-_- To all the squirrels that read this -_-
You played well and desevre the utmost praise for you started the electronic monster in the face and spat in his eye :) we fielded two teams which both played very well. More details and will come later *unexpected house guests*... but Rabid Squirrels 1 took 6th place out of 17 teams and Rabid Squirrels 2 took 14th. For about half the tournament RS 1 was in 2nd place :) Man when we started creaming people the crowd was dumbstruck at times. I am on such a high right now. I just wanted to show the players that pump doesn't mean you will loose. But never in my wildest dreams did I think we would do so well. And best of all it was an OPEN CLASS event, and about 40% of the teams were rookie/novice class. This was our first tournament and first time as a whole team. I am very very excited.... ok.. must stop talking... need to climb a few more walls :) more details and photos to come. |

Congratulations Quickling! I for one am very proud of you. My apologies for not attending, however I have decided that tourny is not my thing. I eagerly await the next rec game you guys get together though. We'll have to set something up in Rochester.

To Quickling, Target, and Les...
You guys ran like a well-oiled machine today, and aside from the incessant spray of paint, you proved to everyone at Fury that pumpers can hold their own. As a team member and an SCP brother, I hold you guys in very high regard. Great showing today. -_- 6th place, guys...We couldn't be any prouder. To all you skeptics out there, pumpers can play speedball! The tourney went as planned, although we almost didn't have 2 teams...thank you to the woman who joined up with Casey and I on RS2. You were a godsend. ;) We took 14th, and I wasn't unhappy at all. It looked to be awful to start, for me anyways. I started with a whole slew of gun problems (my SL-68 II petering out, and my Phantom not holding air), but thanks to big help from Dan, I got my equipment back up and running. The games flew by...we all had a blast, even through the electro-assisted waves of flying Severe. I brought a last-minute invite with me today, and he played not only speedball for the first time today, but also stock-class for the first time today. (He normally runs a Spyder.) He ran my VSC Phantom, and he told me that if we'd have him, he'd be back for our next meet, pump gun in hand. :D Hope to see that team pic posted here soon! Thanks, guys, for a great time. See you next game! :D --Brandon |

I have the pictures. They didn't come out too well beause of the funky lighting in the place, but I don't have anywhere to host them.... Since I am not in school till feburary I cannot easily ftp them to my school page. Anyone have any ideas?
Also I think that us doing this game was doubley important. Most poeple are willing to try pumps at least once but are affraid they will have no one to play with as we are few and far between. But by fielding teams at local events people can see that they do not need to wait to find pump guys to play with pumps. They can see that pump is still a viable option in todays game. Now I don't thin kthe Squirrels will add many players to the pump game, but I already see growing pump tournament interest (in semi-auto events), so I think that if more pump players field teams we will make a difference in how people see us and pump class markers. |
