I don't think any of the proposals for lower Manhattan have been as "terrorist safe" as they could be.

None of the proposals seem to answer the question of how firefighters will fight a fire & rescue people in a 1000ft tall building if the same thing were to happen again. There has been too much emphasis on the art and not enough on deterance and disaster control prevention, and supression. I mean, if you just go ahead and build another tall tower without considering what will happen if it's hit by a plane again then you're just building another target. I don't know all the laws and building regulations but maybe there is a way to build a tall structure while making it less inviting to the same kind of attack. I do know solely ground level exits are a mistake.

I'm no architect, but I have an idea for a smarter & safer design that would still allow for a tall building. Of course, it would have to conform to all building codes and the concept be properly developed by a professional architect, but here it is:

btw- firefighters would be able to fire water cannons from all levels of the minerets onto the main structure. In a terrorist attack similiar to 911, the most likely target would be the main structure, so firefighters could fight the fire in my proposed building from the safety of the minerets which would, in all likelyhood, remain intact and fire free.
