Title: Got a technical question
Chubbie - July 21, 2003 02:48 PM (GMT)
Hey I am in need of a technical measurement.
What is the diameter of the feed hole in a phantom horizontal feed? (the hole where the ball drops from the feed into the breech)
And What is the outside dimention of the horizontal feed?
Basicly what I want to know is.....can the feed hole be enlarged to fit over the feed tube of an autococker? (old style)
I was thinking of cutting the cockers feed tube in half and mounting the phantom feed over it....tada SC sniper-2 :)
Anyone have a spare phantom feed and a cocker or sniper-2 and want to try this for me? I don't have access to the phantom feed atm myself or I'd just try it.

I measured the inside of the feed hole in the bottom of the SC block on my Phantom to be 0.745. The hole in the breach is 0.748.
The OD of the feed nipple on my Autococker ('94) is 0.869. So it's a no go without some drilling. I only have the one feed block, but I like your thinking. I may pick up a second one sometime soon to try that out. If so, I'll let you know how it works out.
Hope this is some help.

Yep thanks Phantom. Does it look like with some dremel work it could be made to fit or are the walls of the SC feed to thin ya think?

Palmers has an adapter for the old style feeds that just slipps on the feed tube and has a set screw to hold it in place, but I dont think it works on verticle feed systems. Check it out, its nickle plated and cool looking. That way, you can still switch between the hopper nad the feed system. Just a thought, that way, no milling, and if you want, can still venture back to the dark side, and then back to the light. Makes it the all purpose marker.

Thanks Gazoo. Only problem is it's not true SC, the feed tube isn't against the body. It is a nice looking feed though :)
