Click here for the awful truth!

the chrono break trademark has been dropped! my hopes are shattered! hopefully they'll just use another title for the game! please o please!

Samurai Milo - January 26, 2004 11:48 AM (GMT)
Chrono Break? What's that? (feels web search coming on)

Knives101 - February 15, 2004 04:42 AM (GMT)
;) Chrono Break was a Title copyrighted by Square in like 2001 or something. I just found this out recently my self. If squarenix is smart they will continue on with the series considering that both Cross and Trigger were big sellers. (even though I didn't like the way they linked the two... They killed LUCCA DAMMIT!)

Toshiro - February 15, 2004 10:29 AM (GMT)
they still have Chrono Brake in Japan

CritikalX - February 15, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
was it realeased tho, cuz if it was ill have to search the net for ISO, but i dotn think it was realeased in japan

Knives101 - February 16, 2004 10:21 AM (GMT)
 I don't think its been released, I could be wrong about all this. I'm just going on what I've heard. And it isn't much.

Dr. Chaos - February 22, 2004 10:54 PM (GMT)
Jesus christ...I wish people would shutup about this.

b]Square has no plans for a sequel at this time. However, this does not mean a new Chrono game won't be made.

-STRAIGHT from Squaresoft's FAQ page.
Just because they dropped the name does'nt mean they won't just use another one. Heck...I don't expect a sequel in the next two years but i do believe at some point there will be one more sequel.

I read on one website that a possible reason they dropped the "Chrono Break" name is because it was possibly an improper translation error, and "Chrono Brake" is the true title. This is just a theory though, and I cannot take credit for it.

long live jap!
they kipping all of are dreames alive!

WolfPack - March 20, 2004 05:59 AM (GMT)
Gezz you guys really are confussed in these forums. Chrono Break was the rumered sequal to Chrono Trigger/Cross. While SE kepted the jap copyright, you also gotta look at some of thier other games like Secret of Mana (1, and 2) which was Seiken Desentsu (2, and 3). So its possible that is will be under a different name over here ( asumming that it will come out over here, SE it notorus for realeasing in japan, and not america, so i could happen that usa will not see it). Also, Chrono Trigger came out in 1995, and Chrono Cross came out in 2000, 5 years later (rather long wait if you ask me...); so one must assume that the next game in line will come out around 2005. So really, we don't have much to worry about, we wouldn't normally hear about the game until late 2004 or 2005 sometime. So I wouldn't worry, unless of course SE comes right out and says that they will never produce another Chrono game ( which mise well be saying that they were stupid and wanted to loose half of their business)

Apocalypse - March 20, 2004 04:39 PM (GMT)
There is no doubt in my mind that it will eventually be released in America. It is very possible that it can be released with a new name... but it definentally has to have some connection to Chrono Trigger (such as Cross being named Chrono Cross).

One correction I have to make for you Wolf, I believe Seiken Densetsu 3 actually Translates into Secret of Mana 3... either that or Legend of the holy sword 3 (Legend of the holy sword was the first). Either way.. it doesn't really matter.... just a pointless fact.

WolfPack - March 20, 2004 10:23 PM (GMT)
lol. We all know for it to be a chrono game is has to have chrono, but will it play any part to the story? Like Chrono Cross, it has the name, but not the storyline.

GalaxyFalcon - March 21, 2004 04:05 AM (GMT)
ok ok...we should all calm down since the ass holes at (langage, sorry) will never make such an awsome game. Next thing we're gonna do is make Chrono Break OURSLEVES...wait...is that a new idea?

WolfPack - March 23, 2004 08:23 PM (GMT)
LOL. It may very well come to that.

GalaxyFalcon - March 23, 2004 10:07 PM (GMT)
I hope they release it. Although i have a theory...maybe ill make a new thread for that one.

WolfPack - March 27, 2004 09:25 PM (GMT)
Sureee you're just looking for a post count ;)

Blarg - April 12, 2004 05:33 PM (GMT)
Well I don't have a PS2, but if they make that, and ff12, then I will finally have enough games I want to buy a PS2.

And a lot of people think the Chrono Cross story is shit. Well, I thought that too after I beat it once. But then I read some stuff about it, and I realized that the story was actually quite genius. I just think they should have delivered the story better... seeing as how half of it was told to you right before you fought the final boss.

Also... if they release this game, maybe they will tell us more about Lavos! I mean, in both Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross, all you know is that a giant porcupine fell from who knows where, and just decided to mess up mankind. And he is also such a powerful demon, that he can pull things from different time periods into his own. And if you kill him, the Past him will find another way to destroy the world.

Maybe in Chrono Brake, someone will mess with the Frozen Flame, and he will use the Frozen Flame to possess that character, and communicate to you through the character. Then we can find out a lot of stuff. Like... where he comes from. Are there a lot of monsters like him? WHY did he come to this planet to kill everybody? Maybe his species got destroyed, and he was the only survivor, and decided to come to a hydrated planet to get rid of people, and allow his species to grow on the planet (which would explain the Lavos spawns.... maybe Lavos is Female, or A-Sexual). Well, if that is the case, I wouldn't like to meet whatever destroyed HIS species!!!

Blarg (again...) - April 12, 2004 05:43 PM (GMT)
Sorry, but I can't edit if I'm not a member.

This has always made me curious.... what happened at the year 0? Why are they splitting their time eras into two parts? Did they have a Jesus Christ?

And this also made me curious.... at Serge's time (1020) before he went through all that crap of getting the Chrono Cross, and stopping TimeDevourer... was the story of Crono and his friends a well known story? I mean, could Serge go up to a random person on the street, and say "hey... how about that hero Crono, and his defeating Lavos." Or will the person say "Huh? Who the hell is Crono? Or Lavos for that matter???!!!" So in other words, was this whole adventure top secret, between Crono and his friends, (and that nice man Gaspar at the end of time) or was this a story known throughout the world?

WolfPack - April 13, 2004 03:31 AM (GMT)
I think what happened in CT and CC was just about unkown to everyone except those who help change events that happened in both games. Plus subplot people like schala, serges mom, chronos mom, ect.

Blarg - April 13, 2004 07:37 PM (GMT)
Crono's mom didn't know anything. When the game was almost done, and we were trying to go into a frozen time period to save Crono, his mom asks "Are you boys playing nicely?" I'm pretty sure she was never enlightened on the 12000 B.C. time crash event where the 3 gurus were hurled into different time periods. Or that there is a guru, or zeal, or Lavos... or time travel for that matter.

And Serge's mom only knew that he was possessed by a panther demon. Aside from that, she knew what everybody else knew, which was that some terrifying thing is going on. I'm pretty sure she didn't know about Schala sending Kid to create a different time period, one where Serge is alive and split the universe into two.

So you're saying, if I were to go into the Chrono Trigger world at 1020, and walk up to a random person and say "hey... how about that Lavos..." they won't even know what that is?! Well, that kinda makes you think, on how so many things of astronomical importance can be going on in our world right now, and we wouldn't even know it. We say that mankind has not discovered the means of time travel, and yet, there could have been so many time travel events that screwed up with our world.

I'm sorry but there is no possible way they could of said that in CT for one PS1 wasn't even known of when CT came out so I have no idea how they would of known of PS2. But if there is a programmers ending in CC and thats what your talking about then ok maybe but I never got that ending.

I think what it actually was, was one of the characters in the programmers ending said something like, "I bet you can't wait for a Chrono Trigger 2 can you?" It didn't mention anything about PS2. This is an impossibility, because Chrono Trigger was released state side in 1995, and when was PS2 released, 2000 I think. I am assuming this was just a joke lol.

GalaxyFalcon - May 1, 2004 11:34 PM (GMT)
Thats a really BAD joke ;) lol. Hey Validus, how did u learn how to draw so good?! :>

Validus - May 3, 2004 07:50 PM (GMT)
Bah, I don't consider myself able to draw that well.

But I guess practice helps-

No, you have to activate the show from the begining of the forum.

WolfPack - June 3, 2004 12:35 AM (GMT)
He's not very observent. lol.

Janus - June 8, 2004 12:45 AM (GMT)
Why do every one of you ignore the "Radical Dreamers" the original CT sequel
It came before the CC ,only because it was released only in Japan? it`s discrimination dudes YOU MUST NOT AVOID THE RADICAL DREAMES.
But if you actually ignored it`s existence you must know it`s a text game(and tha Janus is in it (the real one not me))

I heard they had dropped on the CB project ,but I hope it`s only a rumor.
Or maybe Hironobu Sakaguchi didn`t want to participate on this sequel .
Heīs one of the producers of CT (and many FF series )for those who donīt know him. B)

WolfPack - June 8, 2004 02:13 AM (GMT)
WT ? How are we ignoring RD? Your aperently out of the loop kid; Demiforce has produced a english and most of us here have played it.
