Title: .68 Delta?

z-zero - September 18, 2003 05:02 PM (GMT)
Anybody here have any exposure to this marker? I have thought about picking one up, just for some darkside fun, but is it decent? I don't expect a whole lot from it but its still like $120. I have already looked at the SASE forums but alas I don't feeling like sending an email to get a password, when I could just ask here. I want to get a new pistol but I'm just so indecisive. Any recommendations or just some plain ol good advice would be great.

I recomend the Zeus, mine was great. Or, even better, wait a few months until Goob over at paintballstuff.com gets the design issues worked out on the Sidekick Semi/Short models and pick up one of those. They are great, light, reliable, accurate, awesome warranty, and it's not just another PT knock-off. You may want to email him and find out. But if you absolutly want a PT, get the Zeus. I recomend the original model, don't waste your money on the G2 just for the flashy accessories.

I've heard the sidekick semi's leak. Are these the bugs your talking about with the short? If they would hold a charge all-day I would probally get one. I'd rather suffer velocity issues than have a slow leak problem. Thats probally just me though. Thanks for the input.

Hey Zep, you want to trade that Zeus for a PGP? Email me if interested.

Yes the leak in the Sidekick is the bug I was talking about. Right now the semi models are not for sale anymore, as they are trying to get the issues worked out. Goob could probably tell you how long it will be. Of course, you can always just not pierce the cartridge til you are ready to fire. It works.

What about the Zeus G2 I hear there is a barrel size insert kit coming out for them. That would be pretty neat. Of course the g2 is more money, plus the inserts would be additional. Anybody here have expierence with either of these?

Personally I recommend either the Zeus line. Or actually the Core ZX. I have 2 of those along with my Zeus. They are identical! ZX is a total knock off, everything. Looks, design, internals, all. So it's just as reliable or so I've seen.

These are FINALLY the first semi-sidearm that I've owned which didn't leak after 2 12-grams, or didn't cost my entire bank account with a 6-month wait. The Zeus and Core series markers are great.

Expect 10 shots though, tops. Just enough to finish a single clip! Also expect to be surprised at it's weight for its size. They are quite hefty, though recoil/kick is minimal to non-existent.

The Deltas I've seen resemble too much of the PT-line of pistols. And with that in mind I've been reluctant to get one. Anything with the word PT in it = junk! Valves suck, and they either are made with too high a velocity or too low a velocity. No actual middle ground. I know, I've had too many bad experiences with them to ever give them another chance.

If you want, give the Delta a try. If you don't want to gamble, look at the Zeus or CoreZX.

Of the two...get the Core. Armotech customer service absolutely sucks. Many dealers have quit carrying anything Armotech because of their business practices. I waited 2.5 months for my Zeus...and I've heard even longer waits from other people. At least Core has decent service from what I've heard.

meph it's actually a half year wait with palmers :)

Meph - October 17, 2003 11:57 AM (GMT)
Oh my bad. 6-months isn't a half year.

Hehe...that's what I was thinking.

i get 20 reliable shots out of my core at 280 fps. meph maybe your velocity is too high ( when i tried the core at factory standard velocity i only got ten shots but after i adjusted i could get 20 reliable and 28 total shots)

ps im also working on the core to make it a bit stock class (already set up for the rock just gotta figure out and cock thing)
