Description: castle attack plan

B)

well...it is only monday night and the boards are full of opinions (as usual)

Pub Crawling would like to thank and congratulate the defenders for their nerve and style in attempting to defend the castle with pumps...what an effort...

as has been posted by several attackers and defenders...

we were not there to set a record...

this was for several reasons...mostly the *asterisk notion

which is that if it was set, many would say "yes, but...."

thus Pub Crawling put our heads together and thought long and hard about how to contribute to the uniqueness of the game...playing the Paintball Marshalls also allowed us to come to our conclusion...let's make the game a bit of a siege and have fun.

thus with any siege comes terms of surrender...

these terms were meant to be funny and sportsmanlike.

all of this was cleared with the field prior to game time (weeks ahead).

also...I was told by the field, that if we got in too close and were in clear control that it would have to stop for safety and sportsmanship.

this all learned in advance...we chose to add a twist to a twisted game.

this information only left the Pub Crawling team when i gave the motivational speech to the attackers.

in addition...i printed many of the 'insults and smack' posted about semis and Pub Crawling (including my name) on several boards for motivation. this worked very well for us and i thank all who said their 2 cents, for helping promote an excellent day of paintball.

we never meant to be insulting or hurt anybody, nor do i think we did.

paintball rules and so does EMR...

we would never do anything to take away from either.

as far as final times and numbers...i feel the ratio was not 4 to 1 but more in our favor...

and final times....officially i have heard 59.5 minutes from several reliable sources..

we were hoping for a bit longer (just to play more paintball...really...that's it)

but apparently we closed in too far and had clear control...damn excitement :P

I chose to end this game and turn in the sword which i had in my possesion...it was the right thing to do.

it could have easily gone the other way...i feel we just got early momentum and did not let up...

Jim Masse and Myself have had several laughs about this game already...starting in the courtyard, right after the game...and continuing.

i hope this answers any questions or thoughts about Pub Crawling and our intentions Saturday.

we were there to play hard, honest, fun paintball.

please respond here or if you feel it necessary

Congratulations on a successful attack.

While most of the Marshals decided to attack in the second game, I wanted to see what Pub Crawling was like, so I followed P around and gave him support when I could.

I was impressed and learned a bit of how a scenario team functions. It was eye opening and I learned quiet a bit.

I wish it had come down to a different ending. When I heard rumor of how it ended I was angry with the refs for not allowing us a glorious defeat, a blaze of glory to go out in. Lots of people were dismayed by the volume of fire (or so it seemed) but many of us were still gung ho to counter-attack. Bridger's Charge never got to happen much to my dismay. My Celtic heritage causes me to love a glorious defeat more than a sterile victory.

My only regret was that I was to tired to come over to your bunk house for more than a few minutes to talk to P and Big E before I collapsed asleep. The emotional high and let down followed by the second game really wore me down.

I know that I defenitely need to go to EMR again, and need to play in their big games again. Who knows, I may make it down with P for Wolf's Lair. (Job & $ situation will determine that.)

Colin, no gripes here. The game was exactly what it was.....FUN!!! You, the Pub Crawlers, and the rest of the attackers were some of the worthiest adversaries I've ever faced. If the game had been anything less, I would have been disappointed. Good show, my man.

Hey thanks u guys werevery good oppenents. I just wish that all the attackers had the same attitude. I know some were just being dumb. But i am glad to hear that at least ur guys were out really to have fun. Thanks again hope to do it again sometime.

THanks for the good game, and the surprising twist endings. It was a fun day and a fast one. I for one was totally surprised to hear the whistle, maybe because I'm so young or wasn't playing as hard as the others.. but I was shocked that an hour had gone by. I was sure I had only been playing for 20 minutes. :)

I think it would have been fun to play until all of us where put in the dead box.. and then turn around and make us put all the 6 props back into the castle by re-inserting us out the back and making us attack.. all in one game! :)

Now thats a dam good idea. Next time we'll have to do that.

Ill echo the above comments, The attackers were, for the most part playing very honorably. i know there were a few incidents on both sides that were questionable, but i just chaulked those up to the heat of the moment.

The game made me proud to be a part of paintball, and i have renewed hope that the sport as a whole is not lost to the whiney crybaby players we seem to see so often. The hissy fit factor was much lower than i expected, and i think both sides gained allot of respect for each other as result. oh, and i think theres allot more semi players looking for pumps now :)

To Colin and pub crawlers, as well as all of the attackers, thanks for giving us a great game. I dont think any of us will forget this one! -_- -_-

This is Malcolm, CO-Captain of Pubcrawling. I would like to say well done to all pump players for defending the castle valiantly. Castle was a good day for all paintball players! If everybody had half the fun I did then it must of been a great time. All you guys are fantastic players. Myself, I have never truly shot a pump before, and to see you guys make a stand was impressive to say the least. I hope now that people have a better understanding, it is not pumps vs semis, we are all paintball players just out to have some fun on weekends. Thanks for a great weekend.

hey you guys where top notch. I enjoyed finally playing against you on a more level playing field (was black knight last time we met). Sorry for any drunken ramblings I tossed your way.
