I have a suspicion that instead of being based on the power of the Sun, it will be about the power of the Moon (remember in Sol Sanctum, when there was a place dedicated to the moon too?). But maybe it won't be...perhaps I'm looking too deeply into the game. But who knows, eh?
Silver Chaos Adept - December 28, 2003 09:00 PM (GMT)
The Cheating Eyeball Rock certainly is a loser, but what about Garet's Nameless Little Brother Who Looks Way Too Much Like A Girl? He's a loser too. And what about Garet's Evil Big Sister Who Only Cares About Her Dumb Flowers? And what about all the Great Healer Clones? And that dude, the Witch Doctor guy with the daft hat who stole Picard's Orb? Why are there so many Great Healer Clones anyway? It's just plain lazy. I have a theory that they were created in a secret lab somewhere, but were so useless they were deligated to standing in sanctums, doing nothing. And I gotta go get some chocolates, so bye!
Max - December 28, 2003 09:09 PM (GMT)
Heheh I've often wondered the same thing myself...just why the hell are there so many Great Healer look-alikes...heh oh well...Wait...Garet has a little brother?! I thought that was a girl! Haha what a stupid looking little boy...
Max - December 28, 2003 10:49 PM (GMT)
Lol Whoa take it easy there...you're startin to sound all paranoid and stuff...wait...WHAT IF THEY ASSEMBLE AN ARMY OF HEALER AND ANIMAL CLONES?! ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOOSE!
Silver Chaos Adept - December 29, 2003 09:45 AM (GMT)
:D C'mon, what would the Great Healers do? They can't fight coz if they could they'd be saving the world and being USEFUL * hint hint Great Healers* and the little dogs are no problem. You know those bones you get in GS? You get them incase you ever need to fend of an army of dog clones. :D Okay, being weird now.... :D
Marlin ßeta - December 29, 2003 06:22 PM (GMT)
Garet’s little brother is named Aaron. If you remember, he’s a brave little cuss. He was in charge of being the man of the family after Garet moved out.
Max - December 29, 2003 10:09 PM (GMT)
Yea, but dang I coulda sworn that was a stupid little girl...his mother shouldn't give him such girlish haircuts...
Marlin ßeta - December 30, 2003 04:01 AM (GMT)
You’ve got to stop judging people by their looks. That’s going to make somebody mad one of these days.
Max - December 30, 2003 08:08 PM (GMT)
Really? ah well thanks for the advice...but still, how is making someone else mad gonna affect me?
Marlin ßeta - December 31, 2003 04:26 AM (GMT)
Forget it then. Lets keep making mean comments about the Wise One. :D
Silver Chaos Adept - December 31, 2003 11:43 AM (GMT)
I never did like the Cheating Eyeball Rock. He's freaky. Plus, why didn't Alex turn him to ice & smash hime? It's what I would've done, but then I am completely mental.
Max - December 31, 2003 08:43 PM (GMT)
Heheh I was disappointed with how anti-climactic that scene was...they both glowed a little, and then Alex lost. That sucked. I wanted to see some awesome attacks and graphics, like maybe Alex summoning something ultimate, then the Wise One summoning something even more powerful...I guess the gamemakers got lazy and impatient when they were making the end scene.
Marlin ßeta - January 1, 2004 03:38 PM (GMT)
Yeah. It would have been cool if they went to a cut cinema scene of a battle (sort of like they did when Isaac fell in battle on Jupiter Lighthouse). That would have been sweet! Alex vs. the Wise One. Alex casts Geyser. Wise One casts Heaving Earth. Alex casts Super Freeze. Wise One casts “Ha, Ha, I win!”
Silver Chaos Adept - January 1, 2004 05:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that would be cool! Anyway, I have decided to tell the Wise One how naff he is.
Wise One: Oh yeah?
=* insert much profanity here*=
Wise One: * shocked*
:P In your smeggy face!!!
Mist: 'Smeg' is not a word.
You don't watch Red Dwarf.
Mist:
Max - January 2, 2004 02:01 AM (GMT)
Yea...but right after that, you'd pretty much be vaporized...
Marlin ßeta - January 2, 2004 03:40 AM (GMT)
I’d just pull some non-interference technicality like Jenna did in the Mars Lighthouse aerie. I think that sort of thing always puts a bug in the Wise One’s agenda. Or at least a Doom Dragon on your plate. A Doom Dragon must be better than being vaporized by the Wise One outright. Correct?
