God DAMN I"M SO JAZZED.
Mother Nature might not be helping that day.
Looks like overcast & rain, low in mid-40's (for you campers) and highs in mid-upper 60's.

On one hand, this will mean that every game I played at EMR this year will be in the rain. And that gets pretty miserable. On the other hand, this is a historic paintball event heh, and well, rain, electros...

Having never owned one, does rain really effect an electro that much?

And won't they have counter measures in place for rain, being experienced electro owners?

Just wondering. :)

The higher end ones, no it won't affect them too much unless its a squall-type rain. But some, for instance the Black Dragun Compact, do not have water-tight grip frames, so water can get into the battery and workings inside.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it would have to be dunked under water or something. But it'll still get in barrels and whatnot, if proper precautions aren't taken. I'll make sure everyone on our side has it done. I know that they just figure "well my balls are just going all over the place and I can't hit anything so I'll just shoot more!" heh. Once I have rain-proofed my sniper II, it is just as accurate as it always is, so long as it's not driving sheets of rain actually hitting the balls off course.

Actually, for anyone shooting an SC Phantom, rain can be a big problem. The gap between the sc feed block and breech can let in a lot more water than you'd think, and once a ball gets wet, it starts to swell...well, you know the rest. Swollen balls are *never* a good thing!

Maybe I should have phrased that differently...

Anyhoo, the general attitude of semi players toward rain tells me that many are just not going to be playing to their potential. Plus, many of them will be shooting uphill, so unless their goggles have windshield wipers on them, we're going to be in visual control of the field.

I'm screwd if it rains. My spring feed does not like water... seems like it's "find an excuse to buy a new paintgun" time :)
