As some of you guys may have seen on peanut butter nation, the first event of the 2008 NPPL season in Huntington beach will include a pump division! Kristen from the OSC is putting this together. Information is available on her site.

I hope this is a sign of things to come for future NPPL events! If so, I will be playing the Jacksonville event!!

wow thats pretty sweet, is it only going to be at huntington beach as of right now?

That's all I have heard. They are opening it up to invitation only for 18 teams. It will be 5 man center flag with a 60 round limit per person.

just a note, not all the teams that have been listed as registered are playing the tourney. apparently teams that are on the waiting list and weren't part of the original 16 invited registered anyway. so they won't necessarily be playing in the tourney, it all depends on what happens with the originally invited teams. thats straight from the OSC.

not everyone who registered is going to get a spot cause they weren't invited. nppl isn't regulating people registering on the website. but they will cut down the list to the invited very soon

What day will the pump teams be playing? I'm going to HB for the finals and it would be cool to watch the games.

The finals may very well be played under the lights......Sundays at NPPL events usually end up being long days.

With the increased number of teams I'd be prepared for the eventuality of Saturday prelim games.

with all the teams we have showing up the agglets will get show to see. so lets show them how it done people

Last year's event went really late on Sunday. I think the finals ended around 8?

Adding games to Saturday may be hard, especially since this is the biggest event each year for the NPPL. Even with 6 fields up and running, games last year went on until 6-7 on Saturday, and that did not include a pump division.

Doing it all on Sunday is still feasible since they normally close down 2-3 fields around 11-12.

impressive list right there, those numbers should show that the nppl should keep pump division at all the events.

Cali has a big pump scene. I dont know if the NPPL will get that response in other areas. But it is great to see either way. :)
