Title: Fire red/Leaf green
Description: Who's got it?
the_isaac - October 26, 2004 07:27 PM (GMT)
I have it!! I caught 98 pokémon already :P
I do wish I could find an Action Replay cheat so I could add a mystic and aurora ticket.
If anyone finds them, please post them here, because I'm desperate :nope:
oh, by the way, they have to be for the UK version, because american version cheats don't work.

Physically, in your Gameboy Advance [SP] I meant! :P
garet33 - October 26, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
i got them i cuaght already 112 pokemon
Lor - October 26, 2004 09:47 PM (GMT)
I have FR, but honestly, I don't care about "catching them all". I'd rather have a strong team.
felix777 - October 26, 2004 09:53 PM (GMT)
thats my first thing but i dont mind collectin em all...... and u at least need to collect 60 so u can see ALL the game ( im stuck when ur n 5 island where do u get the 2nd code to get in the rockets base)
Lor - October 26, 2004 10:03 PM (GMT)
Sevault canyon I think its called. It's on one of the islands anyway. In the canyon, theres a small building or something that has a steel looking door that you can't open, unless you use cut on it. Then you gotta fall through pits until you reach the bottom, where a sapphire lies. When your about to get it, a scientist runs in and grabs it, and says hes gonna sell it. He tells you where hes gonna take it (Rocket base), and tells you the second passcode.
Marlin ßeta - October 26, 2004 10:11 PM (GMT)
Eh, I'm not getting the pokemon games. I'm good at them, but there's others out there that are much more worthy of my attention. B)
Swordmaster - October 27, 2004 04:01 AM (GMT)
Yeah I'm with Marlin, there are other things besides Pokemon... -_-
Hawk - October 27, 2004 08:51 AM (GMT)
Well no one said pokemon was the only thing ;)
This is just a topic about the game asking if you got it. Not a topic that says "i love pokemon it's the best game other games stink" :D now swordmaster what post were you looking at :D ;)
Mercury Goddess - October 27, 2004 01:53 PM (GMT)
I've got LG, but I've only caught about 62 of the little things. I don't care...as long as I have my faves and my team (which now consists of many Pokemon from Sapphire instead, now that I've opened the trading) I don't bother with the other critters.
the_isaac - October 27, 2004 03:50 PM (GMT)
the problem is, no one else I know is going to get leaf green or fire red, so I have to get 100 pokemon to be able to build a good team (to include r/s pokemon)
Hawk - October 27, 2004 05:23 PM (GMT)
I'm playing leaf green, and I just beat the 8th gym ^_^
garet33 - October 27, 2004 06:38 PM (GMT)
im in the sivii islands already
Charizard lvl 62
Pigeot lvl 49
Marowak lvl 59
Garados lvl 50
Jolteon lvl 52
and Nidoking lvl 56
good team isn't it ^_^
Lor - October 27, 2004 10:13 PM (GMT)
Ummm....Honestly, no it's not.
Ditch the Gyrados, because if they use an electric attack it does double super effective, since Gyrados is Water/Flying.
Secondly, ditch the Nidoking and get an Aggron from R/S or catch a Larvitar and raise it to Tyranitar.
Pidgeot is the weakest flyer, so get rid of him too. (I'd suggest getting Zapdos, so you can get rid of Jolteon too, leaving an free slot on your team).
And Marowak isn't the best fighter either, not that it counts for much, since Fighting stinks.
And I'm sorry to say, Charizard isn't the best fire pokemon. I know you may disagree, but Arcanine is the best, because it can learn the same fire attacks as Charizard, and it doesn't have the flying vulnerabilty.
My Team(Flyer not included)
Dragonite-68
Umbreon-59
Arcanine-65
Blastoise-64
Snorlax-60
Kabutops-40(Being raised)
I'm also raising a Bulbasaur, and I hope to obtain a Scyther soon, to change into Scizor.
I raise alot of dragons too. I think I got 3 more Dratini. And of course, I can always buy more at the Celadon game corner. Seriously, if you don't got a Dragonite, get one, because its the most powerful pokemon in the game (Non-Legendary, that is).
Naruto - October 27, 2004 11:13 PM (GMT)
I have had mine only for a few days (Fire Red). Edwin gave me some sweet stuff to start with besides my Squirtle: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Abra, and an Aerodactyl. Lol, they did not want to listen to me until I beat Misty, which was a pain thanks to Aerodactyl not listening and using Hyperbeam when I told him to. Anyway, my party is Wartortle, Charmelion, Ivysaur, Pikachu, Aerodactyl, and a Kadabra, and they're around the mid twenties.
Lor - October 27, 2004 11:56 PM (GMT)
*stabs pikachu and charmander and replaces them with electabuzz and arcanine*
Theres a good boy. :}
Naruto - October 28, 2004 02:39 PM (GMT)
*Impales electabuzz and arcanine on a naginata* Don't **** with my Pokemon! :P Lol, I'm not far enough to get them yet. I beat Surge yesterday, and Erika at about 8:20 this morning.
Hawk - October 28, 2004 05:20 PM (GMT)
I like pikachu and charmander better :P
*stabs arcanine and electobuzz :P *
Mercury Goddess - October 28, 2004 05:44 PM (GMT)
My Team (Until I get Mewtwo, at which point, shifting will be done.)
All are near or at lv. 53, except the Kirlia I traded/hatched from Sapphire, as I just recently opened the R/S trading link.
Venusaur
Nidorina (I'm waiting on it to get some of it's later moves before evolving it.)
Sandslash
Raichu
Pidgeot
Kirlia Lv. 20
Once I get Mewtwo, Raichu will be gone, and if I ever get my hands on Suicune or Deoxys, I'll probably take Sandslash out...but I'll never get Deoxys, so I don't mind much.
Note: My Kirlia was born knowing Shadow Ball. ^^ I searched for a long time to find a lil Ghost type to breed with my Gardevoir to get that move.
Naruto - October 28, 2004 05:49 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm not sure what my team is gonna be by game's end. I am gonna use Mewtwo when I get him, and maybe one of the birds.
Lol, I'm fighting Giovanni in Celadon city right now. His stupid kangaskhan just killed ivysaur, and I'm gonna attack him with Pikachu. Muahahaha, my Pikachu owned a Kangaskhan that was two levels above it :P Die Giovanni!!!!!
Lor - October 28, 2004 08:04 PM (GMT)
MG, just a word of advice, evolve your nidos as soon as possible because they still learn the same moves when they're evolved.
I also have an egg made Gardevoir B)
One easy way to hatch eggs, get the acro bike and go to one of those dirt hills u can only get up with the mach. Tape down the up key so it keeps going up the hill and falling back due to the wrong bike, and it will count as steps. And you of course know that to hatch eggs they require a number of steps.
I cannot decide whether I want Alakazam, Gardevoir, or Espeon on mah team. I don't like to use legendaries, so no mewtwo.
Naruto - October 28, 2004 08:16 PM (GMT)
What level does Kadabra evolve at to become Alakazam? Anyway, do you have to get the pkmn from past games that don't appear in yours (like the ruby and sapphire starters and silver/gold)
the_isaac - October 28, 2004 08:25 PM (GMT)
I don't like legendaries either, so so far my team consists of:
Kabutops lvl 71
Pidgeot lvl 71
(maybe a scizor, maybe a pikachu (light ball + surf)
I don't like aggron! He's weak to so many types of attacks! He's ground and steel, making him vulnerable to countless types!
R/S team:
Charizard (shiny)
Cacturne (with leeching moves + leftovers *evil*)
Pikachu w. Light ball + surf
Wiscash (w. spark)
Milotic (w00t! Great sp. def)
Scizor (nothing special, just cool)
To get the R/S Starters, just trade from R/S and, TADA! You have them.
To evolve alakazam you must trade him!

Does it indeed? I thought it stopped learning moves once you stone evolved it, much like Raichu and some of the others. It's been a while since I've had a Nidoran, so I've forgotten alot of its move patterns. But if that's the case, I'll just go ahead and evolve the thing. *shrugs*
the_isaac - October 28, 2004 08:33 PM (GMT)
Maybe you should check a faq, or serebii.net for info on the move patterns for nidorina. But if it is the same as the moves for a nidoqueen, I suggest you evolve it asap. The stats rise much faster when the pokemon are evolved!
Mercury Goddess - October 28, 2004 08:41 PM (GMT)
I know that. I've been playing this series since Red and Blue all those lovely years ago. That's why I avoid traded Pokemon. I read in a guide that they're stats are somewhat lower because they level faster. It's why I always trade an egg and never an actual Pokemon. It's also why I never use Rare Candies. They don't make you as strong as you would be. I just didn't want to have to use a bunch of TM's on my Nidorina, because it costs too much money, and there aren't many that you can buy that she can use.
the_isaac - October 28, 2004 08:46 PM (GMT)
Actually, I read somewhere, that when their ev's are maxed out, it doesn't matter wether you level them up by rare candies or not. so If you give your pokemon 10 carbos, 10 iron, 10 calcium, 10 zinc.. and whatever others there are when they are lvl 5, you can level them up with rare candies all the way to level 100, and they'd be stronger than any other pokémon like them!
Serebii.net is an excellent pokemon site! Read more about stuff there!!!
ps. In pokémon emerald there is an island where you can catch.....
MEW! (world's edge island or something like that)
Mercury Goddess - October 28, 2004 08:51 PM (GMT)
Isn't Emerald the version that's slated to be released sometime soon? I hadn't thought it was out yet, but I read about it in GMR not too long ago.
the_isaac - October 28, 2004 09:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah. You can read more about it at serebii.net. It seems really cool! I'm gonna get it :P And what makes me happier is that I have an action replay, so I can cheat to get the pokémon I can't get.
If that makes any sense :ninja:
Naruto - October 28, 2004 09:52 PM (GMT)
Er...don't most people already have Mew? *looks at his Blue game* I've got five or so in my boxes.
I don't get why they just keep coming up with new pokemon, some of them just look messed up. Hey, what is the name of that pokemon with the skull face like dr. wiley's insignia on Megaman?
the_isaac - October 28, 2004 10:09 PM (GMT)
Duskull ^_^ Pretty cool name if you ask me (dusk skull :} )
But the mew is for the new generation games! not the old ones, because you can't trade from the old ones (r/b/y/g/s/c ---X--> r/s/fr/lg/e)
There is a new generation coming! It's gonna have gonbe (munchlax) in it. It's gonna be called.. Pearl and.. something.
Naruto - October 29, 2004 02:25 AM (GMT)
What I mean is that most of the new pokemon look so friggen stupid, they look like someone took a drunk cartoonist, hung him upside down watching pokemon, then seeing digimon in japanese without subtitles. Heck, one of the pokemon reminds me of what would happen if someone took a squirtle, boiled him up, and put him inside it for five hours, then barbecued him.
SuicuneSol - October 29, 2004 02:53 AM (GMT)
Maybe it's that you're getting too old for it. Not because it's getting stupid.
Naruto - October 29, 2004 02:59 AM (GMT)
No, I'm just a fan of the older games (blue and red, to silver and gold) Because they only introduced new pokemon once in a while. But on crystal, ruby, and sapphire, they were just everywhere! I just feel that the original 150 are always going to be the best.
Lor - October 29, 2004 11:08 AM (GMT)
Agreed. I did enjoy some of the new ones in G/S like Umbreon, Tyranitar, and the legendary dogs, but the original 150 hold my favorites. (yay for dragonite, boo for salamance :P )
Mercury Goddess - October 29, 2004 02:24 PM (GMT)
I agree that the first were the best, however there are a few from R/S and G/S that I liked as well. Gardevoir, Espeon and Umbreon, Suicune, Latios, Latias, Cute lil Torchic, Flygon.
There's more, but there's no need to list all that. ^^
Naruto - October 29, 2004 05:52 PM (GMT)
I'm finding a huge problem with fire red and leaf green, there are almost NO NEW INNOVATIONS!!!!!! I mean jeez, I've been playing these games for the past six years, and they have barely changed at all! God, I was playing my game earlier, and I picked up tons of hidden items in bushes and rocks that I knew were there from SIX YEARS AGO! The only thing about the game that actually stands out are the graphics, which aren't that bad. Next, they need to come up with some sort of new system to make the games more entertaining, like getting some sort of job, and working for cash. Heck, even selling pokemon would work out as a money gettin franchise.
the_isaac - October 29, 2004 06:08 PM (GMT)
or how about catching them all? It's not that simple you know.
but haw far have you gotten? as soon as you get to blaines gym, things are going to drastically change :P
ps. I played the game in the wrong order. I didn't know how to get into saffron, so I continued the game, and sabrina was the last gym leader (before giovanni) that I beat. I was quite shocked that you didn't have to do them in a particular order.
Naruto - October 31, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Hahahaha, I didn't do it in order either. The charmander Edwin sent me had CUT as a move, and I just went into the vermillion gym without going onto the SS Anne at all. I haven't played the game at all this weekend, so I'll leave it at that I'm hanging out in Fuscha, with four of the badges.
Oh, and I'm gonna OWN Blaine!!!!!
