Jubes - January 12, 2009 04:34 PM (GMT)
Living Legends II - CPX Sports, May 30/31
When: May 29-31. (this is the weekend AFTER memorial day weekend)
Where: CPX Sports, Joliet, IL.
Producer: Viper Scenarios

Smart Parts and Draxxus are coming together again to bring you the Encore performance of one of the most talked about games of 2008, Living Legends. Craig Miller will once again be leading the forces of the good and righteous and of course Sean Scott will leading... well, those other guys...

The game was the brainstorm of Sean Scott, Paul Dagnino from CPX, and Craig Miller that was pulled together last year with only 3 months of planning. This year will be even bigger and better. How often can you play along the industry giants and just about every scenario team on the planet?

IF YOU CAN ONLY MAKE ONE BIG GAME NEXT YEAR..... THIS IS THE ONE YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS!!!!

As you can see, the 29th is listed as the date.... The Friday before the event will be a special day as Sean Scott is putting together some games and contests along with a huge prize cache that's sponsored by different manufacturers across the entire industry. So get there early (be sure to bring your ID.. hint, wink, nudge) to partake in all of the festivities going on all day!! If you have never been to CPX, you have to go. Awesome fields with a huge parking lot, pro shop, running water, toilets that flush, nice camping area, and much much more.

For those signing up on Craig's side... be sure to check in here:
Living Legends 2 Alliance - May 30/31, 2009 - The Warzone: Home of the Hellions

The scenario is being developed by Viper and official event web site will be up in the following weeks. Be sure to look to that as the del facto source of LL2 information.

See you at CPX in May

News Update

Theme announced by Viper:

(Summary)

Society made its best attempt at self-destruction. While we failed in total annihilation, most of the world is a scorched wasteland, and survivors are few. The survivors in one region have formed two opposing forces. One group is made up of the more civilized and humanitarian people, the other are the strong and brutal. Each feels that wiping out the other is the key to a solid future for mankind. The strong want to remove the weak, and the humanitarian want to remove those who embrace violence. Who will survive, the strong or the resourceful? You will decide as CPX Sports and Viper Paintball present "Planet Earth 2.0: The Reboot" at Living Legends ’09!

(Expanded storyline)

My name is Sean Scott, and I am documenting what is happening so that our descendants, if we survive, may be able to learn from our mistakes. We all shoulder the blame for what has happened to mankind as a whole, and we all must bear responsibility for rebuilding our world, and our society. However, if we simply recreate what was destroyed our children will be doomed to the same fate. We must create a new society that is focused on unity, tolerance, and peace.

You see, just three years ago, the world was a far different place. Some lived in an amazing world where technology and money provided some with lives that allowed them to ignore the rest of the world and its problems. Others lived in the shadows of these people and their luxury, frustrated with their power and wealth, and indignant for the will these people forced upon them. Still others lived in nations where everyone lived in a state of want and unhealthy. The leaders of these nations saw a future that would only bring more poverty and downfall for them, and more power and control for the already too powerful nations. Lastly, there were the religious zealots who, in fanatical fury, sought to topple the other religions that they felt were persecuting them.

In the end it is unclear now who threw the first stone, nor is it important now. However, the escalation was rapid and overwhelming. Nations pointed fingers, and armies followed with missiles and bombs. Alliances formed and collapsed. In the end most of the resources and material things that everyone fought over were destroyed. The lesser nations and greater nations ended up as charred, wasted landscapes. All were reduced to the same primitive state.

Even many of the people were savagely transformed into more prehistoric versions of humanity. The necessity to forage and compete for survival in such a harsh environment caused a mass regression to nearly animalistic behavior in most of the survivors.

Slowly bands of survivors came together. Like-mindedness bonded some, while forcing others to shun or flee. This polarization created small groups of more civilized people, as well as marauding hordes of savages. The relentless pursuit by savages forced the more peaceful groups to band together for strength. The hordes were forced to unite to increase their numbers.

And so, in this region once known as “The Midwest” two large “nations” have formed. ours, known as “Genesis 2” (or “G2”) is focused on planting the seeds of change for this raw, new world. Our goal is to create a new society that respects the environment. One that respects the needs of humanity as a whole, not just the ones closest to us. We want to be part of the catalyst for change so that, with any luck, humanity does not have to repeat this global travesty.

However, standing in our way is the very antithesis of our community. “Tribe” or “gang” are not accurate terms to describe their society. The closest I can come to describing them is a “pack.” They call themselves “The New Order” and are likened to a pack of wolves. Their leader, known only as “Apocalypse,” is a savage warrior. I have been told that, in his speeches, he often speaks of General Patton and Alexander the Great. Once a general in the old world, he rules with an iron fist and unwavering discipline. By what I have seen of them such extremes are necessary to maintain control of such animals. Their attacks are a combination of wolf pack style hunting and military tactics, and are often heard roaring and howling. This behavior is reflected in their appearance. They wear a mishmash of animal hides and military surplus gear. Many are truly disturbing and even terrifying, to look at.

And so the battle lines are drawn. While our ultimate goal is to create a new society greater, and more humanitarian than the last, we must embrace the way of the warrior in order to vanquish the greatest obstacle to these goals; Apoc and his “New Order.” If we do not rid ourselves of these animals who embrace the way of violence we doom ourselves, and our children, to repeat what we must now endure.

And so it ends…and begins again…almost like someone decided to reboot the world…

graduate shmaduate...

<_< no...seriously...it won't be that big of a deal. It's just some scenario game. You know where you run around and shoot a ton of people. It's not like it's one of the coolest paintball fields in the world. so, you know...no big deal. Nobody's really going to be there, you know...just some old guys. Like, guys that invented paintball as we know it....so, no big deal. <_< :P

JOESPUD27 - January 13, 2009 07:48 PM (GMT)
As much as I hated graduation day, it was really more fun for my parents and family than it was for me. I graduated, big deal. People that get GEDs are just as qualified as me.

The best part about graduation is the $$$$$ you get. People you hardly know buy you gifts and throw money at you.

So if you want to really think about it and feel better about missing LLII, you're making money as apposed to spending it... <_<
