Lee - March 8, 2004 08:58 PM (GMT)
definitely gotta go with Iron Maiden, not only cause its the debut album but because it totally kicks ass, and brave new world of course is amazing.
my runner ups would be powerslave, seventh son, and dance of death.
Ed Hunter - March 9, 2004 05:29 PM (GMT)
brave new world kicks ass because its the return of bruce dickinson

seventh son and brave new world
Matty G - March 10, 2004 05:09 PM (GMT)
iron maiden and # of the beast, mainly because they both came out before Iron Maiden became 5 middle aged english guys with shitty teeth that make the same albums over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and overover and over and over and over and over.
Brave New World's good stuff though. and powerslave kicks ass too.

dude you are so wrong. maidens albums are similar because its their signatured sound.its that way because if you are listening to it, you automatically know its iron maiden. Every goodband has a distinctive sound. if you change your sound, you are basically finding ways to make more money. that leads to selling out. for example AFI used to be hardcore punk. now theyre a bunch of emo babies, and metallica used to be speed metaland now theyre nu metal, korn used to be full heavy rock and now theyre rap rock, dark funeral used to be good metal now theyre shitty death metal, pearl jame used to be grunge and now theyre a bunch of pussies with no testosterone, because kids are in to that crap lately. the best thing about maiden is that they are not out there to make a #1 single or make billions of dollars. they just want to make their fans happy by playing and creating timeless classics. and anyone who tells you different is full of horseshit.

B.P.B. - March 11, 2004 01:38 AM (GMT)
Definetely Virtual 11 and Fear of the dark.
Matty G - March 11, 2004 05:04 PM (GMT)
well, ed hunter, if you consider metal to be exactly what it was made to be (idiot english guys in tights that stuff their pants with socks) then I could understand what you're talking about. But some people consider music to be art. and some people want to find new ways to express themselves in art. now, I'm not saying you have to go Metallica and change yourself completely but you should try and change.
and if you believe that every band that changes itself is selling out then you're a bullshit retard. look at the beatles; they went from "Love Love Me Do" to Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band in 3 years. they changed themselves drastically but they still kept the original goals in their mind, and if you call Sgt Peppers or Abbey Road a sell-out, then you're dumb. look at Refused, look at the Clash and Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. The greatest rock albums of all time are made when bands do something drastically different and dangerous with their music. and I never said anything about the money in that original post.
Iron Maiden is and always will be one of the greatest metal bands of all time. But they made the same album about 15 times.

i respect you opinion. i seem to not have thought that through. but you kind of misinterpreted. i dont mean every band that changes their style of music is a sellout, i mean that it could lead to selling out. i love zeppelin and the beatles with all my heart. but you have to admit "most" bands that do that are after money
Matty G - March 11, 2004 05:14 PM (GMT)
alright, first of all i didn't misinterpret anything. i read what you wrote exactly how you wrote it.
anyway, i don't agree that change necessarily leads to selling out. if a band wants money, then it is going to go for money from the beginning anyway. they're just doing it a different way.
and dude, if you think AFI are a bunch of emo babies, then give Sing the Sorrow a listen. it's a great album.

Lee - March 16, 2004 11:20 PM (GMT)
i agree that cd is banging. i dont know if i should buy x factor or virtual xi. im probably not gonna.
Matty G - March 17, 2004 03:39 PM (GMT)
i respect not buying them. just make a bootleg compilation of the best of those two albums and call it "Iron Maiden: The Bad Years" or "Worst of the Beast".
Eden - March 17, 2004 03:45 PM (GMT)
does ed hunter even count as an album?
Matty G - March 17, 2004 03:46 PM (GMT)
no. it's a greatest hits. (yeah, you know, multiple greatest hits and live albums. what are they, pearl jam?)
Eden - March 17, 2004 03:48 PM (GMT)
i thought it was a live cd
Matty G - March 17, 2004 03:48 PM (GMT)
it's probably greatest hits and live stuff.
