Title: SCP Bunkhouse
Description: Will there be one?

Sheazer - February 27, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
Hey, is SCP securing a Bunkhouse for Spring Castle? If so I'd like to get in on it, if not.. I'll camp it out.

CrashSTP - February 27, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
Yes there is - When you pre-reg just put SCP bunkouse on the form.

Sheazer - February 28, 2005 05:20 AM (GMT)
Okay thanks.

amhildreth - February 28, 2005 12:44 PM (GMT)
I requested one for "Rabid Squirrels", and there's plenty of room for you to drop in. It looks like the bulk of us will be running some "old-school" semi action for the Castle attack this time.

Sheazer - February 28, 2005 04:50 PM (GMT)
Alright, I still need to finalize it with work, but hopefully I'll be there. Well, I may use a stroker if we rocking semi's.

Brimstone - March 1, 2005 11:22 PM (GMT)
is there anymore room in a bunkhouse for me?

golden220 - March 29, 2005 02:25 PM (GMT)
And me? Oh and would you guys mind if a non-stock player came along? Otherwise I'll hope to see you on the field.

amhildreth - March 29, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
C'mon along! The more the merrier

CrashSTP - March 30, 2005 06:11 AM (GMT)
plenty of room actually - in fact so much room at this point if we dont see some more the SCP bunkhouse will be given to someone else - as it sits right now we only have 2 paid pre-regs for the SCP bunkhouse..... I thought we had alot more than that already so if you have pre-reg'd and wanted the SCP bunkhouse call the field and make sure you marked the team as SCP - I believe we are all attacking

CrashSTP - April 5, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
UPDATE GUYS
as of yesterday there are only 2 pre reg'ed SCP players and 2 Rabid Squirrels for the SCP bunkhouse. We will lose the bunkhouse if we don't see alot of additional pre regs soon

Brimstone - April 6, 2005 12:04 PM (GMT)
well i think the 2 scperd are me and steel

Drum - April 7, 2005 01:22 PM (GMT)
Hi guys,
We may well be able to help each other here. We at MCB are gathering 46 under the flag of Carter's COmmando (hey we need a flag!) and, although we have secured one over flow bunkhouse, we are expecting more than we can easily accomodate. There are only 12 bunks in the Carter's Commando bunhouse and our overflow has 21. That leaves with +/- 13 souls looking for bunks.

If you guys can accomodate our overflow and save your bunkhouse reservation then we will both be set.

Just a thought. Bob, please guide us.

D.

Brimstone - April 10, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
well i have no problem being one of the 2 prereged as of now...

Drum - April 12, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
Well... don't all jump up at once!

Listen guys, this Castle COnquest is going to be the biggest one ever! Currently there are 400+ pre-regs!!!! We are well on our way to seeing a Castle Conquest with over 1000 atackers vs. more than 200 defenders. A new EMR record!

If y'all want to sleep on the ground, that makes no never mind to me, but if you SCP guys are looking to save yourself some spots in a bunkhouse under your banner, then y'all better get cracking and recruit some more bunkhousers or bring your tents, groundsheets and firewood. Spring nights in the mountains of New Milford can get pretty chilly....

If you want a home away from home when you are at EMR for Castle, then you had better pre-reg before April 16. That is when the registration and paint price discounts come to an end and it is also when your SCP bunkhouse will be filled up by dozens of MCB whores. So snap it up while you still can!

Over and OUT.

I'll be pre-registering at least 5 people. Currently, we don't really have anywhere to stay. I was thinking about putting us down for the SCP bunkhouse and the should help out your numbers a bit. Make sure it stays open until at least wednesday afternoon when I'll be pre-registering and I'll add 5 more (at least) to the ranks.

Hopefully that'll help out quite a bit. Let me know if I should do anything special.

CrashSTP - April 12, 2005 09:28 PM (GMT)
Friday if there are not enough SCP'ers the SCP will be combined with Rabid Squirrels and the over flow from MCB guys

TrojanMan - April 14, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
AAAArrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!

Now I know why the castle by that name...

Just paid $750.00 USD to pre-register. *gasps for air* Pant, Pant...

9 players and 7 cases of paint. Yikes! That's just a lot of money, but I'm absolutely positive it'll be worth it! And at least the majority of it is for other people's entry and paint, so it's not a really huge bill just for me.

In any case, I'm super hyped now. Wooooo CC XIX!!!! YEAH! I registered us under the SCP bunkhouse to try and give us some souls for the count closing in on that magic 15, but I think we're still a little short. My nine plus the two already would make 11, so I think we still need 4 more in order to seal the deal.

Also, I'm thinking I need to bring the motor home up just for transportation alone so we don't have to bring two cars. It'll only sleep two or three, max, but now we should have bathroom facility, heat/AC if needed, a stove, microwave and, most importantly, refrigeration. You're all welcome to use anything if you need it and at least our beer will be cold! One thing I need to ask, however, is if there is a plan to smooth some of the 'roads' at EMR. I guess Crash is the guy to ask?

It's a heavy vehicle and the LAST thing I want to do is get it stuck. Is there any plan to at least fill in some of the huge divots in the 'roads' before CC XIX? I showed up to Quest and the roads got pretty torn up that weekend from all the rain so I was a little bit concerned. Do I have a chance of getting in and out with a motor home? (it's not a huge one, but still larger than most trucks)

Oh, and just so I don't have to knock on every door when I get in, which bunkhouse is ours? And one last thing just because I'm curious... if there's going to be 1000 people, that's going to be at least 200 cars, even if EVERYONE carpools. What's the plan for overflow parking? Speedball field? Just curious...

Thanks guys, I look forward to seeing everyone there! :D

EqualsP - April 14, 2005 04:07 PM (GMT)
as to which bunk is yours. For the last few events there has been a sign up infront of the proshop showing who is assigned to which bunk and camping area. There has also been a duct tape label on the doors of the bunk houses with teams assigned to them.

=P

CrashSTP - April 14, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
Roads are at about 70% now and will be smooth again by Castle - Alot of water on top of Frost leaves a big mess. I have a few truck loads of gravel on the way for the real trouble areas also
parking will be
field near bunk houses
field behind campgrounds
field to the left of the road coming in before you enter the field
there will be field staff running parking
Bunkhouses will be marked as Equals P remarked
also if you are bringing an RV RSVP a spot for it with Blue ( emrpb@epix.net )

TrojanMan - April 15, 2005 03:28 PM (GMT)
Thanks, Crash!

Glad to hear the roads have new life! All that rain and melting snow really did a number on everything up there. I'll email Blue right now about the RV. Don't need a full-fledged campsite if they're all spoken for, just someplace to park it is all. Thanks again!

Brimstone - April 15, 2005 03:39 PM (GMT)
trojan your a god send...... i didnt want my pgps and parrana lb expesed to those damn gun whores!

CrashSTP - April 19, 2005 02:13 PM (GMT)
Huh?????
please explain.

Drum - April 19, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
Bob, I think Brimstone here is saying that he is glad that Trojan did such a nice job of recruiting warm bodies for the SCP bunkhouse because he was afraid to have his old school guns in the same hut with the MCB overflow, which might offer him oodles of dough for his babies.

In truth, I suspect that Brimstone is more concerned about how much money he will spend on old school goodness with the MCB'ers than anything else.

It sounds as if bunkhouse row will be the scene of a very respectable old school paintball gear swap meet.

Seems to get bigger every year, as a matter of fact. One day, we may see people driving up for the swap meet and the swap meet alone.

TrojanMan - April 19, 2005 04:54 PM (GMT)
Did someone say swap meet?

I have to admit that it's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the event so much. Plus, a great friend of mine whom I'm bringing just has a knack for coming home from EMR with more markers than he left with, so I'm sure we'll be buying, trading or selling SOMETHING. Heck, my friend's already trying to scrape cash together to make a go for 10-shot-kid's KP-2. "OoooOOOOOooooh, Palmers!", he says...

In any case, it's always fun just to see what everybody's got even if you don't 'swap' anything. And don't worry, Brimstone - we'll protect your more 'precious' pieces from wandering eyes and wallets.

Though I'm convinced MCB has some secret brass-detecting machine that can home in on any old sheridan marker - especially if it's nickel plated. Oh, and those Palmer's stickers? Yeah, I'm pretty sure they give off some special scent that's detectable from miles away and they just swarm...

CrashSTP - April 19, 2005 07:24 PM (GMT)
Ah.... I see now

amhildreth - April 19, 2005 10:19 PM (GMT)
As soon as I get my PMI1-DF back from Crash, that baby is getting hidden away. She goes home with ME! :P

Brimstone - April 20, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
drum is correct....

TrojanMan - April 25, 2005 01:29 PM (GMT)
I got an email from Blue over the weekend regarding the bunkhouse and RV and figured those others staying in the bunkhouse would appreciate an update.

Tentatively, the SCP bunkhouse is #24 which is almost at the top of the hill. Blue says they had some problems with the wiring and we may or may not have electricity. As such, it would be a good idea to bring a few items to make living a bit more comfortable. Heaters, lights, etc. Additionally, my RV will be parked in camping space F and of course it's open to everyone for cooking, refrigeration, etc. It'll probably end up being the ladies' sleeping quarters. I've got a full tank of propane (30#, I believe) so we can heat water for coffee, use the oven for munchies, etc. For dinners, I was going to try and find a nice charcoal grill and do steaks and the like. If anyone's got a decent portable charcoal grill that they'd like to bring, it would help. All I have is a lemon-shaped grill from "Mike's Hard Lemonade" that is so thin and rickety it won't retain heat and likes to tip over. So, I'd rather not use that one. I suppose we're also looking for battery-powered lanterns/lights (everyone bring a flashlight at least), propane heaters and deffinitely seating. Folding camping chairs, those nice nylon collapsible ones, even plastic porch furniture if you have room to bring it. I can see us being short on seating for sure.

For food purposes, I'll make a stop at Costco and pick up a super-mega-family size pack of steaks and potatoes and stuff like that to augment food we'll get from the players' party. I hear they have about 200 pizzas ordered for that, but clearly that's not quite enough for over 800 VERY hungry people. Personally, I'd just as soon cook something up at the bunkhouse and leave the pizza for those who couldn't bring cooking facilities with them. We'll also be donating some brownies, chips n' things to the bake sale/player's party to help out a bit as well. In any case, steaks and baked potatoes if you want in. Someone let me know if you've got a decent grill so I don't have to rely on my Mike's hard lemonade POS. It'd be a big help!

We'll also be bringing PLENTY of drinks, beers, gatorade, sodas and other beverages and we're happy to share. The only problem I can see is having enough ice. Both bagged edible-grade for drinks as well as for coolers and the like. After we load up 9 people, their gear plus food and supplies into the RV, we'll pick up as much ice in coolers as we can, but I don't think we'll be able to fit much and it really wouldn't hurt to have more. If you bring ice, I doubt it'll go to waste. We'll also have plenty of 16-oz. 'party cups' to go around as well but bringing your own mug is always recommended.

If you can think of anything else to bring, by all means bring it (space permitting). I should be able to bring enough food for quite a few people, but extra is always good. Chips, veggies, and stuff like that will certainly help out. Hopefully everything will go pretty smoothly and we'll have a great time! See everyone there!

Post back if you think you can bring a heater or grill and we'll be in business! Thanks in advance.

Brimstone - April 25, 2005 08:35 PM (GMT)
ill bring h20, a space heater, some other beverages, and some flashlights

stainless steel - April 26, 2005 01:13 AM (GMT)
I have tons of hotdogs. I'll try and get a 24 pack of gatorade also, which should come in handy. I'll bring paper plates just incase.
