Title: Emulators
Description: Ok, whats your choice?

WolfPack - February 12, 2005 02:01 AM (GMT)
Ok i figured we probably all have some, or did at one time so i thought we might discuss the traits of each one.

Ok here's my list over the years.

No$GB (GameBoy)
TGB Duel (GameBoy)
MAME (Arcade)
VBA (GameBoy Advanced)
Zsnes (Snes, duh!)
VGS (Playstation)

Theres probably a few more that i'm forgetting, but thats most of them. So list yours! and lets compair. BTW, anyone here ever used Bleem! 1.6b?

Knives - February 12, 2005 02:18 AM (GMT)
Just want to remind everyone that discussion of emulators is all well and good, but please stay far, far away from talking about ROMs here. Thanks.

Chuckles - February 12, 2005 02:19 AM (GMT)
Yes! Also, make sure that any emulators you may link to are not on sites with ROMs, and that they do not come with any necessary BIOS files, such as teh ones that are needed for PSX emulation...

BrownMan - February 12, 2005 02:52 AM (GMT)
epsxe (PSX)
snex9x (snes)
Xsnes9X (snes for xbox)
Xboy advance (gba for xbox)
MAME (arcade)
MAME_oX (arcade for xbox)
Surreal 64 (n64 for xbox)
Kawax (Neogeo/arcade for xbox)
Some other ones on my xbox that I forget names of (collecovision/atari and otehr stuff)

WolfPack - February 13, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
Dang, got the whole xbox collection don't you?

BrownMan - February 13, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
took a lot of time but was worth it :)

Narles - February 13, 2005 08:22 PM (GMT)
(I'm a Mac user)

1.) Genesis Plus (Sega Genesis)
2.) VisualBoy Advance (Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Colour)
3.) SMS Plus (Game Gear and Sega Master System
4.) SixtyForce (N64)
5.) PCSX (playstation)
6.) Snesx (Super Nintendo)

I got to say that it's been a lot of fun having a PSX emulator on my Mac that works in OS X. I just keep my Chrono Cross CD in my disk drive while I'm editing video in Final Cut Pro and during long render times or when I want a break I can just un-hide it and start playing and quickly pause and hide it when I need to get back to work. I feel like the ultimate laze! Even to take a break I don't want to get off of my chair and walk over to the TV!

WolfPack - February 15, 2005 01:00 AM (GMT)
Ah, forgot to mention.

Nemu64 (N64)

Ya, i like using psx emu's too. And since my psx is like 8 years old, its basicly the only way to go. It's a little tricky with win xp, but its worth it. I just finished running through most of my psx RPG's, and so i've turned to iso's. Mounting them took awhile to get a hang of, but i gotta tell ya, legend of mana and tales of destiny were worth it.

BrownMan - February 15, 2005 02:43 AM (GMT)
:D those games were good. But still.....I prefer playing them on PSX...because of the tv. but now I got a new videocard with an svideo plugin, so I can connect my computer to my tvs.

Advantages:
musch faster loading times for pSX
Hardware rendering (making it look sort of like dreamcast gfx)
other stuff ;D

GmMontex03 - February 15, 2005 08:14 AM (GMT)
if i could get an adapter for rca to fire wire, or something like that where i could play games on my laptop off of my psx or other game system, i would.

ZSNES
JNES
I had one for gennisis and game boy, those were fun.

relmatos - February 16, 2005 12:19 AM (GMT)
I have some MAME on my laptop but the one Im always using is VisualBoy Advance.

WolfPack - February 19, 2005 05:41 AM (GMT)
ya, I use VBA more now that Zsnes.

Lucid - February 20, 2005 04:08 AM (GMT)
I want to put my old computer in my arcade machine (double dragon) so I can have a full MAME arcade set up in one machine. I think that'd be pretty awesome.

I'd need to buy a new joystick/button setup though.

Stoney - February 21, 2005 05:16 AM (GMT)
What's this? I'm stunned, STUNNED, to learn there is illegal game-playing going on in this establishment!

All kidding aside, I use this new PSX emulator called Xeven. It works really, REALLY well with my copy of Chrono Cross. In fact, it's the ONLY emulator I've discovered so far that works correctly with it. Legend of Mana and Breath of Fire 3 work wonderfully, too. I recommend it. :)

Sir_Crono531 - February 21, 2005 05:35 AM (GMT)
Stoney!!!, PM me about that new psx emulator, i need to know everything about it lol, everyone else!!! go here!!:CHRONO & FF games, <---thats so not fair!!!, i want it!! its soo close but yet so far away......i need money!!!!, I hate when this happens!!
*attempts to kill his hamsters with flatulence*

WolfPack - February 26, 2005 05:32 AM (GMT)
VGS 1.41 Works best if you can find a copy. It runs everything i know of, and has ton of plugin options. Best of all, you don't need bios.

BrownMan - February 26, 2005 04:45 PM (GMT)
jajaaja.
I still prefer regular old PSX

jimbowick - February 28, 2005 11:04 AM (GMT)

rpgfan3233 - March 7, 2005 07:20 PM (GMT)
ZSNES (SNES/Super Famicom)
SNES9X (SNES/Super Famicom) - Rarely used anymore
FCE Ultra (NES/Famicom)
ePSXe (PSX)
Visual Boy Advance (GBA, GB, GBC)
(Kega) Fusion (Genesis/MegaDrive, Game Gear, Master System, SegaCD/MegaCD)

I prefer the all-in-one emulators, as I'm sure you can tell by my last 2. :)

Modify - March 7, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
Project 64 (N64- from what i heard not continuing anymore but it runs N64 smoothly on most games)
Xeon/Cxbx (Xbox)
PCSX2 (PS2 coming along nicely)

I have a websight that has all the exellent emus and none trojan emulators. Easy to browse websight. If I'm alloud to post it. <_<

WolfPack - March 9, 2005 06:15 AM (GMT)
As long as it's rom free, I believe your free to post it.

Modify - March 10, 2005 10:26 PM (GMT)
