Title: remixed music themes?
bounty hunter - December 9, 2003 02:21 AM (GMT)
i don't know if any of you guys have been there, but overclocked remix has some really good chrono trigger remixes and i think some of them would fit right in and give an updated, yet classic feel to the remake. see what you think.
www.ocremix.org
of course, you'd have to get permission from the artists who made them, but i'm sure they wouldn't mind

Yup, we are all big OCR fans here. We may ask a few people to see if they can contribuite to our game, some of those songs are really good ambient songs.

Remixes are good, but I like the original music better, I don't know why but I just do, it sounds more "Nintendoey" when its remixed, its like trying to make a great thing even better, but tripping and falling smack on your face.
Thats just my opinion but I do think remixes are alright.

I think remixed themes would be cool, but they shouldn't stray too far from the original music. Just be something in an MP3 format that takes the original sheet music for the themes and plays them with an orchestra.
I can obtain sheet music of all the CT and CC themes, as well as a few from Radical Dreamers (the ones that weren't orchestrated in CC).
I also have a very good composer friend who is currently working on a fan game.
If you want to hear some of her work go to www.hero6.com.
it's been in production for several months, probably 2+ years, and still going strong, but the home stretch is almost there. I'm sure Brassfire would love to work on something simpler like teching up old CT themes.

I didn't really look at this post before. But this reminds me... I happen to have alot of CT midis. Since I am creating a game myself, I collected quite alot of them. You may or may not want them, but they seem to be quite accurate when compared to the music from the game itself.
If you guys want to take a look at them, just say the word. But be sure to give me something to send it to. ;)

I think a good idea would be, for battle themes, use remixed music, and for world themes, use the original, just imagine what it would be like for a second and give some thoughts.

How would it be, if you would let the player choose if he wants the original music or the remixes?
So everybody can choose for himself what style he likes best...
