Hey, I would just like to clear something up.
The Devs DO look at the boards, I happen to look at the boards multable times a day, but do not have the time to reply.
Regarding the New Game++ I dont see any reason to have it...
Why do we want a ++ after you beat the game with more minigames? It is a much better use of time to add the mini games/extra quests/extra items in the normal part of the game. We are planning to have: Before you start a new game you choose weather you want to play the 'enhanesd version' or the 'origional', the enhansed has all the new stuff.
So keep postin, we are reading!

Didn't really feel like logging in...
No problem here really I suppose. As you may or may not remember, New Game++ was brought up merely because some people wanted the game to be as close to the original as possible; and with that, it could remain so... and all the ideas could be added to new game ++.
Having all the additions in just the normal version of the game would be better anyway, since they ideas could be added with ease. The only problem I could see arise is that some of the more... traditional CT fans may not like that we added the updates straight into the game.

That is why we will have an option at the begining of the game for people to play the unaltred version for all the hardcore CT fans.
New Game+ will still be there, and we may even do New Game++ and make the monsters alot harder.
I would also like to add a 'Hard Mode' that would be avaliable if you beat the game, you would start the game as normal, but it would be really hard.

Interesting... but having an altered and an unaltered version will, in effect; do the same thing as a normal new game and new game ++ would do. The only true difference is the fact that you give them the choice at the beginning of any new game. Still, I can see where that would be easier to implement (and use).

I really, really feel like an idiot right now. I've played through all of CT (I thought, anyways...), gotten most of the side quests completed, etc. Basically, I know the feel of the game very well (I played it first back in '97 - I was 13 or so, hence I have a passionate nostalgia for the game world).
I don't know what New Game + is. Is this an additional quest or something in the game or is it a mod-only development that I somehow phased out of reading about?
Thanks for any response.

Ack!!!! How could you not possibly know what New Game + is if you've played the game THAT long!!! Ok, simply put; New Game + is basically restarting the game, with all of the items, and experience you had when you beat the game. In other words... you beat the crap out of all the bosses...
To get New Game +, you must beat the game with the "perfect ending". To get the "perfect ending" you must end the game after beating all of the sidequests. Hope that clears some things up.

Thank you, Apoc. I needed that; while I had some idea of what it was, now I know for sure. Ok, I've decided that for the good of my knowledge of this game, I should play through it all over again just so I can try and get "New Game+" mode activated. Then play through that (great...).
Furthermore, in my opinion, unless there are extremely redeeming features to it, I think a "++" mode isn't necessary. In my humble "player-type" opinion, I think the main game should simply be a great remake, and you can leave even the idea of this out in the open until further along on the project. Yeah, well, that's my two cents, anyways. Thanks.

As for making the enemies tougher, I believe that we could include different difficulty settings as an option from the beginning. That way, CT vets and people weaned on PC games who download the mod can both get their...errr...download's worth.
Knives101 - April 15, 2004 01:33 AM (GMT)
 If you have difficutly settings it would only have to effect the enemys, and it would have to effect them alot, because of the newgame+ feature I mean. Your characters keep there stats and all plus items, would give the enemys a serious dissadvantage.

No kidding. Although it is kinda fun being in like a god mode. lol
