Title: CT calender?

TheBrain - August 10, 2003 12:39 AM (GMT)
One thing ocured to me one day, why would people in CT use the Gregorian XIII style of calenders? With A.D and B.C, Anno Domini and Before Christ? Perhaps was because the Christian religion was similar to our world, or was that it happened to exist something or someone in the year 0 that influenced people in order to reset their calendars. Perhaps it was the foundation of the Guardia Kingdom since doing a backtrack in the Kings we can realise that Guardia I would have born at that time. What do you think?

Emanuel - August 10, 2003 12:45 AM (GMT)
maybe they couldnt think of anything else and decided to make it that way

TheBrain - August 10, 2003 12:49 AM (GMT)
hehe, thats the easy way :) , i was meaning the characters in the world and not the developers.

Emanuel - August 10, 2003 12:54 AM (GMT)
hmmmmmmm right...well I knew that

Bedryn - August 23, 2004 11:34 PM (GMT)
I think they were just baseing thier world off of our world and so it seemed logical that they would use Gregorian XIII style BC and AD. Or it could have been when the first king was born like you said, or some big event, but what would BC and AD stand for?

WolfPack - August 23, 2004 11:41 PM (GMT)
I don't think the team put that much thought into thinks like that. Another one would be, do they have a equal 12 hours of day, 12 hours of night? north or south hemisphere?

Knives - August 24, 2004 12:45 PM (GMT)
I can think of one hint at Christianity in the CT universe: Manoria Cathedral. Sure, the nuns were monsters, but the cathedral had to have more uses than that. I'm also sure it's a Christian cathedral because in the sanctuary there's a stained glass pic of something that looks like Christ rising from the grave.

WolfPack - August 24, 2004 04:09 PM (GMT)
Well, that and the basic fact that its a church. So going on that, the probably use the ad, bc system cause some how christ affect the ct world.

Crono.X - August 24, 2004 04:41 PM (GMT)
ah the world of ct....hmmm my uncle would no of that sorta stuff....he said his friends dad worked on ct :D

WolfPack - August 24, 2004 06:32 PM (GMT)

Dark Hat - August 24, 2004 09:30 PM (GMT)
B.C. Before Christ. Why not? Its not really offensive to anybody. AD.. him. The devolpers probably just did it out of habit, but for the characters.. After Defeat? IE: After defeat of Magus?

WolfPack - August 24, 2004 10:25 PM (GMT)
Well, if thats the fact, then they were using it 600 years before magus showed up. lol.

Crono.X - August 24, 2004 11:53 PM (GMT)
A.D actully means after death incase you dont no

Bedryn - August 25, 2004 12:38 AM (GMT)
Anno Domini

Crono.X - August 25, 2004 01:07 AM (GMT)
some say that to ...... <_<

WolfPack - August 25, 2004 02:02 AM (GMT)
Well, ya, after death. That would mean they would use that after magus died. But they seem to be using in 600 ad, when magus shows up. lol.

Bedryn - August 25, 2004 03:22 AM (GMT)
Despite the fact that it is totally impossible, why would they base something like that after an evil villain?

Crono.X - August 25, 2004 05:32 PM (GMT)
Lol maybe there bacing it on the death of a GREAT king?like maybe the king befor the king we see in 600ad?

Bedryn - August 25, 2004 05:48 PM (GMT)
That is still too far from 0. It would have to be something or someone 600 years before 600ad. I am sure that Jesus was a part of thier world, because like Knives said, they had Cathedrals in the game with the stained glass window and stuff. And in the trial scene isn't there some stained glass window of a religious significance?

Crono.X - August 25, 2004 05:52 PM (GMT)
yea i think .......you know what would be kool

WolfPack - August 25, 2004 06:04 PM (GMT)
The stained glass in the courtroom is a picture of a king.
