Title: Radical Dreamers (Prequel to CC)
Description: Has anyone else besides me played it?

Radical Dreamers, the game between "Trigger" and "Cross." Has anyone played Radical Dreamers for Super Famicom? It was only in Japan and used some kind of weird satellite attachment which you could download games with, it was never ported to North America, sadly. Although just recently a group translated the whole game into english through the use of Roms and Emulators, so it is now available! I cannot remember the site where I found it, but I suggest doing a web search for "radical dreamers english" or something like that.

This is really a great game! I enjoyed it more than Chrono Cross, believe it or not. Be warned though this game is a text based game, but is does have music, pictures and a form of battles. Think "Snatcher" or some game like that. Anyway maybe you all already know about this but I just thought I should spread the good news.

The storyline is actually that first part of Chrono Cross where you are in Viper Manor. It really is a good game, give it a try!

I played it, and it really was good. It was like reading a book of sorts. I'm not sure it was better than CC in the entire, but it defenitly was better than the CC's Viper manor part. I believe you can find it at Cherryroms.com or rpgclassics.com, or some chrono tirgger esque shrine. :D

That was just my opinion. Also I haven't played CC all the way through for maybe like 2 or 3 years, so I probably forgot how good it was.

Didn't you think the music in Radical Dreamers was awesome!? or is it just me?

Knives101 - February 25, 2004 10:27 AM (GMT)
;) yeah the music was cool, had that kinda dark theme that just raises the hairs on your arm.

I haven't really seen any Radical Dreamers sound tracks. I wonder if that is because the game isn't that widely known?

Knives101 - February 27, 2004 02:25 AM (GMT)
;) I doubt that there ever was a release of the official sound track cd for the game. It was a great game but unfortuantly wasn't that big enough to warrent one... at least probably. You may find some of the songs redone on the CC sound track.

I haven't seen this game in years, and am actually suprised to see other people that know about it since it wasn't that popular or known.

I want to play it again!!

Though some stories were weird i liked the game. I've seen all the stories.

Validus - March 6, 2004 06:47 AM (GMT)
Wow, how did you see them all? That must have taken some time, or did you just read the text dumps or something?

I played through the translated rom one time. It's really good, definitely worth a play-through for any Chrono fans.

Nope, i've played them all... Some stories are very small, some very weird (flower anyone?)...
All of them were interesting though...

Kid and the Flower was my favorite lol, you can't go wrong with a horney French Flower.

For a while I was making a remake of the game using current technology (Flash, Photoshop and music stuff) but it was put on hold since I joined the CTRP team.
I think I may start it again someday, getting a real artist to do the slides and other people who actually have some skill heh.

Personally, I think the creation team had to be on a bad acid trip or something. The only good one was the main one, and I think that wasn't even that good.
