Its a patent for a sidearm with both the c02 and balls in the same clip, to allow for faster reloads and simulate a more real expierence. I think its a good idea, how cool would this be?

Way cool. B)

I've noticed a lot oftalk on different forums about side arms of late. i don't know if its a cyclic thing or has to do with a surge in scenario play. I guess time will tell.

Holy crud, that looks wicked cool.

If that came out I'd quickly buy one!
I didn't look long at the sheets, but from a quick look at the pictures seems like it's either a blow-forward design or double-action bolt like Rapide? Damn, I should be non-lazy and actually look through this thing. But I don't wanna.

Its definetly worth the read, but I'll sum a little up for you. There are some drawings for 2 different valve types, one is blow-forward and the other I really don't know enough about to classify it. It also has 2 layouts for the clip with the air/ball combo being front to back with a longways stack of balls, or a short way stack of balls. Thats not the best description but if you look you'll see what I mean.
Its also worth noting that if you empty all 10 balls and then remove the clip you won't lose the remaining co2. Its got a on/off mechanism that closes up the 12 gram before the clip is fully removed. Reminds me alot of Airsoft pistols. Now if they could simulate the blow-back of a real slide........

If they were allowed to use 12grams in china we might see Real Action Markers come out with a side arm that uses those little .40 or .43 paintballs that sit inside a little tube/cartridge. I think that's the best Idea for a stacked spring loaded magazine. You can ensure positive upward feeding and not have to worry about ball breaks or pinching.

So somebody get to work and figure out how to make one of these things already and get it into production!

Sorry I ain't using one of those darn 40cal guns. It ain't worth it.

Finnigan - October 21, 2003 01:26 PM (GMT)
There is already a 12gram powered 40cal pistol on the market.

I've been thinking about a pistol for night and scenario games of late.

I'm not a big fan of carrying more than one caliber paint around. Did that for a while with my Crosman 3357 and found it wasn't worth it. What is needed is a lightweight, reliable semi-pistol with a fair level of consistancy/accuracy.

My $0.02 on the matter.

looks like an airsoft gun modified and i think the idea is from realpaintball.com or something they make mods that are two real from glocks and mp5s to m4s they put the co2 tank in the stock and grip and the clip feeds .50 cal paintballs in shells that actually eject i just cant remember the site name

Rath,
What you're asking for is the Sidekick Semi/Short. They are out of production right now because Goob is working on the valve leak. But once they come back they will be awesome guns. I have the Stock, and it's amazing.
If interested, email Goob and try to get an idea how long it will be.

i emailed that company twice asking for them and i havent gotten a reply i really want one of those

ww.rap4.com is the site check these markers out http://www.rap4.com/os/default.php?cPath=21

great way for a kid to get shot even airsoft guns have safety tips, theyre comming out with a glock that looks exactly like that patent so i think thats what it is they sued to have it advertised on the website but its not there anymore.

If that comes out and uses .68 cal paint then ya I would give it serious thought in buying 2 of them what would really be cool is if this would use sceptor style barrel inserts to get a good paint/barrel match easily

Schmitti - October 23, 2003 02:58 PM (GMT)
They aren't big on paint to barrel match. All those RAP4's and RAP5's can either be purchased with a .40 or .43 barrel.... a lot of people get a .43 barrel and shoot both .40 and .43 out of the .43 barrel. They aren't all that concerned with matching.

I have a feeling that with the "glock" that what it has is what you'll get. You might, and that is a big maybe, be able to get someone to ream the barrel out so that it might fit a short insert. but then you have the worry of the insert coming loose when the slide moves..... overall it could be a giant p.i.a.

I wonder if they could just modify the way that airsoft guns that use green gas does? The magazines for those pistols stores both ammo and gas.

I imagine the mags would be expensive though...

That is some sick thinking I'd buy it. -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- -_-

I think for a pistol mag price should'nt really matter, well at least if its used as a backup or a defensive tool more than a main rig. Now for the person who wants to wing 2 around then mag price is important. I would want at least 6 mags and 2 pistols......
