First off, I would have posted this on the new character thread, but seeing as how that would get about 4 veiws I decided to make a new thread. Please forgive me and my n00bish ways. :huh:


Anyway, not to long ago I posted a freakishly long post about getting Schala as a playable character, but was shortly shut down afterwords by Knives101 because of the Chrono Cross story. (I would copy and paste that whole post because about 3 people read it, but like I said it's freakishly long and I don't want to be considered a spammer, if you'd like to read it it's on page ten of the side quest idea thread, or click here)

Well, moving right along, since that's a possiblity on the mod version (since the mod version doesn't have to make 100% sense) but not the real version I decided to get another idea for the real version... or something, I can't word things right...

Anyway, I read long ago that that was a way to get Schala (it was just a joke though), so thought it'd be good in the remake but since it's not fitting I remembered that I also read about getting another playable character: Cyrus.

I know, I know, it's loosing it's originality, but... Say there is a random point where the name a time gate will show up (like the place on the mountains where Cyrus died and Frog turned into a Frog or a place with some sort of Glenn/Cyrus story value), And just for looks it could be a Red Time Portal (Since those seem to be the type that go to an exact time, not just the time period.) You can pproach, examine it, and Frog will enter leaving the others behind.

Frog will find himself in Denadoro Mts. a little far away from the scene where Glenn and Cyrus face Magus. All will happen the same, but at the moment Magus is going blast Cyrus, someone will shout "Cyrus!!" and Frog will jump across taking Cyrus and disappearing. Glenn will try to follow, but Magus will block him. "Don't you think you will escape too. What should we do with him Ozzie?" Then they shot a beam to Glenn and he falls of the waterfall. (The same when they transformed them)

Frog and Cyrus reappear in the screen with the gate. Cyrus tries to go back for Glenn, but Frog stops him from doing so and they both step into the gate. Back into 600 AD, Frog explains Cyrus he is Glenn, and tells him about the time travel, then reveals the Masamune. Cyrus will then ask for Magus, if you chose to fight him, Glenn will say he defeated it and the kingdom's free. But if you don't, Magus will appear at that same moment. Magus and Cyrus will say some things, then they will start fighting (you have no control) but the fighting will stop after a while and Frog will explain how Magus is fighting Lavos as well and asks Cyrus to join. Then you may reagroup your party and Cyrus will be a regular member.


So... :blink: Yeah... Umm... Hooray... I think :unsure:

And again I would love to have Cyrus in the crew, but if you get Cyrus before he dies.. then who will power up the masamune( remember Frog goes to Cyrus's Grave and powers up the masamune...), now I could see this as a possibility I suppose, and ya it could happen, but it would be... weird.. again sorry for being a kill joy, I think all ideas are good I'm just trying to stick with continuity is all.

And I wasn't saying you were wrong in the Schala one... Or this for that matter, just saying that I hadn't thought of that yet (The fact about the whole spawn and what not) ;)

:huh: that might be it, course its hard to come up with new topics that haven't already been discussed here. You aren't the first to want to see cyrus revived and I doubt you'll be the last. All ideas are good, just some are more usefull than others.

I think it would be funny...but I don't think it's gonna' fly. Maybe as a super, super secret easter egg, and even then not bloody likely. Remember though, CTRP will be fully moddable so you can always make a Schala/Cyrus scenario.

And by "modible" you mean by people who know UT code, right? Cause that's gonna suck for those of us who don't. Not only because of the dialouge, but because of all the new animations that would be required. It's gonna put most of us at a dissadvantage.

I haven't learned the code yet :(
