Title: Resupplies at CC 16
Description: A question on the logistics of refills?

Tyger - July 2, 2003 07:41 AM (GMT)
Ok, having never done a Castle before, I want to know.

What's teh likelyhood of being able to get a refill on air, CO2, or paint? How easy is it to get refills? And, finally, where to you go if you get hit as a defender?

Thank you much!

To add to Tyger's post: Will 12 grams be available for us SC guys?

Blue had mentioned awhile ago that he will have a limited amount of 12 grams on hand, and that it was okay for the SC players to bring their own, as he fully expects to run out.. I think Crash is also packing a few cases of em, and they ll be available at the SCP/Crash Landing/ Action Markers Tent for a short time only If Blue runs out. , but dont quote me on that quite yet.

As for the rest, not sure, but id assume the fill stations would be up at the main facility at EMR, just down the driveway from the castle..

I know Blue bought a portable fill system, but last I heard he had trouble getting it to work. That was Two Towers, so he might have it up and running by now.

look for alot of upgrades at EMR before fall castle
and yes I will have 12grams,10 rd tubes, and the rest at the event, Ethan at Bust'n Balls will have some stuff too and Gunslingers will be doing tech work also. There's a few more people/comapnies coming also.
But the least you will see is 3 vendors, EMR's pro shop and a professional airsmith booth.
Just ask 10 shot's brother what we can do with a rock........ B)

CrashSTP - July 2, 2003 02:46 PM (GMT)
oh yeah - there's a safety area connected directly to the castle for defenders.

Personally, I'd say your best bet is to get yourself a small cooler and keep a bunch of pods/tubes/spare air tanks/12g's in the castle near the IP. That way you don't have to run off to get fresh paint/air during the game.

I've also been thinking about an idea for those shooting stock...
What if we set up a group that pooled their tubes, filled them all before the game (and probably bought a few more from Crash or BnB) and then have a bunch of trash bags stashed around the castle to dump empties in so you don't have to carry them or run them back to a central dump point. Everybody uses what they need, and split the tubes that are still intact between everyone who donated according to percentage.

The big advantage of this is that you don't have to worry about keeping track of *your* tubes, you just toss any tubes you see into the bag and collect your share later. It's still a work in progress, so if you have any other ideas, let me know.

Could do a similar group buy of 12g's if anybody's interested.

Burphel that sounds like a great idea. I've been considering what to do for tube and 12g management during castle. How many of us are going SC for this? (Maybe we should start a thread just for this topic?)

There was talk about a 12g re-supplier from Cooper-T.
For the PGP, you put on a cap with quick disconnect and just fill from a bottle. Just Phssst and you're recharged.

 I'm not sure if I was supposed to mention that.

rathbaster - July 4, 2003 12:14 PM (GMT)
Hehe, you sound like Hagrid.

Are you talking about being able to refill 12 grams? :o

Or simply recharge while they're in the gun?

'Course if its a secret, say no more. ;)

ok admitting my limited knowlage of stock class here perhaps but how does one refill a 12 gram??? I would think it would all leak out unless you found a way to quickly reseal it . its too hard to get it off a fill station and into a gun that fast.

Burphel - July 23, 2003 03:28 PM (GMT)
*sniff*
That was beautiful.
I love you man.

amhildreth - July 23, 2003 02:04 PM (GMT)
just do the same thing we do at my field with the newbs - run a spent 12g under the fill station, bleed some air, and tell them they have to keep their thumb over the opening of the cartridge until they put it back in their gun, or it will all leak out.

rathbaster - July 23, 2003 02:46 PM (GMT)
:o

That's evil.

I like it. :)

ahhhh gotcha one more question if I may
If I was to put some seran wrap over the hole and a rubber band would that hold the air in so I could still use my ohter hand for the pump??

rathbaster - July 23, 2003 06:14 PM (GMT)
Rubber bands?

Everyone knows you have to use plastic zip ties. :P

monkeyman - July 24, 2003 12:45 AM (GMT)
i would think that the pressure would pop the saran wrap like a hunk of hubba bubba
