Hehe, I was looking at that one last week and was thinking about it.

Thoughts of a stock-class sniper2 filled my head.

Nice purchase Chem-X. B)

what seperates the year of cocker from which pump kit / why cant I use a pre 2k kit on a 2k and up cocker ? Is the rod a different length ? or are they just incompatable .

Id like to be able to install the kit on this cocker in specific ( clone cocker )
cocker clone

Thank you for your input .

The front block bolt are different sizes from the pre 2k to post 2k I think the pre 2k bolt hole is smaller than the 2k+ size bolt hole. You could always retap it to take a 2k pump kit but that's just and uneeded hassel.

The differences as I have noted them (if anyone know anything else, please note or correct my mistakes :) )

Earliest Cockers: (1990+) Use a sleeved velocity adjuster which takes tiny (non-nelson) springs. This part is replaceable. Sometime around or after 93 (or so evidence indicates) the sleeved velocity adjuster becomes nelson-spring based.

1994 (+/-) The interior spaces on the cocker are enlarged for better airflow.

1997: The velocity adjuster becomes a single piece threaded disk. Blockiness on a definite decrease.

1999: Hammer lug adjustment hole becomes part of the standard stock cocker.

2000: The diameter of the front block screw (banjo bolt) increases as does the interior airpassage size. The back block is made shorter requiring shorter bolts.

Sniper2's follow this same trend as trhey use the same bodies. The biggest difference between a sniper and a sniper2 (according to VintageRex.com) is that the older sniper has the bolt as part of the back block.

After this the only alteration seems to be the increase in centerfeed models and a tendency toward the milling so many people like. (I think the blocky cockers are nicer myself.) All the WGP "specialty" cockers are simply pre-upgraded from stock cockers.

The history of cocker clones is something I've never even looked into.
