They revived it in the 90s as Extreme Ghostbusters where Egon mentored four college students and took on horrifying creatures. Even had a two-parter where Ray, Winston & Peter came back and helped Egon & his students deal with two different paranormal pests.

Those ghosts that eat metal and then multiply whenever one or more get caught. The OGBs & the EGBs worked together to trap them.

I remember the cartoon from the '80's VAGUELY. I never knew a '90's one existed. Just goes to show how little I pay attention..lol.

Because it was Summer and there were times where my alarm clock wouldn't wake me up in time.
They did keep the fact that Slimer joined the Ghostbusters and gave a reason for his name.

There was none with a monkey. But there was Slimer & The Real Ghostbusters.
