Title: Front Sight for Phantom Stock Class
Description: Anti-aircraft gunners can't be wrong...

A long time fan of the Sheridan class stock pistol, I went to the other side recently and got myself a SC Phantom. The first thing I noticed is the rather "vague" sights, virtually non-existent, that come standard.
I'm not much of an electronic-gizmo sight guy, so I had to put something together that will "bring up" the front sight of the Phantom. My front sight- which I call the AA sight (anti-aircraft) is in its initial testing phase. I am not sure if it will need a spacer to come up even higher, but I assembled it today with a hollow aluminum broom handle, drill, sewing needles, and some epoxy. The lower cylinder is press fitted for now. Its construction is pretty self explanitory. The only difficult part was drilling perfectly straight thru the top "pipe". I think it may be nice to get thinner needles for the crosshairs, but aside from that it's ready for outdoor targeting this weekend.
Just thought I would pass this along- I really like the sight-picture. The gun out of the box was something I could never use without modifying.

Well actually it's just a sight rail to attach sights onto, and not actual sites but... NICE. I'm going to have to try that. It looks sweet!
oh yeah nice phantom too. More people should stick to black :pow:

There used to be all sorts of sites like that back in the mid/late 80's. I like it!

Neat Idea!!! Innovative. I've never seen sights like that on a paintball gun and I've been playing since '87. I like the idea.

That looks awesome man! I tried making myself one out of something like that but I just couldnt get it to stay stable enough. You should market those things! I know I'd get one. My phantom looks just like that, except I took the pump return spring (For lack of a name, thats what I'll call it) because it was giving my problems, and its not like its too hard to pull your pump arm forward :pow:

Good idea! You're probably going to find you need to raise it up level to the rail or you'll be shooting high.
Actually Skanline used to sell a sight set that consisted of an open "v" that would sit on the rail and a "pip" on a ring that you could set on your barrel. Since they've redesigned their site though I can't find it.
Let us know how it works!

I'd like one of those WWII-style AAA sights for my sniper :D.

I tried the same thing a while ago with a 35mm film canister "taken" from photo class; I took out the film and end caps and attempted to affix it to the Sidekick. Some various ballpoint pen innards served as crosshairs (keep in mind, this was all done while whiling away the tedium of certain classes.) Needless to say, your design blows mine out of the proverbial water. Looks hella nice, too; like it was meant to be there.

Flourescent (sp) monofiliment fishing line will also work for cross hairs..its a bit more tricky to get them taunt, but theres a bunch of different colors and wieghts available anyplace they sell fishing supplies..ive even seen it in glow in the dark colors.. .. nice job!

Great Idea! I wonder if we can convince Punisher or Q to create a front sight similar to the one of the Lapco Grey Ghosts.

dude, I was trying to think of how to make a ghost ring out of plastic. because I have no way of working on metal. The film canister should work perfectly. Thanks!
