OK, I see a phone call to AGD is in order. I need to find out how this new model differs from the original I have. Says the rail is different. I wonder what that means. Will they upgrade?

...I want. Hell, I need.

They are using the rail from the Tac One markers, rather than the rail that came on the original sydarms.

Man I hope they sell well, this may be a market test for a "NEW" re-designed sydarm.......

^^^^it seems to be redesigned already; 24 shots to a 12 gram? thats a heck of a lot better than what I've heard from "old" sydarm owners. it looks a little different than pictures of the older ones as well. But I'm not an expert on the gun, so don't quote me on that.
Thank goodness I've been saving up, because I can't let this pass by. (yippy!)

From what I understand its sydarms that they have made from extra parts around the factory, but don't qoute me on that either. They are using a different rail than the earlier models. I believe the valve hasn't changed. Has the nice finger groove grips as well. I'd look at it as an investment.

My local field has 5............5! The owner got one for himself and they are selling the other 4. I got to hold one, it was heaven. Their soooo sexy too. I have no way of getting the 450 bux though. (they sell em for 450, kinda lame that they got them for $425 but oh well.)
mike31c - August 6, 2004 07:56 PM (GMT)
meh, he's entitled to get the full cost. AGD does charge shipping and he probably added a bit for insurance too :D
here's what you do, get the owner to let you fire one for a game or two and then offer to buy it for him at a lower cost because it's now used or something.
Besides, right now, the sydarm is now on backorder so there is no telling when the "new" ones will be shipping.

Just for me to think about, how long do they plan on making these? Will it be available for the next couple years? Is it a month thing? Cause im thinking with my b-day and x mas if i get all money if they still produce these then its as good as mine.

the rumor is that the first batch of 100 was sold out a bit ago, i suppose that since AGD is moving twords the senerio and rec players that the sydarm may be made again and not just from old parts and inventory laying around thier warehouses... i don't really know, i suppose they were testing the waters so to speak with this batch to see if there is a market for them.

At $425 for these markers, I wouldnt seem right to take it out to a field and get it dirty... seems more like a show piece.

The only reason even one sold for over $400, is because they *were* collector's items, and now everyone who had an old one just lost some value. They are not worth near that much, that's just extortion. The only reason I've ever heard anyone have for buying one was so they could say, "Dude, look, I got a sydarm" I've never once seen anyone take it out for a game of ball, not that I blame them. But why pay $425 for a mantlepiece? If that's the case, I'd spend $425 on a diamond or something.
