Title: New stuff?
Description: Perhaps some new stuff should be added..

Apocalypse - February 6, 2004 10:47 PM (GMT)
Seeing as Chrono Trigger is so well known for the mini games, and missions within it; I think some new ones should be added. Mini games should give out some decent items, and the missions will give out (obviously) rarer items. Since these rarer items will only be claimable through the use of missions, you will only be able to do the mission once. Mini games can be played as much as you want. I also stress the fact, that these ideas (missions especially) cannot go too much against the story line of the original Chrono Trigger.

These are my guidelines (which can be changed... for the better, if needed.), so that everyone can discuss new missions... and even mini games. Since I obviously could not make ideas up for EVERY new mission or Mini game, I'd like to have more than just myself giving the ideas here.

Be prepared for some criticism though, because in order to make the ideas better; you must adapt your ideas to seem agreeable in everyone's (or at least most of our) opinion(s).

My Mission:

Clones of your entire party are wreaking havoc in the past, present, AND future. They look identical to your party members, and have many of your characters characteristics. The only true difference is the fact that they would like nothing more than to help Lavos suceed in destroying the world. To make it worse, these clones are given weapons superior to your own (items given after mission is finished), and have a vastly larger amount of Hitpoints. This mission DOES indeed fit into the storyline. If you remember correctly, there are clones of everyone in your party floating in capsules... but nothing ever happens with them. This would be a productive way of using them. B)

My Mini-Game:

Bonk the nuu! Found in 1000 AD, at the festival. This game will be similarly played to another game you might remember; Whack a mole. Depending on how many times you hit the nuu, the better the prize you win. There will be 3 modes to this game; easy, normal, and hard. You can only play the game if you have silver points. The amount of silver points paid depends upon the mode of difficulty applied. The higher the difficulty, the better the prizes.

Anyway, at this moment, those are my ideas. Feel free to add your own, or to think of a way to improve upon mine. :)

Dozzie - February 7, 2004 11:08 PM (GMT)
Whoa... Good thinking there dude! I think your mission idea is fantastic and would definitely fit into the main story line of the game. I never really thought about those clones, but it'd definitely be a worth while side-quest to put into the game for players to persue... Very Cool Idea!

If I come up with any idea's of my own I'll be sure to post em in here :D

Apocalypse - February 9, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
Thanx alot, good to see a little feedback on the ideas.

What I'd like to see is some new ideas added so that the team can have an easier time coming up with ideas. Of course, for that to happen; some ideas have to be given.

So... comeon guys! Donate some of your knowledge on Chrono Trigger so that ideas for (possible) new quests and mini games can be brought into the game. B)

Knives101 - February 12, 2004 08:13 AM (GMT)
 Well the Clones deally seems a bit hooke, but your right it is unclear what happens to them, I think the floating carnival head thing(Feel stupid for not remembering his name) gets ahold of them, cause depending on who's leading during the 40pt copy game you'll get their clone in another part of the game, but you have a good Idea, hell there might be a way you can tie these two together. :)

:D Love the Nu idea, that'd be hallarious!

;) This may sound a little corny of an Idea but I thought I'd mentchon it. How 'bout a Treasure hunting game, this would tie into the Toma story, that is maybe, depending on if you do his get the rainbow shell mission, and you meet his great great great ancestor in 1000ad, Toma something or other. That ancestor or maybe both could give you rare item treasure hunting jobs, maybe even set up a ranking system. There could be a super secret Item say the MAster Mune and super secret supersecret Boss say maybe the Time devourer... or a suped up version of Ozzie slash and Flea. :D

 A tug of war game with Big Masamune.

 A timed fishing game you could hold on the ride you can take in 1000Ad

 Some of...Okay all of my ideas are a little corny, the scary thing is I got more, but I think I'll hold off to see some responses to these. :ph43r:

ant1s0c13ty - February 20, 2004 08:39 PM (GMT)
haha... whack a nu

and knives a tug o war game with the big masa an mune is also an awesome idea

i used to have alot of crazy ideas for a mini game, but i forgot them all..... :(

Apocalypse - February 21, 2004 03:31 AM (GMT)
Not bad ideas at all, really. A tug o' war game can't really be with masamune... but perhaps some other monster that looks similar. I suggest the "God of War" in the End of Time. ;)

Anyway, keep the ideas coming. B)

Knives101 - February 23, 2004 07:02 AM (GMT)
:)Glad you guys like them, 'kay here goes...

My friend actually pointed this out to me, but what if there was like a mini game with the Epoch, and its lazers. Yes the epoch has lazers they only use it twice and it was in one area, when they're escaping hte black bird. Like a first person veiw game where you could shoot down space ships in the future, or flying nu's or something. It could be held in the epoch or a arcade console lucca creats in her house, or at the Fair.

One thing I think they do need is more games for the fair, like a card game or something. Poker, maybe black jack, or slots... wait scrach the slots I hated those in games.... How hard can you wack a nu game, sorta like what the thing with the hammer and see if you can ring the bell to get a prize game, but with a nu as the bell ringer.

Where's my cat mini quest, Chrono loses all his cats and has to find them... all over time or the world if you wanna be lenear. and gets a big prize from his mom for doing so.

Mechilors Smithy qame, make one Item from multiple items sorta thing.

Collect all the bromides, like the naga bromide but bromides of the characters too. AND THE ABILITY TO ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE DAMN THINGS.. for the longest time I thought the Naga bromide was a soup.

;) Tell me what ya think, and all get back to this if anything else crazy pops in my head.

pu_freak - February 23, 2004 02:43 PM (GMT)
You should be able to participate more in the Guardia War. Not just destroy some forces at the Bridge, but help defend towns and attack towns that already have been conquered by Magus & Gang.

What would also be nice is to be able to fight for Magus, but that doesn't fit in the story... :( ...

Another cool thing is to see the contruction of Zeal. How the Enlightened Ones crown themselves to be the kings and queens of this world, how Janus and Schala see Queen Zeal's heart darken because of the powers of Lavos... And just make the destruction of Zeal one to remember ;)

John - February 23, 2004 09:49 PM (GMT)
I really like the idea of more games at the fair. I mean.. it's a fair! They're supposed to be fun. I guess the sole problem lies in the programming of the games. I'd actually be more than happy if the original fair games remain intact for the remake.

And I like the Guardia War idea. An extended side mission of some sort.

-John

Apocalypse - February 24, 2004 10:56 PM (GMT)
Very good ideas folks, I really like all of them. There definentally should be more games at the fair, all giving out silver points. Also, since silver points will be a (some-what important) part of the game, I recommend more places to use them. I suggest there be shops giving out rare/unique items only in the fair, and take Silver points for payment. I also think it would be good if the prizes won with silver points at the fair improve over time. With these additions, the fair would actually be an interesting place to be. Maybe even multiplayer games can be aded at the fair! :D

Anyway, great ideas guys; keep 'em coming.

Knives101 - February 25, 2004 01:14 AM (GMT)
B) That would defenitely encorage more time in the fair, and more new and harder games. Not many know this but the number of cats you have is actually depending on how much time you spend in the fair... if I remember right.

Apocalypse - March 7, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
Just bringing this back from the dead...

Ok I have an idea. As mentioned in another post, all of the "new stuff" that we want added to the game (if it is actually added); should be added in a new game++ of sorts. This way, rather than spoiling the game for those who want to play the original; those who want to play the updated game have to work for it. Like in many software, this (likely) can be accomplished easily by having all of the missions/games/etc from newgame++ in a normal game, but just make them dormant (aka "Switch turned off", or not visible/playable by anyone in a normal game.) Doing it like that, can save some work... and allow new game++ to be implented with ease.

In order to access new game++, each player will have to beat newgame+. Thus allowing everyone to have a taste of the untouched original; and the excitement of the updated version. B)

Also, I have another idea for a mini game in the fair. This will be a "training session" with Melchior in which you practice your sword skills by fighting him with only your sword. If you beat him, you will recieve silver points. You may also receive sword techs occasionally.

Knives101 - March 7, 2004 01:39 PM (GMT)
B)

Love the newgame++ idea, though it sounds like would be a little hard to do.

Sweet fair idea, mechilor could be given difficulty levels too.

I got a idea for a game to waste the silver points on. Its one of the tent games with whats his name... the floating mask-head-thing; it could be a game where he throws fire balls at you and you have to time it right to knock them back at him or you lose, have a certan number of hits you have to give. Though I'm unsure of what you could win from it, since it is in the prize tent... I got it, photos and profiles of the characters, not just the playable but the non playable to... Now that I think about it, you could remove the limit of hits, and he would just keep firing until he hits you, depending on how many hits you get before he hits you would change the prize.

Nu tag, a game set in the gato arena, you would have a choice of fighting gato or this, you basically run around the area doging a nu or nu's, if they touch you its over and you have to last a certan amout of time to get silver points, have it be like a minute or so.

WolfPack - March 20, 2004 10:15 PM (GMT)
All are killer ideas. The development team should definetlently look into some of them.

GalaxyFalcon - March 21, 2004 04:18 AM (GMT)
I havnt seen to many of the staff posting, well some. I dunno i hope they take some of the better ideas..really i think there are some good ones.

Apocalypse - March 21, 2004 04:45 PM (GMT)
It's true, the staff doesn't seem to respond much... but that is expected; they not only are working on the project, but are likely dealing with some other issues as well. As Brain said quite some time ago, "Keep posting those ideas" (or something to that effect  ).

Jack - March 21, 2004 09:53 PM (GMT)
Well I guess I'll respond, I've been very busey latley.

I LOVE the whack-a-nu idea, that is defentally going into the game if we can code it.

The cat idea where you have to find them through time will most likley go in.

There will be a few more fair contests, I really want to put in a sniper gallery game thing, where you shoot little moving targets that are really far away.

Now, about the Guardia war, I REALLY want to make this into the game. What I mean is, I would like Chrono and Pals to partisipate in it. Some Ideas I am thinking of adding (if it can be coded)

-A sit down balista launcher thing that shoot massive arrows at skelatons that you sit down in and for 3 mins or so, you have to defend a base encampment near the bridge.

-A thing where you controll chrono like a 3d person fighter game (like Kingdom hearts) and you have to advance your way up a vally to the bridge, then the real fights take place on the bridge.

I really want this part of the game to be really special, like huge skeleatons and big monsters lobing flaming morters and such, for effect.
----

At the begining of the game, you will be able to select from playing the Normal version, with no additions to the game, and a Enhansed version that has all the new elements added to it.

edit: Oh, and we are going to have a Epoch minigame thing.

Knives101 - March 23, 2004 01:01 AM (GMT)
The Huge skeletons and morters idea sounds cool, you should make the bridge huge like golden gate or brooklin bridge huge, with much more battles.... And the final huge skeleton guy should be like 12stories high. Think big, texan big. :D

Glad ya like the Cat idea.

The war battle should be more involving, like saving the two towns just past the birdge, and maybe another war type battle in the middle of the desert.

Fair Minigame idea; after you squish Ozzie, slash, and flea in the side mission for Magus; they could appear in the fair, ya know look'n for work or something, maybe they could be the continued drinking game. I don't mean the drinking game thats already there, I mean the one you do in the prehistoric times against Alya, they could just be a harder more rewarding game, where you have to drink against all of them, maybe you could get prizes depending on how long you last or just set a difficulty for each of them and out drink them in the time limit.

One thing I'd like to see is tabs as prizes cause some are hard to get, like the magic tab. Power tab is the only one you could have infinite of the first time around. ;)

Knives101 - March 23, 2004 01:04 AM (GMT)
Oh ya and for an epoch game how 'bout a time travel'n catch the creature game, where there is this creature in a random time and you have to find him and catch him... by running into him... or using the epochs lazers.

Apocalypse - March 23, 2004 01:57 AM (GMT)
Well... it is indeed quite nice to see some feedback from the admin. THANK GOD!!! I think people were starting to wonder if their ideas were even being looked at. Anyway, nice to hear the compliments; as well as the idea about the war. It seems like a promising proposal indeed... B)

Alezunde - March 23, 2004 04:47 AM (GMT)
Ooh - I like Knives101's idea of Hide-and-Seek-Through-Time.

Some of these minigame ideas have a lot of potential!
I think it's a really good idea to kind of enhance the setting of each time period using minigames though - such as making the war with the Mystics more pervasive.

Perhaps the Dev Team should make these special features available in a New Game + mode, as several people have suggested.

-Alezunde

WolfPack - March 23, 2004 08:44 PM (GMT)
Or have 2 versions like jack suggested.

GalaxyFalcon - March 23, 2004 09:42 PM (GMT)
We should REALLY expand the war, and not just for new game ++. I like jacks ideas. We should prolly include new sub-quests, items, and story for the war.

GalaxyFalcon - March 23, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
Oh, there should be NPC' soliders fighting, and they actaully FIGHT not just for looks, and you can help them and stuff, and turn the tide of the war.

Knives101 - March 24, 2004 12:28 AM (GMT)
Thought of a new tech; well its sorta new, you remember in the anime intro in the ps version; well it shows Marle and lucca pull what looks to be a form of antipode, and then Chrono slices downword and the enemy explodes. Could be called like Antipode Slice, or Antipode Smash. Could be a new triple tech. ;)

Maybe a new secret tech for Frog; where he could summon Cyrus and they could both do a sparatic x strike, or a double teamed nirvana strike(Cyrus one move you actually get to see).

Apocalypse - March 24, 2004 12:30 AM (GMT)
***I had wrote a much longer post... but now I have to completely rewrite it since there was a board error...***

So far, the ideas are pretty good.

New Mini Game idea: Tournament
- This game will have monster battles that increasingly become harder with each fallen monster. You may fight either solo or with your entire party. Fighting solo or with your party will bring about slightly different results (prize-wise). Monsters within the tournament will vary, depending upon your level. As a prize, you may recieve either an extremely large amount of Silver Points, or a particular item.

New Prize Idea: Moogle Doll (robot)
-A Doll used in battle. When used, it will join your battle for that particular battle. It has it's own set of commands, and is particularly strong (strength varies with strength of your characters). The model for this will be the same (or at least very similar) to whatever model you plan to use for the Moogle Dolls on Death Mountain.

New Idea:
A training area in every time-zone. When you just want to level up, you can go to these areas to train. In it monsters roam about, though they won't chase you. You choose what you fight. You will not gain any gold or items here, but you will at have a place to gain exp when you've already beaten monsters in a certain area. Monster level depends upon your current level. Upon reaching a certain level, they will stop adding extra experience (say if the monster is level 80... it would give the same experience as a level 82 monster.)

Anyway. feel free to bash my ideas to hell... have fun. B)

Knives101 - March 24, 2004 11:14 PM (GMT)
 Like the Doll idea, though it shouldn't be a moogle it should be a Nu. Its not FF after all no offense. ;)

I see your idea on the battle areas..but if they do add a difficulty raiser it would be kinda pointless.

More Lavos spawns would be nice to see. Maybe another area in the future to go to; like Porre' city taken over by monsters and what not and a lavos spawn at the end.

Idea; for beating the best time on the race you should actually get something considering how hard that was. \

Triple Tech; I could be a secret tech you get from a stone; it involves Chrono, Magus, Lucca; lets call it Matter Explosion, they all move to seperate corners of the screen charge up and send multiple beams from their hands at the enemys and everywhere in between creating explosions of fire lighting and shadow. B)

Apocalypse - March 25, 2004 03:06 AM (GMT)
Not bad ideas...

I do believe the dolls should be moogles, however. If you remember there ARE indeed moogle dolls in Chrono Trigger. Regardless of the fact that this is Chrono Trigger rather than Final Fantasy; the dolls were actually moogles. Though, I suppose there wouldn't be much difference if it was a moogle or a Nu anyway...

Knives101 - March 25, 2004 03:35 AM (GMT)
 Oh right I forgot about those little... things. My bad, but weren't they called something different, like pojo or something, there was a move called something dance with them in it. ;)

Knives - March 26, 2004 02:15 PM (GMT)
I personally think we should tune up the race with Johnny some. I found that minigame to be extremely boring. Maybe we can add some turns and some depth to it (maybe diff cars, multiple courses, TURNS lol).

Apocalypse - March 26, 2004 04:23 PM (GMT)
I see your point... it would be quite interesting to see that race revamped...

Knives101 - March 26, 2004 10:49 PM (GMT)
 That would be interesting, always thought the race was lacking something. Not sure I'd put turns in, wasn't it supposed to be like a drag race or something. ;)

WolfPack - March 27, 2004 10:04 PM (GMT)
Maybe make it longer or something.

Knives - March 27, 2004 11:16 PM (GMT)
Also maybe we could make a greater variety of characters to populate the game's towns and such? I know this was a limitation on the SNES because of the cartridge size, but there are a lot of the same character sprites in each town. But since the game is on PC now, we don't have to worry as much about space.

Maybe a new age, perhaps, that doesn't have anything to do with the main story? I would love to have known what happens to the future world after that seed is planted. :P

WolfPack - March 28, 2004 01:55 AM (GMT)
I dunno about the new age, but i definitlently like the idea of larger towns and more population.

Guest - March 28, 2004 02:56 AM (GMT)
We plan on having full 3D towns that you can walk around in and see people in, think Kingdom Hearts in the time town thing (Don't know the name, the big town).
Well, in Zelda64, the Castle town, alot like that hopefully.

Knives101 - March 29, 2004 06:17 AM (GMT)
 Sweet.... are you a team member.

WolfPack - April 2, 2004 04:45 PM (GMT)
lol, either that was jack i think; or someone wanting to be on the team. LOL.

Bujiro - April 6, 2004 06:38 AM (GMT)
how about a flying Mini game, such as when Dalton Steals the Epoch, after you get it back you have to shoot down the Black Bird or something. It'd be a neat little tidbit for players to do.

Apocalypse - April 6, 2004 09:40 PM (GMT)
Not a bad idea... but there is one problem with that. You see, in the battle with Dalton; he shoots down the Black Falcon in the process. Basically... yes, he destroyed his own ship... pretty stupid; to say the least. Many people have wanted some type of Mini Game with the Epoch though... and I think it might possibly be accepted... the idea is... "where to put it?"
