Title: Project Info posted on Chronicles

TheBrain - August 9, 2003 10:23 PM (GMT)
I decided to condense all the stuff I released in one topic.
This way it will be more easy to people notice and offer their help/make coments, like I stated before.
Remind that all of these are work in progress, and I'm still looking for help, if interested.

A few weeks ago i started this project. I know i won't ever be able to finish this, but for now i'm doing it for fun. I've always wanted to see the chrono universe in full 3d. I'm using the unreal warfare engine for now.
Obviously this isn't finished and it sucks but some people might like them. Until i'm in possession of 3dmax5 i can't continue my work because it's missing one texturing tool in 3dmax4.2.

In the future that hud, the gun and the player will disapear. That won't be a Unreal game with chrono stuff it will be Chrono Trigger made in the Unreal Warfare Engine (if i would ever finish that, bah...). The engine is very plastic i can do whatever game i want with it, i only need the experience and the knowledge to do it... Anyway, i'm doing the models and other stuff in 3dmax, i can incorporate them in any engine i want, i thought in some good game engines to do the game and the advantages/disadvantages with them:

Neverwinter Nights:
Good
-Easy to actually build the entire world.
-Multiplayer.
-The game a RPG.
-Easy scripting.
Bad
-Can't change easily the battle/game systems.
-Dificult to incorporate new 3d stuff.
-Low poly engine.
-Scripts is in a Java/NWN mixture.

Unreal Warfare:
Good
-Easy doing ingame cut-scenes.
-Multiplayer.
-Awesome 3d engine with pixel shaders and other stuff.
-Plastic engine.
-Scripting in C,C++, i think C# and Unreal Script.
Bad
-Have a lot to change in the game because it's an FPS.
-Difficult to do the zones comparing to Morrowind.

Morrowind
Good
-RPG.
-Good engine.
-Scripts in C++.
-The game loads the zones into a world with no loadings.
Bad
-No multiple worlds can be loaded, i guess.
-Almost impossible to change the battle engine without being the original programmer.

Well, the Unreal Warfare engine is well capable in online stuff, but if we want something in the near future I need help finishing it. You can apply at thebrain17@hotmail.com, write [Apply] in the subject. Please only send something if you are really interested in doing something and/or if you have any special skill like "3d modeling, animating, drawing, etc..." you got the idea.

Finished some models for Cronos House

What do you ppl think?

That gun will disapear, the game will be in 3rd person view. I only have Robo half finished thats why i'm not showing the model ingame.
Again, it's not a Crono Mod, you won't be able to fire real or Unreal guns and kill everything you see like in a FPS. What I'm trying to do is a remake of the game using the Unreal Warfare Engine with CT battle system, etc ( don't expect me to have the skills to finish this, lol, at least alone ). I'm only using the UT2003 version of the Unreal Engine because i don't have the money to licence Unreal Warfare.

Thats a Crono picture in the corner i've made it look like it was hand painted though, lol (don't worry it isn't scribbled like in Chrono Cross).

Ok, i'll post one more pic, but next time I'm only posting when I've got significant changes in the Kitchen or else you may think that this unfinished, ugly, bugged stuff will be final and loose interest.

New Screen 2003/05/30

Ignore the UT Hud this time. I didn't change the angle much because that's almost the only corner that has models (Crono room has only a desk and a chair), remember that every model has to be built new, I can't pick them from other games.

I'm also working in the Chrono Trigger opening with the swinging pendulum but I need a huge hi-quality image of the game tittle, the one that says "Chrono Trigger" with the half clock face in the C, if anyone can help finding one, please say so.

Jun 26, 03 - 3:36 PM
Mmm, i should have waited to finish this before i posted here, but since now i'm busy with the college exams, i won't have a lot of free time to work on the game.

You can clearly see that this is a work in progress, for instance, there's a WHOLE missing window in there . Don't mind the UT hud again, and the repeating Chrono pictures in the frames, that's the one i've put on default before I replace them with something more acordingly. If you have any ideas on what to put on them please post .

What do you think?

Hi, here are the stuff I promised, it's no big splashy eye-catching teaser, but I know that you might like.
I may release an Hi-res version of the teaser if there are demand.

Well I think it Kicks Ass and that it should be finished. I feel so usseless I want to help but I don't know how =(.

Agraba - September 4, 2003 04:07 PM (GMT)
Looks really good.
You really have the detail in chronos room but i think the atmosphere
is really awfull since there is no sunshine :)

But i would love to se how this project develop.

TheBrain - September 4, 2003 04:17 PM (GMT)
Thanks :).
Those still have a lot of issues, as you say i think also that the atmosphere of the room looks too grainy/dusty and dark. I still haven't figured some stuff in order to obtain the Chrono Atmosphere, i guess it is the lousy texturing/sloppy modeling work, i have to start to design modular stuff in order to look right. Probably i will redo most of the stuff, preferably with some team help.

maxcool - September 25, 2003 10:06 PM (GMT)
Hey guys, im new to the forum, but I believe I have some skills that I can bring to the table. I have been working with 3ds max since it first came out.. now, don't get me wrong, I am no expert or crap like that.. but I am good at architectual design, so I would be able to "set work" for the project, if it is needed. I pretty much am not good anymore at textures, even though I know ALL the insides and outs of Photoshop 7, I cant seem to get the hang of it, but I can model to make up for it.. so.. If you need yet another modeller that would be assigned maybe some monsters and definently some work on set design/house design.. modelling the fair, the castle.. etc etc... I could be your man :)

Inform me please if you are interested in my help.. and if you would like some idea at what kind of creativity I have, please check out my dotcom at www.soulkeystudios.com I do graphic design, web design, etc etc... but the graphic design section is down at the moment.

Thanks again (well, atleast for taking the time to read this),
Bryan Taylor

PS:I used to have a game I was working on, that fell through, yay. I am hoping to help u guys so that your project doesn't do the same.

TheBrain - September 27, 2003 12:00 AM (GMT)
I've contacted you.

WarOmega - October 9, 2003 10:40 PM (GMT)
Hrm, this is a game i will not play, unless you make it a RPG game. THe chrono trigger concept is not something that i would like to play as a Shoot-em-up. But i sure like the models and all the stuff that has been made so far.

But well, maybe ill try it later when its finished...

TheBrain - October 9, 2003 11:08 PM (GMT)
 You seem to be confused, the remake it's an RPG not an FPS...

Jack - October 10, 2003 07:46 AM (GMT)
Yeah, just becacsue it is made with the unreal engin dosen't mean it is an FPS. Its relativley easy to make a 3rd person view.

If you have ut2003 you can even use the ~ command and type in behindview 1 to get a 3rd person view.

Tsaruk - October 17, 2003 06:04 PM (GMT)
I have a 3ds file (a graphic) I want to look at and I couldnt find 3ds max on kazaa- is there any other way to open it?

Dark_Crono - March 12, 2004 01:09 AM (GMT)
dont you think if would be better if you just made a new story? and why you put Square-Enix 1995-2005?. :D

Knives101 - March 12, 2004 02:01 AM (GMT)
 A lot of people seem to think this is a spin off or other world thing... its not its remake of the original, story and all, they might add a few new stuff, but its supposed to stick to the base story plot and all.

WolfPack - March 20, 2004 05:27 AM (GMT)
There seems to be confussion in the air. From what i've seen and heard, its just a 3d remake of Chrono Trigger, with some adaptions rendered unavoidable because of the new 3d engine instead of the 32bit.

Did I get it right guys?

Jack - March 20, 2004 06:58 AM (GMT)
Dear lord... Its WOLFPACK!!!

The game is a complete REMAKE in 3d, with some new added content for a little extra fun.

WolfPack - March 20, 2004 07:00 AM (GMT)
Yo jack. Ya i deciced to float over here, still less people, which is what i like. The chronilces got to crowdd

ChronosWing - April 13, 2004 06:17 AM (GMT)
