I just don't understand why SE would do this. A high quality remake of a classic 16-bit game increses awareness of their product, and it doesn't take anything away from them.
You guys aren't making a profit or anything.
Issuing a C&D makes me not want to support them. It just seems counter-productive to hand out Cease & desist order to such dedicated, talented fans.
Seriously, what a bunch of assholes.
I'm so sorry for all the people that spent so many hours working on this project. You guys deserved better. :(

Welllll, this really does suck. Sorry guys....but there is good news. i am still redoing the entire soundtrack (from scratch this time). Its gonna take some time but Im determined. AND im also doing the final fantasy 6 (3 US) soundtrack after. These are projects ive wanted to do for a long time anyway and i found this project an opportunity to put the work to use. Sorry bout this news guys. LETS JUST HOPE SQUARE ENIX MAKES A REMAKE!!! thats gotta be the only good reason for this. they gotta do SOMETHING with chrono, but hoo nozz......

Well guys, it's been an incredible time what can I say :D But you know, even though CTRP isn't gonna happen, we've accomplished something. You know what we did? We spoke up for the community. Maybe now SE really realizes how much people love the Chrono series. Maybe now they'll finally decide to do something with it.

We haven't talked about what to do next, if anything, yet. But we did have an idea once for an original RPG, maybe plans for that can come through.

Regardless, I need to take a break. It's been a hell of a lot of fun making stuff with the team, and showing it to everyone else, but I need to take a break for real life.

The legacy of CTRP will live on forever, even if it was never finished.

LOL, I would've been banned until the 21st and then came back and nothing would be here........although that wouldn't be very funny :( At least you guys can still put your talents forth to other incredible projects. wow...., words, I was just on here yesterday. I haven't really posted anything but I have been looking at this forum forever now. And just a minute ago, about 5 I was on the Chrono Resurrection site, and forum. Then I thought to myself, well atleast we still have Chrono Trigger: Remake Project, well I came to the site and there it was, a letter from the team, about a cease and desist letter they just got from square. Words can not explain how (I dont care, you can ban me from the forum) SPAMing mad I am right now. Square-Enix has dashed my dreams of a Chrono Trigger remake...again. Reason? Unknown, maybe they are just greedy SPAMers who think they can make all their money with the Final Fantasy series, well I hope they know, the series is going head first into the ground (much like I did the Friday before last, got stitches and all). Their fate will be worse than mine however. Final Fantasy is pretty much the only thing they got going for them at the moment, they need to stop depending on one series. A chrono trigger remake better be made by Square Enix. Even so why did they stop you guys later when you have done alot of work? To piss you straight off? I am done complaining, SPAM square those SPAMing idiots.

Argh, I knew this was probably going to happen, but I was just getting my hopes up for the past 2 months thinking maybe they let this one slip through? Well guess not, and stupid squeenix better have something in store for all of us chrono fans, and those final fantasy haters out there that might not have played chrono trigger or chrono cross. Well I can't say it hasn't been fun, because it was, being part of this community, met some very nice people (intelligent too, :blink: ) and we all chased one dream of reliving CT in 3d, but I guess that just might not happen for a very looong time. Well if the CTRP team (what is going to be left of it, not meaning this in a rude way) is going to make another rpg, you have my support. Of course I'm going to stay in the forums, hell, everyone would miss me too much....well ok not really but :P. Well I'm sure everyone is hating the C&D letter squeenix has given the team, but at least we can be proud to say squeenix is paying attention to us chrono fans. We wanted their attention and we got it. Maybe not in the way we wanted to but hey, it's better than nothing. Just hopefully Squeenix can finally find that old dusty brain switch to turn on their genius mode, because they really need it right now. Well good luck to the future. Someone up in the company had to go to the internet and type www.chrono-trigger.com on his computer. he then went through the entire site and possibly the forum and gave the orders for the C&D. The only greater honor that could possibly be awarded to CTRP would be hiring the team to work in an official remake of the game (I'd do wonders with the char's feet) but seeing that the gaming company can only do crappy games nowadays, it will probably not happen so,

I just want to say two things, one to the team, hope you guys have fun with your next game. And one to square enix. I just want to kick square enix in the face, can't let a little mod live they had to kill it. Well, I hope square, that your future projects go down in hell,....okay I dont mean that because I like final fantasy :(, chrono is a hell of alot better, maybe if you stopped paying so much attention to the money your getting, you can see that alot of people want Chrono back, your making a bunch of games, why would Chrono be hard? I agree, but a Chrono Trigger remake is what I have dreamt about since the rise of the ps2. It's been a while, and since it's the best game that was EVER created to date, I really wanted to play it in 3D. I will no doubt play future games from the team, if any are created, and I will try and help if I can. I was gonna apply for a job on the forums today too :(. This is the worst thing that can ever happen, why wont they let anyone make a chrono trigger remake. Perhaps, I should learn some gaming language and make a chrono trigger remake project for my team, I want a chrono trigger remake more than the next guy, even if that means making it all by myself, I can use it to get into the gaming industry. I really can't wait to here more about this, it will more than likely piss me off more than this already has, details tend to do that, but I want to hear the details, even though they will cause more spamming, well unless I see the models (some) of magus :D. Anyway, hopefully we will get to see the model of magus....or the Prophet (yes I know it is magus). I would love to help too, but Im not to sure what i could do, other than being a middleman sence most of my friends have limited access to the internet.. also I might be able sit down with my friends and do some writing, I do have good taste in video games... hey im here after all!
