Ahh, FFVIII: the biggest debate of all FF games as to whether it is good. Personally, I think it's not so great, but X was actually worse.

The first disc of this game is amazing, the story hooks you in from the get go and the scenario writing is impeccable. After the sorceress Edea starts getting a more dominant role though, the game goes TOTALLY downhill from there. By the time you reach disc 4 you wanna kill it because it ruined the potential for a great story. Also the junction system wasn't so hot.

like all other final fantasy games

and also, what kind of a name is Squall anyways. sheesh. Ill stick to FF9 (as soon as frined mails me 3rd disc)

Heh...IX is the best game ever. Combined flash with substance perfectly.

the Xeno Series is pretty decent as well

also the story....oh man...so awesome. Just like Grandia and Skies of Arcadia :D

FF6(3 to you yanks) was awsome. FF7, apart from the graphics biting harder than a starved alligator, was freakin amazing, probably the coolest story ive played through.
FF8 was good, lots of places to improve on, but it looked good for the first game of its type to use full texture support etc. storyline wise, it was ok, nothing special.

i didnt like it, im not a huge fan of neo medievil stuff (like having knights, but at the same time having technology) i like one or the other, mixing them just isnt my bag.
i think they tried to push the ps1 too far with the textures too, as most of them looked washed out, and the anti-aliasing sucked hard core... i know im nitpicking, but i really dont like the game...

FFX is an atrocity, it couldnt be more linear if you drew the storyline wit a rular >_< the lack of world map killed any hope of redemtion on that front. and dont even get me started on FFX-2.

if anyones interested, at some point when ive done most of my work here with CT:RP im gonna be doing an online FF mod with most of your fav characters ;)

I think FF9 Rocked, and was the crowning achiment of the FF series.

FFVII was awesome

I am a very big fan of FFVIII, dunno why, but IR eally liked the gameplay, the story, everything. (but not more than I liked FFVI <3) Great game.

I've played bits and pieces of IX, nothing impressive.

X was a joke, the game was a monstrosity, it can rot in hell.

X-2, what the HELL, Charlie's Angels? Square deserves a kick in their sex deprived nuts for that one.

VI: Beautiful art, good writing/story and the best music in any game ver
VII: Sweet storyline and just do darn fun to play!
VIII: Already stated
IX: Original story, memorable characters, awesome visuals that still make me go "wow!" Square's finest achievement and the best game ever made. Why FFIX shines so much is because the story pulls emotional heartstrings in addition to being big and grand.
X: Atrocity, Gir summed it up best: It couldn't be more linear if they drew it with a ruler. It's like the holocaust on a disc.
X-2: WAY better than X, and better than everyone says it is. If you pretend the story isn't there it's a blast to play. The character designs are pretty pathetic...but the battle system owns so much.

yes I agree with the FF9 philosophy....still need the darn 3rd disc from somewhere :(

FFVI-Best FF game ever made(i want a 3d version!)
FFVII-still playing it every once in a while, but great story.
FFVII-still playing, good story and graphics.
FFIX-still playing, great graphics and story.
FFX-Great graphics, needs work on story, needed more interactive way to travel the world.
FFX-2same as FFX
FFXI-Great graphics, just wish there was an off-line part where you could play one of a few doungeons to level-up your character and you didnt/couldnt want to get online.
