Title: for someone who didn't go last year,

the underdog - January 13, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
but is sooo going this year. gotta couple of questions about last and this years event.

what and are teams? pb marshals vs. scp? who are the carter commandos (do they all use carters? named after a guy named carter?)

what are the technical/philosophical differences between the two. it seems to be a friendly rivalry, but what is based on. i.e. pbmarshals use any kind of pump while stockers use scp stuff. or the only difference is different website address. i mean i know that some pb-marshals are members here and stuff, but i just want to know who and what i'm exactly fighting for and against!

also who "officialy" won last year. is that what the trophey decides are was it just a novelty prop worth more points in the over all tally.

for all who care, this will be my first official big/scenario game. and the two man tourney will be the newly formed team: third eye vision's first tournament. alot of milestones will be reached this year, i cannot wait :)

EqualsP - January 13, 2005 11:22 PM (GMT)
teams: this side vs that side.. this side will be mainly made up of SCP, that side will be mainly marshals
Carter Commands: a bunch of fruit loops who like to make thier guns annoyingly loud, wear ugly shirts picked out by someone who's Color Blind and tend to hang out at mcarterbrown.com
philosophical differences? everything goes for guns, but you actually have it backwards.. last year the majority of the SCP players tended to use everything pump, while the Marshals tended to use mostly Stock class 12g rockncock markers

who won? I.. errr... We did.

The hand was something I stole from the Marshals base and gave to Maverick. The conversation as I'm looting thier base
Jim: "that isn't part of the storyline, it's not worth any points"
me: "Is it a personal item?"
jim: "no"
me: "then i'm taking it, come and get it..."

I have no clue if it was originally meant to be part of the storyline or not..

CrashSTP - January 13, 2005 11:26 PM (GMT)
Teams - still being set up now but the core will be SCP vs PbMarshals as they are the largest 2 groups we see at the field

Carter Commando's - an Ad Hoc team comprised of members from the mcarterbrown website ( www.mcarterbrown.com ) Usually led by Dr.um or Incyner8

Difference between all of these? basically friendships and affilations to webpages

The trophy was a hand made from 12 grams done by MarshalFounder holding a badge. And We won - the people that attended and SCP took home the trophy.

great - we'll get you hooked very quickly

rathbaster - January 13, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)
To be truthful there were probably as many people who are Marshals on our (SCPs) side as there were on the Marshal's side. Crash STP, Comovartia, all the Cancons...and myself. Probably quite a few I missed in there. Affiliation meant nothing (for the most part).

I agree I know of more than one PbM state coordinator that played for SCP and regular SCP poster who defected to the Marshals

Then you picked a great game to start with! PP1 was one of the best games that I have EVER attended since I started playing the game back in 1987 - and some of the best paintball fun I have had. I am sure you won't be dissapointed!

Look forward to seeing ya' there!

Last years PP was the first one I had ever attended. I dont regret any of it for a second. It took us 11 hours to drive the 950 miles. And was well worth it.

Chem X
The EMR park is a whole different experience. It will more than likely addict you.

Hey now I resemble that remark! Although at the time of PP I wasn't privy to the Aloha shirt attire and went with the black shirt ensemble, which matched up pretty well with the fashion sported by Last Rites. :D

Just think =p, the lovely sound of loudened goodnees thundering in the distance. You forgot we like good beer also, and didn't accentuate that as our only redeeming quality. :)

I am SO after your gang this year, obviously you need more fun in the way with last years show. I think we were on opposite sides of the flanks all day long.

MMM, I wonder if I can louden a Buzzard...Tape the holes, add the Intimidator......
BANG!

excellent -_-

the 4 of us will be ready :D

I mean, it was kind of repetitive last year.. recycle, kill general, occupy base, recycle, kill general, wash, rinse, repeat :P

OK, this settles it. I am going to do my best to attend. probably won't be able to register until after prereg is over b/c I want to make sure I'll be ABLE to attend (aka, have the time and money), then I'll need help getting TO EMR.

Most likely will play SCP or Carters Commandos, as I am both an SCP guy and an MCB junkie, heh heh.

I meant the other middle, subjective to where we run into each other..... IF we both run, we might be able to have a nice 5 minute one on one, before our, um, slower, teammates catch up..... :D

EqualsP - February 1, 2005 05:50 PM (GMT)
every paintball player needs to get to EMR atleast once in thier career. The place is impressive and the field regulars are fun to play with and against.

That will be tough, MCB plays on PbMarshalls side.

Finnigan - February 1, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
Right! So he has decided that he will either be playing for one side or the other. He's an assertive man.

No, it just means that I won't be playing as a marshal. And either way, after that event, my title will probably go from "Sneaky bastard in training" to "Certified sneaky bastard and holy terror", heh heh.

You'll have a lot longer than 5 minutes before I get anywhere near the middle. I ran once last year, and that was right in front of the camera. Once I past it I walked again.
Besides, we didn't need to run last year. We just walked right past everyone, shot Jim, then took over your base. :P

to read all this posts you would think the whole game was just to shoot me

amhildreth - February 17, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
Actually, the whole point was for the Marshals to do the work of gathering the props, assembling the superweapon, having us take all of the props and weapon from you, and THEN shoot you. You were just a bigger part of the picture! :P

amhildreth - February 17, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
I was watching some of the DVD earlier today, and it reminded just how true that strategy was. The other apparent strategy was for me to tell Mav to "keep your head down and watch your ***". I almost forgot that one until I heard myself saying it on the disc.

Maverick - February 18, 2005 02:09 AM (GMT)
lol, yeah..it was a rare moment when i didnt have some one yelling at me to get back in the command post...but i still managed to get few elliminations despite being imprisoned by own teammates.. :P

amhildreth - February 18, 2005 02:01 PM (GMT)
although we damn near kept you wrapped in a tarp and hidden in the walls, at least YOU now hold the "trophy" instead of Jim

That's all I was planning to do even before I got the assassin role. Unfortunately they didn't show it in the video, but when they asked in the opening briefing who wanted to shoot Jim my hand was the first in the air. :D

Mavericks best line:
" Get these people off my field"
When there were a couple of Carters Commandos behind our HQ.

You mean there was another objective for the game. I missed that. I guess I'll have to pay more attention this year to the other objectives.

You know, i was concerned about that because when i turned around, i saw the camera, and i thought i had used a more "colorful" term.. so ive been worried about that since the game..fortunately it ended up that the "NY" in me didnt actually come out...
that was during what was probably the strongest push on our base, and we had the least available man power at the time. there were only a few of us to fight it off, and everyone was low on paint, and most werent moving up to stop them..i ran out completely , or i thought i had, until i remembered the trusty old splatty in my tac holster. i was going to shoot myself out if it looked like wed get over run, so at least the Marshals wouldnt get the assination points (another one of my last resort strategies B) )...but luckily for us, my bit of yelling seemed to work and reinforcements arrived, and we held.. :D

Hehe, that part is on the DVD. I was wondering why you were breaking it out....I figured things were going so well at that time that you wanted to give the Commando's and Weltman a fighting chance :P

That was also the time when my Phantom went down for the second time ever :o
