Title: The Statue of Magus
Description: What is up with that.
Validus - March 6, 2004 05:40 PM (GMT)
I always wondered if there was something special about the Statue of Magus in the cathedral, other than it shows up later in the game. Is there some secret to it?
I don't know it always bugged me, and I have also seen rumors that the statue leads to some secret character, but they were fake. I think.
Knives101 - March 7, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
;) Naw its just there for looks. It shows up three times in the game; 1st int the cathedreal, 2nd in the Monster town before you.... fix it, 3rd in the creators ending. Thats about it to my knowledge.
WolfPack - March 20, 2004 05:45 AM (GMT)
Gotta admit, it looks cool
Guest - March 21, 2004 11:24 PM (GMT)

*Thinks*
*Has evil grin*

Or maybe you can get a scroll or book or something on magus's life, kinda like an extra back story.
GalaxyFalcon - March 23, 2004 09:56 PM (GMT)
A scroll or book on magus would be cool, or maybe its a jorunal of his? Also, now im just suggeting this, it MIGHT be able to work in, maybe a flash back of Magus (aka Janus) or some kind of overview of his life.
WolfPack - March 27, 2004 09:47 PM (GMT)
Ya, like before Zeal fell. And/or after he arives around 600 ad.
GalaxyFalcon - March 27, 2004 11:49 PM (GMT)
WolfPack - March 28, 2004 01:51 AM (GMT)
[(that was an attempt on your part to gain a post count.) (lol, and this is one on my part)]
Apocalypse - March 28, 2004 03:31 PM (GMT)
Yes, and this is one of my own. No offence... but you're catching up to me; and i've been around here for a VERY long time. Try to post things worth posting... simply posting an "lol" is obviously an attempt to get a higher post count. It's not that I'm jealous or anything... but most (if not all) of my posts are actually worthwhile... and usually take a good 10-20 minutes to write. Getting this post count considering those guidelines is quite an accomplishment...
If you want to get a high post-number in a more honorable way; at least keep to the subject!
WolfPack - April 2, 2004 04:37 PM (GMT)
Ya, sorry, lol. I have been known to do that in the past. Although, i've also been known to write long posts aswell. I'll try to do more of the later. lol.
propagator4 - April 28, 2004 06:10 AM (GMT)
No offense to either of you, but who cares about post count? Aren't there other things in which we could pride ourselves? I say let people spam, then congratulate for being amused by 4-digit numbers.
Apocalypse - April 28, 2004 09:39 PM (GMT)
I really wouldn't be more proud if I had 200 posts or 1. The point I was trying to get across was that he was posting alot, but the posts had little information in them. I really can't stop him by saying that; so it should be taken as more of a guideline rather than a Law.
As for your comment on spam; I really disagree with that. We are here to support the Team in the production of the Project; not post spam and look at the "pretty" post-count. Also, I doubt the Team would appreciate spam either, as it is just an unnecessary annoyance. <_<
propagator4 - April 29, 2004 04:24 AM (GMT)
Not everyone feels the need to write 500 words every time they post. I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just don't see why you care what he posts.
As for the spam, I don't see how not posting spam is supporting the team any more than posting spam is. If people want to be idiots and care about getting 1000 posts, good for them. If need comes to be, you can always delete the posts when they are impeding honest communication. If you want to support the team, there are ways to do it other than making sure everyone enters a 20 minute masterpiece for each post.
SSJoseph - April 29, 2004 03:08 PM (GMT)
Well here is the thing.
He has pride in his post.
The other does to, but Apoc had been here A while and feels he should have more then someone who hasnt been here as long as him.
That is my guess, but really.
Go back on subject please, this should be re-named into "Talk about your post count" or somthing.
There is nothing to the Magus statue, and there is definatly no secret character.
honestly, there isnt ::runs and hides::
Apocalypse - April 30, 2004 02:51 AM (GMT)
Well... something like that; I guess, but I really don't take THAT much pride in my post count. I take more pride in the fact that I can help the Team by giving useful ideas. Im not saying that you shouldn't be allowed to say something other than an idea, but at least make the post more worthwhile than a single sentence.
As for Spam... I don't see how you can't see that as a bad thing. I mean... it's SPAM, the one word which strikes fear/rage into the hearts of many forum moderators. Its unnecessary, and does not help the cause of the project in any way. All it really is, is a nuissance. <_<
And lastly... no. I don't expect everyone to spend obscenely large amounts of time on a single post. I am just stating in my opinion that some work had to be done on our posts (at that time) since some were mere one sentence posts. I've seen improvement since then; however, so there really is no problem in my opinion. Afterall, it was quite some time ago that I originally stated that.
propagator4 - April 30, 2004 03:29 AM (GMT)
I tire of this, we aren't making any progress. Will you agree to disagree?
WolfPack - May 8, 2004 03:46 AM (GMT)
Whoa, that got off subject. Adding to it however, i would rather have 1 post count and be a member of the team, than have 1000 and not be. I honestly don't try to post useless posts, i just like replying to everything.

And I'm saying it's your right to post replies to as many topics as you want. The post count is given too much credit, it's just a useless number. It has absolutely nothing to do with how vital you are to this site, or how much reverence you should be given by other members or by yourself. Don't be proud of your post count, and don't expect others to be.
WolfPack - May 8, 2004 08:43 PM (GMT)
Well, i don't know about not being proud. I think everyone should be pround of a honest post. I know i am.
propagator4 - May 8, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
You realize then that you're taking pride in your ability to type coherently (that is to say, if your "honest" posts are coherent, which is hard to say of many members around here), a feat which puts you just a bit above the line of mediocrity. Like I said before, I think we can find more worthwhile things in which to pride ourselves.
WolfPack - May 8, 2004 10:24 PM (GMT)
Well, true. Like this project for one.
GalaxyFalcon - May 8, 2004 11:37 PM (GMT)
I dont give a crap about the damn post count. IT doesnt matter how much or many you have as long as you make an intellegent statement, and are gernally happy.
WolfPack - May 9, 2004 12:03 AM (GMT)
Well, thats you. If people didn't think the post count was important, they wouldn't have one.
Apocalypse - May 9, 2004 03:05 AM (GMT)
propagator4, you are ALMOST agreeing with me. I hold no reverence in post-count. There is no reason to take any particular pride in the number of posts you have made. Earlier, I was just a bit surprised at the rate of posts coming from some members (that were nearly one-lined posts). Clearly things have improved since then... so there really is no basis in this arguement anymore.
Anyway, though I do partially agree with you... I don't see where you get the idea "Post as much as you want". That clearly as not a good way to look at it... since it practically welcomes spam. Give ideas, give your opinions, but please folks... don't give the developers your spam to deal with. <_<
propagator4 - May 9, 2004 07:23 AM (GMT)
That clearly is not a good way to look at it? (You'll notice I corrected your spelling mistake, you can thank me later). Forgive me, but when did you become the judge of when opinions are clearly wrong? The very nature of opinions is that you can have yours, I can have mine, and they have no bearing on the validity of each other. Claiming someone else's opinion is clearly wrong is both arrogant and ignorant, which usually aren't the best traits to adopt when trying to get someone to see your point of view.
You talk about one-lined posts as if they are a problem, as if they are a detriment to the integrity of this site. But tell me, what do I do if someone asks me a yes or no question? Such a respond would only require a one-word post, which would be both effective and productive. However, according to what you seem to be saying, there's something wrong with that. Perhaps I should write it out in binary code, to make it long enough. Or perhaps we should realize that the purpose of forums is for people to communicate, and should let them do so, instead of governing them as if this were some sort of police-state. I understand your feelings on spam, and agree that it can be annoying. However, there is a difference between a pertinent but short post, and a long series of posts containing only one letter. I see absolutely no problem with spam on this site right now, and don't really think anyone at this site would care about a number more than talking about the game. If need comes to be, the moderators have the power to deal with spam. Until then, let the people post.
propagator4 - May 9, 2004 08:03 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry if that sounded too bitter, I'm not trying to insult you. I'm simply trying to get a point across.
Apocalypse - May 9, 2004 03:38 PM (GMT)
Ahhh... no bitter feelings are felt. Though I'm surprised you caught my spelling mistake (I rarely make those). Anyway, I am not trying to say that short posts should be considered particularly "evil", but rather not be fond of spam. I have no problem with a few short replies that are on topic. No one in these forums has literally gone out of their way in order to spam (except for that Ragnarok guy).
Opinions are our own, and don't easily change. Though I really see little difference in your and my opinion to begin with. My opinions have no authority over you or any others on the board, but like everyone else's opinions; they should be respected. To tell you the truth though... I don't see much of a difference in your and my own opinion at this point. Perhaps it was just a... communication error of some sort. Short posts are expected, as people are not always in the mood to rewrite the world dictionary in their post. Spam is the only thing i'm against, and i've seen very little of that in these forums to begin with... so there really is no problem there.
Let this "arguement" come to a close, and this particular thread return to normal from our um... "heated debate". ;)
propagator4 - May 9, 2004 04:22 PM (GMT)
Yes, our exchanges were growing quite stale. Perhaps we should attempt to be a bit more understanding of each other in the future, to prevent other such discussions.
WolfPack - May 10, 2004 12:50 AM (GMT)
oooook. Steering it back to the staute, the rm team adding anything to that?
Apocalypse - May 10, 2004 01:37 AM (GMT)
I believe one of the last on-topic replies was talking about a book giving the story of Magus. Another person also mentioned something about unlocking "Magus's story". I like either idea; actually. So basically my guess would be something along those lines... as those seem like pretty valid and possible requests. ;)
I'm sure more ideas will be posted on the subject; of course.
WolfPack - May 12, 2004 07:08 AM (GMT)
Of course, we're full of ideas around here. :D :D :D
Knives101 - May 16, 2004 03:45 PM (GMT)
 Like the idea of the books. They don't require much and can leave what his father and such looked like to the imagination. I'm sure if ya look on the interenet you can find a fiction story on magus background somewhere. ;)
WolfPack - May 18, 2004 05:48 AM (GMT)
There should also be a log of what happened to him, starting in zeal, or justa after he arives in 600 ad. It should be from his point of veiw too. It would be interesting to see how he grew up under ozzie's care (or lack of). lol.
SSJoseph - May 18, 2004 03:29 PM (GMT)
I think ozzie "took care" of him very well.
kind of like the same way Cyrus "takes care" of Glenn ;)
I mean, isn't it obvious?
Glenn is always hanging around cyrus and is always acting like "Cyrus, MY HERO!", not to mention he wants vengance for his death...I think they were more then freinds ;)
Same goes for Ozzie & MAgus
Knives101 - May 18, 2004 04:42 PM (GMT)
 I don't believe so, in the end magus didn't seem to care about any of them, you here this if you bring magus back to the black fortress, magus says he was just using them to get to lavos.
Apocalypse - May 18, 2004 09:22 PM (GMT)
I don't believe that there was ANYTHING between Cyrus and Glenn (thank God). Glenn didn't really act like how you described he did (though Cyrus did help him out on occasion). They were just really good friends... and if they are portrayed as anything else I think i'll get sick...
As for Magus and Ozzie, Knives101 perfectly described what I feel on that issue. Magus really isn't as much of an ally to Ozzie as he originally seems. In fact... you could probably notice that Magus is actually quite the opposite of "friends" with Ozzie later on. ;)
SSJoseph - May 18, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
Well..once I became more mature (About 10 years old)
I realised that there are Straight ppl, and then there are SPAM people.
Then...everytime I think of the names Glenn, and Cyrus..the word SPAM pops-up in my head.
The ozzie & magus thing is just A little joke ;)
But I am serious about the Cyrus & Glenn stuff.
"Cyrus: Why don't you join the kinghts"
"Glenn: I don't know, it would seem hard for me to hurt someone"
In those 2 lines I detect TONS! of homosexuality.
in the line glenn has..well, who the heck would be like that.
Follow A warrior around, and be scared to fight?
Maybe cuz he likes him :-P
And in cyrus line...well this is just pure imagination.
But I sence homosexuality in there because...well I have to add on to the line.
Here goes "Cyrus: Why don't you join the knights (so I can be around you more)"
lol...thats just pure imagination since he didnt say that, but maybe he wanted to ;)
Also, not to mntion its just the 2 of them..running around in the forest.
I swear to god, its almost as funny as Peter Pan.

 .......okay either your looking way too much into this.... or ya its your imagination, I can assure you frog and Cyrus aren't SPAM, afterall in one ending frog marrys Queene leene(whos is female if ya hadn't guessed.). There just good buds(a duo if you will, superhero and sidekick that kinda thing, they were more like brothers if anything). And this game was meant for kids, so I don't think they even considered something like that.
