Description: Anyone have MP3s?

Punisher's Customs - November 25, 2004 01:06 AM (GMT)
I'm looking for MP3s.

I'm expanding my musical repertoire and am looking for assistance from those of you who might wish to help. My background is mainly Country, to that end I've played in a few bands. As well, classic rock and a little pop.

I'm looking for other genres to explore. Punk, Ska, Indie, Celtic, Folkie stuff, Tom Waites, Old Joe Clarks etc. Electronica et al is intriguing, I've heard some mix stuff with a middle eastern flavor that I thought was pretty cool. I'm pretty open to suggestions, Whatcha got?

I have to buy another car, TruckZilla has wiring issues but I've got a decent stack of Punisher's Customs stickers on hand so if you're interested and have some decent files lemme know and you can slap a nifty sticker on......something..

Thanks for your indulgence everyone!

I may have some stuff for you but it's stuck on my non-working comp ATM. From seeing some of your playlists I'm pretty sure we've got similiar tastes. I'll see what I can dig up.

I have over 3,000 mp3's on hand... every genre you can imagine and a few you'd never care to listen to. I can put together a sample disc of MP3s and just hope to get some stuff you might like, or I can give you a list of categories and performing artists to choose from. You make the call.

Musically Yours,
D-mo

ps... Its no napster, but its good to see that "file sharing" is still alive in some way, shape, or form.

Punk is dead...so go for the old stuff like Dead Kennedys. They never fail.

The White Stripes are pretty close to country at times.

Check out Interpol, Blonde Redhead and Clinic...you'll need Radiohead.

TOOL. You need tool. And Kyuss, they rock.

Kyuss is gone, a couple of them joined the Queens of the Stone Age, which is why they are so good, too.

Continuing on the indy tangent... the Fiery Furnaces...and get some Trans Am. They're kind of electronica. Neo-new-wave, I love that stuff.

I trust you have Kazaa? Because you should be able to find these on there...

You guys rock!

If you wanna go to the trouble of buring a disc with some good stuff for me I'll be very happy to toss a sticker or two along with whatever shipping cost you into an envelope.

THanks guys! You're the best!

pun, i'll whip up an mp3 cd or two for ya. I have some electronica that i think would be right up your alley, a good mix of beats and sounds, some middle eastern/indian in flavor, others with a bit of a latino flavor, as well as some others that i just can not classify, but will hopefully blow your mind...

my only request is that you tell me what you like off it! :)

Any genre of Electronica in particular pique your interests?

My collection ranges from Trance to Happy Hardcore, House to Drum'n'Bass. I have well over 1000 hours of mixes that I can burn and send to you. If you're interested, shoot me off a PM or e-mail. I can have a small stack off to you in a few days.

If you don't want to wait, you can pick-up some very nice recent radio sets from ETS Global. I recommend Armin Van Buuren's A State of Trance and Markus Schulz' Global DJ Broadcast. Both are solid shows and you have a good 6 hours of new material to listen to each week.
