Title: Armotech Zeus Series
smince - January 10, 2004 02:44 PM (GMT)
Anyone tried the Zeus series of semi's? I have both a G1 and G2 and they are great as both a sidearm and a primary.
The G2 comes with 2 barrel extensions, a 1.5" and about an 8". The G1 is very similiar to the CORE pistol.
Both of mine were shooting over 350fps out of the box(with 12grams). Had to cut coils off the springs and turn the velocity down to get under 300. But my G1 gets 22 shots off a 12g, and my G2 gets 25. Not bad, and both are set at 280 right now.
Modified my G2 to use as a primary. I added a www.bp-usa.com folding stock and an M4 foregrip. You can see it at:
http://www.pbase.com/image/18329489/largeI have had a PGP for many years, and wanted to play semi, but still stick with 10 balls. Many of my friends made fun of me at first, but not after they played against me. It is a huge kick to take out a Tippmann or Spyder user with one or two balls. Most of my friends use 200 plus balls per game, and I average less than 20.
I have looked at and played with many pistols, but overall am glad I purchased the Armotech guns.

Hi, New to the forum, first post.
I got my G2 in the mail today and its pretty cool. I have no idea how hot, but its shooting really hot, I am going to try to make it to the local shop and get it chronied. I hope I dont have to trim springs. I am only getting 15 shots per 12 gram.
I intend on getting a bottom line kit and hopper adapter in the future. I got the G2 because I want ot build a Tank and figure as the driver I will need something small.
Smince:
where did you get that fore grip?
Sundude:
You will like your G2 when you get it. I feels real good in your hand although, not very well balanced, its very nose heavy. Also remember, you have to cock it BEFORE your put a CO2 in. Its a "Feature".

Stock version of the Zeus? Never heard of that. Do you have a link?

That picture ROCKS. Those are sweet.
How does the spring assist work on the paint tube? Do you have to 'cock' it before loading a tube, or does the tube do it?
(jeez, hope I don't sound like a noob  )
I have a friend, who's very gun collected, nice HK stuff and whatnot,, he asked me to look at the Armortech stuff for him b/c he wanted something tactically similary for fun/training. And he's never played paintball.
Sweet setup(s). -_-

Trashtrampoline: I got the M4 foregrip off Ebay, but any store that sells M-16/AR-15 parts can get one. Mine cost $20, but I have seen them go as high as $70.
Also, cock your gun and leave it for a couple days. The spring will set, and your velocity may lower with the knob on back. Mine has never gotten below around 20 shots per 12gr, unless I have to shoot it really fast.
Monkeyman: I don't know about your accuracy, but mine can hit a silhoutte(or player at 40 yards easily(about 120'). You may have to hold over some. Mine shot pretty bad when I got it and velocity was up around 365fps, but most markers I have shot do their best around 275-290. Also, though not really paint sensitive, Armotech guns are large bore, and do best with bigger dia. balls.
Cargo: You pull the spring to the front of the marker, and it locks into a slot. Then you put your balls in, preferably with a tube, put the plug back in, or close the Quick-Cap, and then flip the button back up, then the spring feeds the balls as fast as you can pull the trigger.

I had one VERY briefly...I hated it. It was heavy, inefficient, inaccurate, slow as heck to reload, etc.
Granted, this was when the first G1's FIRST came out, and I've been told they fixed some of these since. It just wasn't for me.

Murf425: Well, after all, it is designed to be a SIDEARM, but you can use it as a primary. Not that difficult for someone used to playing stock. But, I will continue to dispute that they are "inaccurate". They are easier to reload if you buy a Quickcap. They make reloads easier, like the devices on the new PGP 2001"s, but different. G2's have been redesigned to be lighter than the original Zeus.

Mine was the VERY FIRST production run of the original Zeus. After mine the started fixing some of the flaws, at which point I understand they became awesome. But that was the point when I started using stock class guns, so I wasn't interested anymore.
