Look at me if you want to laugh Okay players, I have finally managed to make a dream of mine a reality and host a small tournament for pumpers!
The “Turkey Shoot!” as I have come to call it is going to be a one day event for pumpplayers only and will be a Top Gun style match.
Format will follow along the lines of how X-ball is played and will make for fast paced games and lots of points to be made. Each match will last 3 minutes and players will try to land the most points as possible in a match by eliminations to bracket their way upward into the finals. The Rules will be available shortly when I can get them attached to a sign up sheet for people to download.
Some of the higher points I have to tell you guys about is Mr. Cassidy has confirmed sponsorship from CCI in the form of a phantom marker to go to the winner of first place. Lori and the crew at Palmers Pursuit Shop are getting back to me about how many shirts, hats, and maybe gift certificates for service or to apply to a purchase, but she said they are in for something. I will be providing harness’ to the prize packages and the list grows with every email I check, some tentative and some confirmed. So check frequently and see who I add to the list as the weeks go by.
Of course I am going to host the event at the “Pirates Grove PaintBall” Club in Chula Vista California and they are going to dedicate a really fun Hyperball field and some refs to the event. The local Old School Challenge Team “San Diego Resistance” is assisting in reffing and general operations of the Event so staffing is in good hands. I have a lot of experienced help coming from all over to achieve yet another goal of providing pump paintballers a venue in which to have some fun and shine in the sun! I am currently placing a lot of effort in trying to get some form of media coverage to the event other than me and my Digi cam!
We will try to award as many prize packages as possible for as many points standings as possible. If anyone would like to offer more help please contact me at sgtotero@msn.com and drop me a line.
Admission is going to be a set fee and will cover all your air and initial paint needs. I have acquired a reasonable price on some rather nice paint and will include 500 rounds with a paid entry admission fee of 50.00 for players using tanks and 45.00 for players using 12grams since they won’t need refills. I think that is reasonable and I have again convinced the field owners to allow the pumpers to bring the paint they like to shoot since we are particular about the details on these things. So players don’t have to use provided paint but are going to get it when they pay entry no matter what and it will be fresh and in good condition. Sign up ahead of time or sign up in the day of the event [ November 7th, with the 14th as a back up date]
Contact the field at 619-690-0465 or contact me at sgtotero@msn.com for details and admission. Let’s have some fun and win some stuff for doing what we love to do!
This is the other flyer! A friend made it.
