My name is Sarah. My birthday is July 25, 1983.

I started having Epilepsy when I was 3 1/2 years old. I had Grand Mals when I was 3 1/2. I had Grand Mals from 3 1/2 to 6 years old. When I was 6 I had Complex Partial.

Then my mom read an article about the Vagus Nerve Stemulator. She went to the seminar. The doctor who did the speech is now my doctor. His name is Dr. Phillip Pearl. He is with Children's Hospital.

When I saw him I had a lot of testing done. I had a Video EEG, an Itcal Spec Video EEG, an MRI, a CAT scan and a Funcitional MRI. I also had a WADA test done. After all of my testing I was Capable to have Brain surgery. I had brain surgery on February 24th, 2000. My last seizure was on February 21st 2000. I was 16 1/2 when I had my surgery. I had Epilepsy for 14 years.

I was on several different Medicines.

Now since my brain surgery I am doing more things now. I am going to the mall more to have fun. I meet up with friends. My grandfather says that I'm doing things now that I should of done when I was 18.

This year I am walking in the Nation Epilepsy Foundation Walk on the Nation Mall in Washington, DC in March. You can donate money if you would like at my link to my page.

Today I am 9 years seizure free. On Tuesday feb 24th I will be 9 years from brain surgery.

I have friends who had seizures and they scared the crap out of me so I don't know what is was like for them but I'm glad your free of them.

Sarah, how do you know when you're having a seizure? What are the symptoms? I personally have moments where I see thing in emboss and start feeling like I am about to black. I don't understand why I get like that or as to what causes it. Any help will be great appreciated. ^_^

In February 2010 I will be 10 years seizure free and 10 years from brain surgery. I'm titively thinking abot having a party at my granfathers around my anniversary dates.

I'll whip up some music to play. No Tokusatsu of course. And I got your gift for that planned out in my head. I just have to execute it.

Next month on Feburary 21st I will be 10 years seizure free and on Feburary 24th I will be 10 years from brain surgery. Most of you all know I'm having a party at my grandfather's on Feburary 6th. I just wanted to tell everybody else. I am very thankful to be seizure free now.

And I can't wait for the party. Got to talk to Melanie about what we're bringing.
