Title: Chrono Break / Chrono Brake
Description: An interesting, but pointless theory...
GalaxyFalcon - March 23, 2004 10:14 PM (GMT)
ok well here goes.
There is an interstnig fact about the Chrono games. In Chrono Trigger, the name implies that That there is a Chrono Trigger, this is dealing with the storyline, as well as there being a Chrono trigger, or the time egg, an item.
In Chrono Cross, the name implies...well, 'Cross' you cross demensions in the game. as well as there being the 7th lost element, the 'Chrono Cross' See where this is going?
one of two names:
Chrono Break, well if this is what it will be called then there is an intersting theory to go with it. Break will probabbly refer to a storyline plot. The Chrono (or time space continum) Could, well, Break, and you need to repair it. There might be an item, the Chrono Break, but i have to idea what it would be for or look like
Chrono 'Brake', Well...what is a brake? by definetion, i think we will come to think of it as a Car Brake, or somthing that halts. So...if the name is Chrono Brake, the game might revolve around Time Stoping, and you must restart the flow of time, or un-jam it. The Chrono Break item would probbably be they key to this, you might have to 'flip' or activate, or release, the break. possibly by placing the item somewhere.
Well i dunno, i think it is an interesting idea. Let me get some feedback on it! =)

Interesting theories... I've had similar ideas. It makes me wonder though... if Chrono Break/Brake ever does come into existance... could it possibly ever rival Chrono Trigger?

 Wow... never even thought of that. If it does come out wonder if they'll include anything from CC as well as CT.
GalaxyFalcon - March 26, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah, like you where say Apoc, if they did it right, it would rival Chrono Trigger. Yeah, they'll prolly mention somthing from CT and/or CC, but as to the depth, we man never know
WolfPack - March 27, 2004 09:28 PM (GMT)
Knowing Square, it'll probably be something like the content of ct in cc, small and just enough to tie the game in.
Chosker - March 29, 2004 07:56 PM (GMT)
if done well it could surely be better than CT, because although CT is a great game, it's kinda traditional gameplay-wise, there's alot room for improvement
that, and the fact that music and graphics have now alot more room to improve
now of course, they just need a great story, but square has proven to be able to do it... just as they've proven to be able to make it crap :D but the chrono games (IMO, CC was really good too), had a great story
that is... if done well, but for that it needs to be done first :D and I'm just hoping but not really expecting

Naw. I think any ways square will make it, it'll just turn out as crap. I mean, lol, look at their record.

Yeah seriously, Squaresoft has been going down the hills lately. But... you never know, they might get back up there with Chrono Brake. It COULD suck... but it could possibly be an incredible game.
Well at the end of Chrono Cross (if you got the good ending... don't read ahead if you didn't finish the game) the time goes back into one timeline. Where we will safely go by in time, and then in 1999 the Trigger that Crono set will happen (Crono and party appearing here, even though he died long ago, just to kill Lavos and let the world be peaceful). So the Trigger is set, and the Cross it mended back together... so we will safely be going up to the one timeline where Lavos is going to die.
But wait... our peaceful future (one where hopefully this time, Chronopolis won't be built) is reliant on the Trigger that Crono set. But uh-oh... what if something breaks that trigger???!!! Key word being BREAK the trigger.
For example, Lavos's plan A and plan B both failed. So now his plan C will be to break the Trigger. He sees what is going to happen in 1999 thanks to Crono and Serge (Serge for keeping it that way). He sees that he's gonna rise up, but Crono comes to screw the plan. SO... he will set up a trap for Crono. Maybe he will call something from his home planet (another porcupine being) to come and merge with him to make a much more powerful force, one that no human being (or 3 human beings for that matter) can possibly face up to. So Crono is going to arrive in July of 1999 to stop Lavos... but Lavos's friend will arrive at JUNE of 1999. And in July, just before Crono and Friends arrive, they will merge.
So your task will be to first discover what is going to happen, which will be taking place the whole story. Then you will have to go to JUNE of 1999 and fight this friend of Lavos BEFORE they merge together. However, you need Belthasar to create a machine to allow you to travel to that era, because... as of now, there will be no source of time travel. When he's almost done, he has an experience that makes him go into a fatal coma. You need the Chrono Break to save him from the Coma, and then he'll finish this third Epoch for you. Then you go, fight Lavos's friend before they merge... and phooey for Lavos... he cannot stop Crono and his friends now. The Trigger is revived... YAAAAAAY!
Ok that's a posibility, but I think that Squaresoft will make the story MUCH more complicated than that.
WolfPack - April 13, 2004 03:33 AM (GMT)
Everything is complicated with square. lol.
