Some Final details and reminders:

The SCP Courtesy tent, will be set up on friday, im not sure where yet, but it will be easy to find. Look for the Yellow and white(ish) party tent (if all goes as planned) with a blue(or green, im not sure) extension..its gonna be like 20x30 total, with SCP Banners on it.. just look for the big thing with these on it:

if your bringing cords, lights, or anything else , please clearly label them so we can get them back to you. The community effort is definately appreciated and just goes to show what a great group we really have here!

those not already commited to another group or part of the preexisting game plan are welcome to check in with us, and join our "squad" we will then volunteer our numbers to the general and do everything we can to make sure the defenders whip some serious arse!

No one should feel that their being left out of the plan, unless they choose to be..but you have to speak up if your skipped over..dont be afraid to say "hey?? how can I help, i dont have a job yet.. some will have more "glorious" tasks than others, but every person is important, every task critical. no one will be unimportant..But in the end, the game will be what you make it, so speak up when its necessary, then play like youve never played before, no matter what part you end up with..

we will be on FRS radio channel 2, until game time (the secret channel will be given out at the last possible moment to limit contamination.)

there are spies in our mist, keep your eyes out for "traitors" so we can take the appropriate measures, do not confront them, simply report your findings to the command staff as soon as possible, and dont let on you know about their evil doings. we wont make it easy for them..

bring plenty of water, energy foods, extra clothes to change into (especially if it rains) and some warm bedding if your sleeping at the field, pillow, teddy bear, whatever... itll get cold at night, so be prepared.

Keep an eye on your fellow players, look for signs of dehydration or heat exhaustion, this stuff can happen under any weather conditions. If some one looks pale, or "unwell" give em a yell and remind then to drink some water or tell em they look like they might need a break. we need to look out for each other..

dont forget to check your mask lens, bring extra batteries for your radio or whatever electronics you might need, your medication if you need it, etc... we dont want anyone dropping on the field unless its to get a better angle on the opfor.. :D

stretch before you play, get loose first and avoid cramps.. bring your best players attitude and get ready to have the time of your life!

Helpfull tip: Bring some handy-whips... when your int he dead box and your hands or goggles are greasey from paint, the soapy alcohol takes the stuff right off :)

I dont if this is considered cheating but if u use RainX on ur lenses any paint that getts on there will wipe right off with no smears or smudges. Something i picked up on the national level tourny scene.

I guess it could be cheating if u intend to wipe goggs during the game.

It also helps from keeping the rain from beading on ur lenses. Just runs right off.

Another trick i learned was to scotch guard ur uniforms. But i do know that that is how many top level teams cheat. Paint wipes right off and doesnt leave a mark.

I have been told this by top level Am-teams and comfirmed by pros. Tho no one admits to actually using it.

BRING LOTS OF SOCKS!

Nothing refreshes the body like a clean dry pair of socks. No joking.

although this would seem to fall under "obvious"...bring at least 1 barrel squeegee. I've noticed that while reffing and playing, this seems to be the one item many players forget to pack, because they assumed it was in the bag somewhere. I'll have a t-stick and pullthrough with me just in case. Nothing worse than having a great shot go bad because of goop in the barrel...

I dont if this is considered cheating

Be careful of using "borderline" tactics.

This game will have "player refs" which means that select players(on both sides) will have the authority to pull players for questionable behavior.

So the player next to you may actually be a ref.

This is to help ensure safety and fair play. We will be looking for mask violations, playing on, wiping, etc...Not that I expect this to be a problem inside the castle.
Anyone caught cheating will be considered a target for the Pond Tossers and will be dumped, gear and all, into the swimming hole.

i like that, but i think we should keep the paintball guns dry.. thats kind of like beating up someones car instead of them.,, just a bit wrong.. unless ofcourse they wont get out, or leggo of their gun..

okay, just to be clear, dont assume the person in the pond is less than honorable unless you see them get tossed in , i think the sentance of "dunking" should be announced via bullhorn..

id hate for someone to hop in for a quick swim and people think they were tossed..its been awhile, but ive been known to jump in there myself just to cool down..though ill probably be freezing the whole time being used to a much warmer climate now.. so if you dont hear " Pond tossing team, prepare to toss, TOSS!" chances are the person in the pond is probably okay, and it might be me :D

No offense Pyrate, but dont think just because were pumpers that someone might not cheat in the walls, I dont know all these guys, so ill watch everywhere for cheaters,

I go out on bounces 9 timesout of ten

and rain-x I shoulda thought of that, has anyone researched the effects that may have on the lens long term? cant be any worse than running headlong into branches..

Im bringing a turkey, if were playing and stuff is cooking will there be someone there to watch so theres no burned food? just curious.

you know, I am so sick of rain- Ill play in it, but man it stinks to wait a year to thrown the shindig of a lifetime just to have it rain. thats it, were going to have to build an indoor field. anyone for a good old fashioned barn raising? all it has to do is encompass the entire area surrounding & including the castle

oh by the way the bags the paint come in are some of the most waterproof I have seen, just put on one pair of socks put an empty paintbag on put another sock over it, stuff it in your shoe. youll stay dry as lng as you do not go in rivers

I know the scotch guard treatment is what a lot of front guys do because it doesnt leave any residue. Iknow that is more for cheaters. I have never done it nor do i plan to. But the rainx i have been using for about a year on my old jts and it worked fine. One application lasts over a month unless u wash ur lenses. Now vforce not sure but i have seen plenty of people do it. I plan on it.

The only down side to the scotch gurad treatment is that every hit is very visable. As it doesnt get a chance to soak into the faberic. But i look at that as a plus because it means u can see the hit on the player better.

I'm no expert on RainX and different googles. But I have heard that you need to be carefull. As some lenses are 'coated' or treated and the RainX will increase the wear of this layer of usually antifog coating.
For the VForce I think this is the case as it's a single lens sytems. As opposed to the dual pane thermo lense setup of most JTs. But I've also heard the even JT's have a coating on the external lenses.
Personnally, I don't want RainX anywhere near my gun or mask. If you get it wrong, or wipe it funny, you'll make things worse. Sure, it's wickablity is awesome, but it can also cause alot of hazing if you mess it up.

Dang, that's what I forgot. No squegy. Lost in the woods a few games ago. Oh well, no big deal.

ladymarshal - September 25, 2003 03:09 PM (GMT)
im using it because I have suffered :vangry:
through the rain and fog and I hate it

you know what ?
I need a new lens after this anyway
so... the heck with it,
if it goes BAD Ill get another.
