Title: Bad Weather for EMR's Quest
Description: Rain = Poo
TrojanMan - April 1, 2005 03:16 PM (GMT)
So according to the
Weather - it's supposed to be nasty for Quest this weekend.
:( rats :(
I might as well still go, but I'm just bummed is all. And now my company wants to send me to New Orleans in the next few weeks which might screw up Castle Conquest for me. Not that I mind getting paid extra to go to New Orleans, but... I hope I can still make CC XIX!
*sigh* Maybe everything will work out fine. I hope it does, but... right now it doesn't look good...

EMR= Endless Mud & Rain.
It's just not an event at EMR without the rain.
Though I have been blessed and the weather has been great eveytime I've played there. :P

Well I was saving this utill a later date but I appllied for a new position at work and if I get it I will be M-F 7-4. No more weekends and no more holidays. No more weekends means better availabilaty for the EMR trips and paintball in general.
Everyone pray to the paintball gods for me.

I'll pray to the dark gods too.. I seem to have better luck with them.. I'll just need to "borrow" a first born or loved one..

*Phew!* Now that was a muddy, rainy, messy weekend! I think that mountain actually got a few feet shorter from losing all that mud!
I gave up trying to stay dry after about 5 minutes. But all in all, not a bad time. I'd say about 100 people showed up, so it was a decent-sized game, all things considered. The sides were a bit unbalanced at first when everyone wanted to be knights, but they evened up after a while. That sort of thing seems to happen every year anyhow...
In spite of the mud, I think everyone had a pretty good time. I saw Hobobrent and a few others around and turnout was fairly good what for all the rain. Everyone I brought had a great time and we'll all be going back for CC XIX.
A few things I learned about playing in the rain:
*My brother's Q-loader doesn't like wet, squishy paint. He was chopping all day. Something about a "flame-thrower effect..."
*It's really hard to break a ball on an umbrella...
*Empty paintball bags can be worn over the socks and under the shoes to keep your feet dry. My girlfriend loved that little solution right there...
*I don't care what kind of thermal lens your mask has, diving headfirst into mud puddles will "fog" your goggles...
Great weekend, though! At least good enough to give me the monday morning leg pains... yeah!
