Is anyone watching this anime (AIR that is) besides Craft User? I really recommend it. It has some of the same mind benders that made Evangelion so popular. Any opinions or questions would be welcome.

Evangelion o_O Evangelion was the anime that made me crazy! I still remember those terrible moments, when I sat there alone and cried over the wickedness of evangelion :C XP
I've heard of Air though.. But it hasn't really caught my interest..

I've just finished watching episode 9 this week.

It seems there was this winged girl who was killed during a war in Japan some hundreds of years ago. A samurai named Ryuuya had been that girl's protector. After seeking counsel from a close friend who as a mystic, it was revealed that Kanna (the winged girl) was still alive. However, she was cursed to live on the far side of the sky until someone could break the curse. Ryuuya himself had been cursed by an enchanted sword and would die within that year. If he was to succeed in saving Kanna, he would have to leave the task to his child or even grandchild.

Fastforward to the present day. Yukito is Ryuuya's descendent, but he doesn't yet know it. His mission has been blurred by the generations. All he knows is that he has to find a girl with wings on the other side of the sky. During his wanderings, he stumbles into a rinky-dink town somewhere on the coast of Japan. That's where he meets Misuzu, a strange girl who has a psychological problem with making friends. She lives with her aunt, who keeps a distance from her so as to not trigger Misuzu's problem (which apparently applies to family members as well as peers). One day Misuzu falls violently ill, but nobody seems to care. Just as the girl is about to take her last breaths, Yukito revives a hidden magic inside of himself that had been passed down from Ryuuya's lover.

That's where confusion sets in as Yukito disappears and Misuzu is cured. However, at the end of episode 9 we see that Misuzu has become friends with a baby crow. This crow is none other than an extremely dazed Yukito! Episode 10 comes out next week.

...so um when you download this stuff, is it legal? Is it all japanese with english subtitles?

You could check out the best anime torrent site for unlicensed anime (Japanese, Subbed). Animesuki!! And yes, it's there, meaning it is legal to download. If you wanna find licensed anime go to Boxtorrents.

Yep. Japanese with English subtitles. It's 100% legal because these animes haven't been licensed in the United States. It's something of a loop-hole, but it works just fine. I torrent anime almost every day at college. Unfortunately, you have to have a fairly fast internet connection to be efficient with these sorts of things. B)

Yay! I read about AIR in NewtypeUSA, it looked pretty cool. I wouldn't mind playing the game its based on either. I'm downloading episodes 1-9 as I... er... type.

So Canti. Have you gotten around to watching any of AIR just yet?

Yeah, I've seen episodes 1-3, 4 was taking forever to download but its done now, and all the rest are done except for 6. So, in the meantime, I've downloaded 7 episodes of Mahau-sensei Negima. Y'know, the new show from the creator of Love Hina. It's pretty good. I like it better than AIR though Not that AIR is bad, it's good. Anyway... I was just checkin' the Nest before going of fto watch episodes 6 and 7 of Negima, cuz if I watched AIR, I only have 4 and 5 to watch, cuz 6 isn't done, and won't be done for a while, so I'd have to switch to Negima anyway, so I'm avoiding that. *edit*: Oh yeah, and my new avatar is some girl from a pic i found on a site. Dunno who she is. But that is one of my all time favorite anime poses. I even tried to make a smilie out of it.

Hey! Don't clutter up my topic about AIR. #-_- Actually there are several other anime that I'm following at the moment. But lets stick to the topic. What do you like about it so far, Canti? Personally, I really like the opening. I have the full six minute cut from the OST and it's awesome. B)

Yeah, the opening is great. I tend to like all anime openings... And, um... well... I dunno what I like about it. I suppose it's just cuz i like shows without much action. Action is boring. I mean like fighting action. Fighting is boring. Slow storylines with lots of character development is more my style. And AIR is like that. So... that could be why I like it.

Episode 10 of AIR is awesome. Quite slow as far as plot development goes, but it closes down some loose ends and adds to the plot of the rest of the series up to this point. B)

Ah, I haven't seen it yet. But I'm downloading it right now. apparently there's only 2 more left... meh. It's too shooooooort! I wanna see the movie!

Dang! I didn't know that! I thought it was a 26 series. Oh well. Where did you find that info?

I wonder how they could possibly wrap this up in two more episodes without rushing or doing a double. o_o?

When I was downloading episode 10 the description said there were only 2 episodes left. (I've still only seen half of episode 10 by now. I'm too busy!!!)

I am getting partially interesting in this anime, after getting acquainted with the characters. I wish to see it. This will probably be the first anime series that I will watch, and finish.

So, how do you do it? After you torrent it, you DO put them on CDs right? All those episodes must take up a lot of memory.

Well, most people burn the episdoes to DVD because otherwise you can only get four on a disc if you're lucky. But yes, this is one of my favorite animes. I really want to see the summer special. I wonder why it hasn't come out yet. :(

MOVIE! The movie was just put up for download about 3 hours ago! I dunno if it was already up somewhere else, but I found it HERE just now! It was a coincidence that I saw it, but I'm excited now! I can't wait to see it!

I've actually already watched the movie from a friend. It's very good. However, I'm more excited that the Summer Special has finally been fansubed. I'm waiting to download it right now. ^_^

Eh, like I said, I didn't know if it was already available somewhere else, but I hadn't seen it before. I just finished watching, and I hated the end... I hated the end of the series too... But I enjoyed it anyway. I suppose that yes, the summer special is next on my list for AIR.

Why do you hate the ending? I love that sad-whishy-washy feeling. That's why I want to get a girlfriend so badly. So that I have somebody to love (nobody gets to think anything strange from what I just said, got it? :upset: ). But seriously, those are the kinds of anime that are just heartbreakers and I certainly like to have those kinds of big emotions. I'm not a very typical guy, am I? :cry: :sad:

well, because she dies... I don't want her to die... I want the whole relationship between Misuzu and Yukito to go on, cuz I love romance, and I love it when two people finally admit that they love each other. But to have one of them die... It's kinda like a mini version of my own heart breaking. I know this has nothing to do with romance, but I come to care about the characters so much that in Fullmetal Alchemist, when Maes Hughes died, I was crying. I don't want them to die. It's horrible.

That's why I hate the ending... it's so heart-wrenchingly sad... I can relate to it in a way, because I have someone whom I truly love (now don't any of you go getting all "you're too young to know what true love is!" on me. I love her, I devote myself to her, and I would never, ever betray her.) If she were to die... I don't know what I would do about it. I know I wouldn't kill myself, I would never go that far for anything, but... it would be really hard.

Hrmm. Yeah. I see your point. But that's the reason I like that sort of thing. Perhaps it's feeding my loneliness from not having a girlfriend. Perhaps this is why I enjoy being jaded and indignant. *sigh* I really want a girlfriend all of a sudden. One of my best friends recently got a girl and the two of them are all over each other. Yeah. As much as I like romance, I like poetic drama even more. It's just one of the reasons I like AIR's ending so much (as well as the high drama FMA delivers).

Anyways, I need help. I just finished AIR 9, and have AIR 10. BUT! I can't find working torrents for the rest of the episodes! (11-13) Can someone help me find working torrents?

Which torrent do you have? I've found one which is working just fine at this time, which is 21:49 GMT. Which torrent client do you have, can it download batches?

Let me restate that.

I meant I can't find a torrent on the INTERNET that is actually downloadable. My primary source is Baka-updates, and all AIR torrents after episode 10 on that site lead me to a "Page cannot be found." That's what I mean.

Go to http://www.mininova.org, search for AIR, scroll down then download a torrent called AIR tv 1-13 complete [ishin] eng sub.torrent. Though if you don't have the right torrent client, say Bittorent, I don't think you'd be able to select which you want to download. If you have BitComet on the other hand, you will be able to download the episodes you want.

...oh. Man. That's bad. I have bittorrent. Not comet. And I don't think I want to switch clients either.

Surely there are individual working torrents out there on the AIR episodes. There must be.

Then I'm afraid I can't help. I have searched *counts* 18 sites for individual torrents. Not a thing, other than one torrent that didn't have enough seeds. Good luck in your search, sorry I couldn't help :wink:

All of those episodes but 8 have seeds. Some have very few, like.... 1... but there's also a torrent of them all, with 30 seeds. You can try that if you'd like.

Lunar Anime has episodes 1-10, and they all have some seeds, so if the ones I already showed you don't work, try Lunar.

...is there a (working) Koi torrent out there for the Air Movie? ...um yeah. I'm looking for that too. The one on baka-updates seems to be downloadable, but is technically "broken." I mean, there are more Air movie torrents, but I'm specifically looking for the one done by "Koi." Helpy help? :cry:
