Title: My first stock class adventure...
Description: Scenario fun

I have posted this on some of the other boards as well (PHOG & PPIG) so beware: :P

I just got back from a small scenario game I attended called “Operation Overlord”. It was a scenario where the Allies (USA, Great Britain, Russia, and Germany) combined forces to combat those of South American drug lord, “Salazar”. This was a significant scenario game for me because it was the first time I was able to use my brand new stock class phantom. I had used one of my previous phantoms in other scenario games, but had never played stock class in a scenario before. I must say that this was the best (and least expensive) scenario I have been too. I accredit most of that due to the fact that I was playing stock. Here are some of my favorite moments from throughout the 2-day scenario:

On the first day we were meeting our general and he came up to me and told me I was second in command because of my beautiful phantom. I was very surprised to say the least. It was pretty cool to have instant respect from an older wiser player of the game. In case some of you know him, it was Dan Reeves (editor of APG). Thanks Dan! You made my day!

At the air station I was given the weirdest look when I handed the guy filling tanks my 4oz tank. He looked at me and chuckled. I don’t know exactly what he thought I was using it for, but I’m sure he thought I was an idiot for carrying a 4oz tank. It only made me proud!

On the second day, a group consisting of my four friends and me, had slowly low crawled up to a “drug lab” where we were supposed to wreck hell on them until we had a chance to take it over. We were supposed to be allied with all other forces other than the druglord’s. As we were looking towards the “drug lab”, I heard a branch snap behind us, and I turned around. I saw some of our German “allies” coming towards us. They had obviously not seen us so I flagged them down. I went up to tell them to move across to the left flank and help us take the “drug lab” when the lead German says “Stop right there. Identify your country.” I repleied quietly with “Great Britain”. He looked at his friend and then said “Germans are no longer allied with Great Britain, we are allied with Salazar’s forces.” I was a bit dumbfounded to say the least. Seeing this, he then replied “We will give you 3 seconds to run…1,2,…” Before he could get the third shot off I gogged him. He wasn’t too happy with that and claimed that I cheated. I just told him that “All is fair in love and war.” His buddy seeking revenge moved up to my left only to be demolished by my friend with a BKO sitting in a bush. It was a great feeling. I will also say that no German gave me three seconds to run away again…lol.

My friend’s dad and I had just moved out of the dead box, and we were already in “hot” territory. My friend’s dad (Steve) moved up with his flatlined A5 and started unleashing paint on the enemy. I moved up on the right closest to the road. I was trying to be quiet, but wasn’t looking where I was going and made a little too much noise. A guy standing inside a square wooden bunker saw me and released about 10rounds towards me and none hit me. I moved up to a tree about half my size with heavy brush between me and the guy I was up against. I slowly raised my gun and waited till he raised his head up I took a shot and it went about 6inches above his head. I was very disappointed with myself for missing such and easy and critical shot (he was about 35 feet away). He and I went back and forth for about 5minutes until he raised up just a little too much and I caught his goggles with my eleventh ball shot. I wasn’t exactly impressed with my accuracy that time, but I was happy that I was able to keep my composure against a guy who laid about 100 rounds on my tree. It was even more pleasing when he walked by me and looked pretty pissed that he got taken out with a pump.

I was taken out earlier in the game and had to join up with another loan player. She was another fellow phantom and stock class player, and APG editor as well (Jessica Sparks). We then found one of my friends who was using my other phantom. The three of us were moving through the woods and I found a tactical nuke (one of the major props in the game. It eventually led to a major reason for allied success). It was cool that the only three stock players at the game found one of the most important props and were able to protect it. We didn’t come under much fire, if any, but still it was cool.

My last, and perhaps favorite moment was in the last twenty minutes of the game. We were assaulting the Palace and I was moving through the woods with my friends dad and two guys we had picked to come with us. There was a small path through the wooded pine field, and I was the only player of the four of us walking on the left side. We had moved to a clearing and found a guile netted bunker and started to move up on it when my three guys to the right came under fire from somewhere in the bunker. They were stuck and if they tried to pop out, they would have been killed. I knew that he had not seen me so I took advantage of that. I stared into the brush inside the bunker and saw the guy start to walk to the other side of the bunker to get a better angle. I raised my phantom, stocked it up against my shoulder and sighted him (I don’t have any scope or sight on my gun, but you know what I mean). I took one shot and then about 2seconds later I hear “Damnit I’m hit!” I had gotten the guy from about 70feet away. It was a pretty cool shot. One of the guys who was with us was so amazed and thought it was so cool that I was using a stock gun after that. He goes “O my god that was so freakin awesome! Awesome shot dude!” From then on, we moved in and swept the base leading the rest of our men. We eventually won that mission! It was awesome!

I will say that I will never go to a scenario game without a stock gun again! O, one more thing, Dan Reeves let me borrow his brand new Ronin Elite harness while I was there, and I must say it is awesome! I am going to buy one sometime this week. I would definitely recommend it guys!
