I'm listening to it now and its AWESOME I have a new fav Metallica CD

Oh yeah! We listened to this practically all last night at R4L (it was that and NIN's "And All That Could Have Been"). It's a lot better than I expected (I'm not really into Metallica...).

im a fan of metallica but i dont know im not feeling the new stuff. they said they were going back to their roots and what do we get? some stuff that isnt metallica at all. im not saying i hate it because i havent heard the cd so i should just shut up, im just dissapointed their new song isnt something mellow and awsomely cool like the Unforgiven. or maybe if they made something heavy that made sense and actually sounds like metallica, like 'ride the lighting' or 'fight fire with fire' i would be satisfied.

i like "enter sandman" and thats it

hey lars is a good drummer. "in justice for all" is the best metallica record. and napster kind of sucked anyway.

well napster does suck now but you have to admit that it was good for its time

i first listened to it today in school and i was like "FUCK YEAH" now i dunno i think its only good when you're angry or in a mood or in school, i dunno. i mean shoot me but i think a lot of the songs sorta end up in this same position where its all like guitar riffs and monotanous angry lyrics, like this song im listening to now called 'all within my hands' it ends with james hedfield saying 'KILL KILL KILL' about a thousand times i mean normally i'd be cool with that but i mean... what is that? ya know?

its all good though, but if it were more like ride the lightning, master of puppets, or justice for all, i'd be more satisfied because atleast all the songs on those albums don't sound almost the same, the first few times listening to them.

i have the new album to but i dont think its real great just give me the master of puppets or sanitarium.

You listen to this in angry mood? but i listen to other metal stuff so...i dont think metallica's new album is that bad though

Anyways, you're right. It is "just angry noise" but that's what I need now, which is probably why I actually like this CD.

I agree with this Oscar Meyer Weiner guy.

St. Anger doesn't suck, but if I wanted an angst-ridden nu-metal cd I could go dig through my old Korn, Slipknot, Staind etc. cds. Metallica is supposed to be about rocking out, fuck everyone else! I've heard there aren't even any traditional guitar solos on the cd. Metallica of the past ten years isn't really Metallica, it's just four guys covering Metallica....not making bad music, but not doing a good job of being Metallica. Poopy in wonderland.

yeah i agree that its not metallica, but im telling you guys most of the cd is just noisy guitar riffs and angry lyrics, used in a corny way. its just really not metallica. but the sentence that i agree with the most that you said, matt, is Poopy In Wonderland. I mean i couldn't agree more.

oh, yeah, is it true the new shit doesn't even have guitar solos (or traditional guitar solos like their old stuff)? i think that's pretty much the final straw in the argument.

yea i admit i was neaver a big metallica fan but there old stuff kicks ass compared to this new garbage

and justice for all, ride the lightning, and master the puppets are really good cds (especially And Justice For All, just recently I realized it's Metallica's best) but this new stuff is a slap in the face. Meh, I suppose you can't be good forever.

well i have recently established they are now trying to blend in with the current popular metal scene. but that was a big mistake. you should never change your sound to gain more fans. the new album shows how "money happy" they have become.like i said before old metallica beats the hell out of this st.anger stuff.
