Description: ..no, really!

Thanks to Pyrate who pointed this out at IPR. For those who have never been to EMR, here's a tweakable photo covering about 2 square miles. The row of bunkhouses can be seen on the left. Our final stand will be towards the lower right. Using the interface, you can zoom in/out/around, and even look at your own house!

Neat. B) :)

I've found you can also make it into a topo map. The resolution is not very helpful for that though.

The photos are at least 4 years old though. Because I found my work and the demolition to a few buildings hasn't even begun yet to a place where a gym was finished being built 4 years ago.

oh my... go to New York City and you can see an ariel photo of the World Trade Center :(

[edit]

here's where me and my friends play outlaw ball. In an abandoned cement factory and its surrounding land. Right in the middle of town too, lol.

It's the huge barren area in the bottom of the screen...

...and sorry for going sort of off topic! :pow:

Ladymarshal has a couple pics taken in the castle itself up on the Marshals site:

http://www.pbmarshals.com/EMR.html

Let it load and scroll to the bottom of the page. :D

The Acme maps are more than ten years old by known visual cues, but it's fun to play with.

I'm going with at least 8 years old for some of the photos. I found a pic of Silver Stadium in Rochester that was torn down in early '96

I had made a map of EMR a few years ago to show some friends..

this is the site I grabbed my images from:
http://terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?t=1&...=23176&z=18&w=2

it's controls are a little more intuitive, and it has a date of the images (15 Apr 1992 for this pic of EMR), but it uses the same imagery data as most other places.. USGS..

Rath, with a little photoshopping and some patience, the Topo can be overlayed on the aerial and you can see the Hill of Death I've told you about..but mainly it's that group of trees at the north end of the castle. I'd post the photoshop files I've made but they are not modem friendly and I have no real place to host them (30MB Zipped)

(hmm.. it's also kinda scary when I can click right on the map and be fairly close to EMR... )

=P
