Title: NY Pump Day, 9th of April
Description: Indoor Paintball at Play To Win

oldskool - March 5, 2005 02:09 AM (GMT)
Okay, I'm making it more official. Lets have another pump day on the 9th of April. Hopefully everyone who made it last time can be there again.

Who: Everyone who reads this.
What: Stockclass/pump paintball.
When: April 9th, 2005
Where: Play To Win
Why: Because we had so much darn fun last time! :D I also still need to meet easix, CrashSTP and Les. :P

Hopefully a month is enough time to get things set up. Soon the weather will be nice enough to start playing outside again. I know Spring Castle is coming up, I'm gunning for that also. Cheers!

LeeC - March 7, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
I had a blast last Saturday. I'm going to try and make this as well.No promises seeing as I have already scheduled 1st ,3rd ,and 5th weekends of April for paintball.

Meph - March 14, 2005 12:48 PM (GMT)
I'll make a mark in my calander and see what happens. Will try my best to make it there.

oldskool - March 22, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)
Are we still on for the 9th? Matt said he's down for more stockclass action, he's comtemplating buying a Palmerized PGP and PMI-1. :D

StrokerAce - March 23, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
I'm planning on it, sounds good. If Ben's in, we're definitely a go (he's kinda my ride :P )

I actually got the Sterling functioning...so I'll be using that this time ;)

Anyone know if they are coming yet?

oldskool - March 25, 2005 02:50 PM (GMT)
I'm coming with my friend Matt. LeeC is in and frflow may come also if he can tolerate the ride. :P

Sheazer - March 25, 2005 05:05 PM (GMT)

Update and bump to the top. Myself, LeeC, frflow and bouncer from the MCB will be making the journey to Syracuse. Matt will be trekking over with his "new" to him Palmerized PGP and camera for more action pics. I hope to see everyone next Saturday. If we are lucky maybe Meph and Easix will join us. Anyone else plan on making it please post up, I'd like to match the numbers we had last time.

amhildreth - April 4, 2005 10:19 AM (GMT)
I'm in...

Sheazer - April 6, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
Well I'll have to sit this one out guys, can't get off work. I'll catch up next time, and I really feel we should make this a once a month deal. Have fun guys!

oldskool - April 6, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
I'll be honest guys, I don't know if I'm gonna go out to Syracuse if I can't get more commitment. I'm driving 3 other guys out there to play. I'm sorry Andy but I would really feel crappy to drive all that way when I could have just played locally with these guys. Target, Stroker, Quickling? You guys out there? Can you make it? I'm debating making a slightly longer haul to MA to play in the scenario since I hear there are some pumpers in that neck of the woods. I don't want to bail out since I'm the one that started it but I don't want to spend all that gas to get out there especially with Castle around the corner. Thanks guys, please let me know your intentions whether it be yea or nay.

Les - April 7, 2005 01:06 AM (GMT)
I will be there at 10 am. I have to leave at 12:30 due to the all county orchestra concert with my 11 year old daughter...... Les

StrokerAce - April 7, 2005 04:24 PM (GMT)
Quickling and I are gunna be there. It's a plan, and we're bringing our newest Squirrel, Ben, out for the game as well.

amhildreth - April 7, 2005 08:22 PM (GMT)
Tracy - if you can't make the hike, then don't sweat it. It sounds like at least 4 of us will be there for the throwdown, and that's enough to represent.

oldskool - April 7, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
I wasn't worried about making the trek, I was just worried about getting there and having no one be there. I hadn't heard from anyone except for Andy and Sheazer had to pull out. I should be bringing 3 others so we should be in for a good time. I'll let the other MCB'ers know that GAME ON!

Quickling - April 8, 2005 12:13 AM (GMT)
Sorry.. Ace and I almost never respond. Yes we will be there. Pretty much if the event is in the CNY area.. we are going be there.

We play too much ball...

Or not enough.. :P

oldskool - April 8, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry guys I rejoiced too soon. I was informed by my significant other of an engagement she forgot to tell me about and that I must attend to. I feel like poop since I was bringing 3 other guys and I was so looking forward to this. I can still play on Saturday but the 6 hour round trip makes this undoable for me. :( I'm sorry, have fun and don't forget to take pics. :D

P.S. I WILL make Castle and I WILL be there for the WHOLE weekend.

amhildreth - April 8, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
It looks like it will be closer to 11am before I get to the field, but I'm in.

Target - April 9, 2005 01:05 AM (GMT)
Count me in.
Sorry not to have responded earlier.

Dan

Hey Guys... I owe you all an apology.now working 3 jobs, and being rotated to nights on Thursday night, i just plain slept through my alarms Saturday Morning. The room was dark and the kids were quiet, i ended waking up at 10 am.

amhildreth - April 10, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
We certainly missed you guys, but the 5 of us had a pretty good time anyway. We did notice alot of "stacking" happening in the field, with several tourney players or wanna-bees being pitted against a group of 12 year-old renters. It took a while for me to get into the groove of things, and having several games of 8v8 on a tiny field didn't help much. It was pretty interesting that once the Squirrels got rolling, we started to draw respect/fear/both from the walk-on semis. A few players actually refused to play against us for fear of "being creeped up on and owned" by a pump player. The off-field coversations were actually more enjoyable than most of the games. It was also unanimously agreed upon that Stroker Ace is no longer allowed to think out loud in a public place....his neurons seem to misfire in disturbing ways

StrokerAce - April 10, 2005 08:40 PM (GMT)
Yea, yesterday was a good time. I've played so much in the past few months that I don't feel so guilty about socializing with the guys more than actually playing, although we did get in some decent games. I didn't play with my regular speed, but I love my new Sterling...it shoots like a dream. Although it's taking some getting used to - I still play better with my ol' single shot, Ghetto Nellie :P

We did see some stacking of the teams - and that's partially due to the referees and staff at Play To Win, who don't seem to care as much as the old Fury refs did. It's not cool to see a tourney team whupping on a bunch of newbs with rental 98s. I know of one instance, where Target and I were both in the deadbox, and there were just a pair of newbies left on our team, so he tried to help them out by telling them where to move, and he got yelled at by the ref...now, when it comes down to that, give the young guns a helping hand. They're the future of our sport.

...Stack as they will, though, I still get the biggest rush from the 'Hey, let's do us electros versus you pump guys'...and we still give 'em a run for their money, even on the off chance that we don't beat 'em ;)

We seem to get respect from the most part everytime we go to the field. There's still always a few 13 year olds with Shockers ready to 'put us in our place', so to speak, but generally speaking, we put up a good showing, we're friendly, we promote pump play, and we're welcomed with open arms wherever we go. I love this group of guys, and I wouldn't hesitate to play with them, ever. Not to brag or anything, but these guys are great. Shall we see a NY crew at PP II? I most certainly hope so.

Thanks to Target and Quickling for helping Ben to get his Sniper running at the proper velocity - their tech work saved him a lot of grief, since he really has no idea what he's doing with a 'Cocker. I know you guys have been an essential part of helping me out on a number of occasions.

And yea, I prolly shouldn't speak my thoughts in public anymore...since I'm not exactly the most PC guy you've ever met. It's not everyday, though, that I get to go to McDonald's and hear FOX News commentary on the Michael Jackson situation. But yea, if Andy's now questioning my psychology, then I must be pretty screwed up

All in all, a good day.

--Brandon :)

Quickling - April 10, 2005 09:32 PM (GMT)
I am starting to grow tired of PTW. It is no longer the Fury that it once was. After hearing a few comments about being an arsehole for overshooting, not moving (I was at the 50 mind you. Every game), and other comments. I wanted to slap up those 13yr old credit card kids.

They are wearing me down some.

But other than that it was a good time to see Dan and Andy again. So the socialization made up for the crap. Can't wait to see you guys again.

amhildreth - April 11, 2005 02:05 PM (GMT)
It was pretty funny to have other players yelling at Quickling for not moving up enough...although he was always at the 50 or better, and most of the people griping were usually less than 15ft away from the start box. My biggest blah was a lack of etiquite with some of the walk-ons. We would decide on bunkers before the whistle, and more than once I was shoved out in the open when 2 other players would suddenly slide in next to me because thet felt like being there instead.

oldskool - April 12, 2005 03:08 AM (GMT)
Sorry to have missed it, sounds like you guys had a blast. frflow, bouncer and I ended up playing at a local field. Woodsball, and it was a great time although I wish we could've got more play time. I had to bail early to go to Hooters. The rec players didn't know what hit them. We had even teams as far as numbers went but we were outgunned since our team had 2 PMI-1's and a KP2SF. It didn't matter, we just called out positions all day, watched them get antsy, shoot at our trees and when they ran out of paint we rushed them. Too funny, ever see the look on someones face when a Hawaiian shirted, PMI-1 totting nut is screaming "Surrender or Die" from 5 ft away?
Anyways, look forward to seeing you guys at Castle in a couple of weeks. I'll be at the MCB bunkhouse unless there is no room at the inn in which case I don't know where I'll be.

Sheazer - April 13, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
I wish I coulda made it out, glad you guys enjoyed it. I really wanna see a once a month pump day for us guys, I know I think I could swing it. Two jobs is hamping my playing time, but far enough in advance I can clear a day or so.
