Title: Length of time on Castle defense
Description: This is actually serious, no trash talk.

How much time does a 'typical' castle seige take? I'm asking becasue I'd like to get an idea for a "Jersey change", possibly even "bring Comet" into the Castle. B)

So, umm, seriously, how long do they typically go for?

Normally about 2-3 hours is the going time.....though last fall it was 4 1/2 or something like that.

The way it works....there are 6 "objectives" inside the castle wall. You need to get 2 of them within the first 3 hours or they call it a failed attack and restart it after a short break. But if you DO get those 2 objectives soon enough, then it's allowed to go until it finishes.

Ok, so if we hold all but one of the bits for three hours, we skunked them. How long/how many items do we need to hold if they get the two in the first three hours?

If the get enough to continue past the 3 hour mark, then it will continue until it's taken! The whole idea isn't if the castle can be held or not, but more about how long it will take for it to fall. There have been 3 times so far out of 15 officially played games (20%) that the castle hasn't been taken. Those were #12 and #15 coincidently Marshals were part of the defending group both times.

Errr......I don't remember which other time it was held for the duration.....was before I started playing it. But it actually went 6 hours with nobody getting inside the walls. They instituted the "3 hour" rule after that game.

Usually takes at least a little over an hour, and longest one I attended was a bit over 5 hours.

So average, 1 1/2 - 3 hours.

Ok, gotcha. I'll just count on one spare jersey, possibly. Comet is a little complicated to swap into. I may bring it anyway, who knows.

I think they'll come ine expecting fish and a barrle and get a wooping. We have our wits and tricks. They may know a few, but they still can't beat us because we're the better team. Just my view.
