not that the sketches are bad (they are great IMO), but why are these needed, when the references can be used? specially for things like the Epoch or Ozzie
I think this kind of sketches would be more needed if the style of the characters was to be changed (
hint hint)

Official art of CT is sort of scarce.
Especially for most of the enemies in the game, including bosses.
256x223 is the SNES resolution - which doesn't leave much room for detail.
Artists sketch out more detailed renditions of stuff from the game, so that the modellers have good reference to work from.

Wow, those are great!
And yeah, I agree, these will come in handy. There's only so much you can do with a tiny pixelated 2d image.
Keep up the good work, man.

Alezunde: I know the snes doesn't have a big resolution (I mean, I played CT :D )
what I mean, is that there are plenty of pics out there (see
this thread), which is why I think sketches are not needed for alot of stuff (but needed for anything that's not found a pic of)

Well, not sure if you want me to post here or not but here is my first monster sketch I have done for the modelers. Tell me what I should fix on it. I hope you remember who this monster is: There were 2 of these you had to fight with that big security bot.
Here is the original sprite:

Oh and by the way, nice sketches Emanuel. I really like the Jetbike.

Wow - these sketches are all looking really very nice BTW. :)
I'm impressed.
Chosker:
The Dev Team intends to model everything from CT.
There's not nearly enough official art to do that with.
Chrono Trigger really didn't have that much official art that was released.
Especially when you consider the sheer number of monsters that are in the game.
On top of that, the modellers will have much more than just monsters to model.

I agree, all art should be greatly accepted. It all goods to me!

Alright, unless I'm wrong, since the team will be needing sketches for modellers (and those were EXCELLENT, Emanuel - not too anime-ish for my tastes, strangely enough! :D ) in 2D views. The front view and side view are very important in Maya (I think). What you can do to model is simply lay them out on the axis. Then just carve out polys according to the drawing.
So for any other guys interested in making sketches (not that talented myself) I think the team would be appreciate front, side, and top views (oh boy, x,y,z! Makes sense... haha) the most.
Am I right, modelers? Let me know if you think I'm an idiot and I need mental help. Thanks.
Regardless, all awesome sketches, gentlemen!
