Title: Power Rangers TURBINE
ShockWave Ranger - January 23, 2004 08:18 AM (GMT)
Power Rangers TURBINE
Thousands of years ago on a planet far beyond intergalactc dimensions, a tribe of magical and mystical beings known as the Zen Fairies have fought against an evil force called the Insectoid Order and sealed them in hydrogenic chambers, spreading them far throughout the reaches of space. Now in the year 2190, the Order escapes from their imprisonment due to its weakening from a solar chemical somewhere in space, and find themselves secretly stranded on Earth in a futuristic international city called Highland Falls, intending once again to wreak havoc on innocent civilians and to seek revenge on those responsible for their imprisonment.
Karisma, the youngest descendant of the Zen Fairies, is the only being capable of finding and defeating the Insectoids. With her wizardry and the scientific inventions of Dr. Archie Reyes III, she helps bring together seven college students at Highland International University, known for their martial artistry and athleticism. During their childhood, Karisma (at the young age of 11 at the time) had secretly showered them with Zen Powers, powers based on turbine-operated vehicles, enabling them all to see and hear her. She gives them all these powers to save the world once again from total destruction from the Insectoid Order, continuing the tradition and legacy of the Power Rangers as Team TURBINE, warriors of super humanoid speed, strength and intelligence.
ShockWave Ranger - January 23, 2004 08:20 AM (GMT)
Now note that I posted this again from my Elite teams thread so that this guide can become more of a story later (well, let's make it a cross between a story and a play, where the dialogue merges into the story).
ShockWave Ranger - January 23, 2004 08:41 AM (GMT)
The Rangers
Monique Madeleine Reyes (Turbine Red)
Age: 17 Hometown: Manila, Philippines Position: Team Captain
As a Philippine-born college sophomore transfer student and the youngest of the team, she became the Red Ranger for her bravery and her expertise in the Chinese martial art of Tai’Chi while being captain of the university softball team. Even though she never backs down from life’s biggest challenges, she’s also a beautiful lady with a very caring, loving, high-spirited and friendly personality.
Nikolai Cassopolis Oxford (Turbine Navy)
Age: 20 Hometown: Arad, Romania
Born in Athens, Greece, his wonderful skills in soccer and his furthering studies in the martial art of Aikido relocated him to relatives in Romania before coming to Highland International as a transferring junior. Somewhat shy, he always shows the true meaning of teamwork.
Marvin Dewayne Henderson (Turbine Blue)
Age: 20 Hometown: Austin, Texas Position: Secondary Commander
Originally from Austin, he and his brother moved to Highland Falls for huge scholarships in the school’s athletic program. Marvin is an eccentric basketball star studying the art of Tae Kwon Do and is an expert at making people laugh. He attends school as a college junior.
Alexander Vermont Henderson (Turbine Purple)
Age: 22 Hometown: Austin, Texas
Like his younger brother Marvin, Alex (known to his fellow football players as “A. Note”) came to school from Austin on a scholarship as sophomore quarterback for the football program. He began studying Karate as a hobby and later made the transition towards self-defense and discipline. He’s the other half of the comic genius duo, but he, as well as his brother knows seriousness when they see it.
Javier Gustavo Fernandez (Turbine White)
Age: 18 Hometown: Guadalajara, Mexico
He came from Mexico to Highland Falls as a renowned freshman track and field superstar, ranging his expertise from running to the pole vault and javelin throw, which later strengthens him for the martial art of Ju Jitsu. He at first became an outsider at school until he met his new fellow Ranger friends and becoming the White Ranger.
Bryan Geoffrey Johnston IV (Turbine Sky)
Age: 21 Hometown: Manchester, United Kingdom
Like Nikolai, Bryan was born and raised in a wealthy Greek family household in the UK, but became a legendary college wrestler in his own right before transferring as a sophomore to Highland International. He’s the strongest of the Rangers and sometimes rebellious of his family’s wishes and riches, yet he never lets go of his family or his new friends, Team TURBINE. In his spare time, he practiced the art of Kendo before making the transition as the Sky Blue Ranger.
Stephan Xiang Yin (Turbine Cyan)
Age: 22 Hometown: Beijing, China
Born in Beijing, China and raised by his aunt and uncle in Hong Kong, Stephan spoke both fluent Chinese and English at a very early age and began a sudden interest in gymnastics during grade school, while training himself as an expert in the martial art of Kung Fu before becoming the Cyan Ranger. An outgoing and cheerful person, he came to Highland International as a transferring junior.
Coming up later--a recap of the allies, arsenal, Zords and the villains. If you have any ideas for the teams first story, "Episode 1: The Interchange Theory", feel free to post them here.
"Turbine--interchange!!!"
Ville Valo - January 23, 2004 05:43 PM (GMT)
As they say here in the Netherlands: "GAAF" (that means COOL)
ShockWave Ranger - January 23, 2004 06:34 PM (GMT)
Thanks! You have any ideas for the first story? It should start with the Zen Fairies on the human-unpronunciable planet the size of Jupiter with the Zen fairies being small. Karisma captures the Insectoids after her race and family was destroyed, and then goes out to Earth in civilian form (at a pre-teen age) to find a group of kids, who later become Rangers, with extraordinary martial arts and sports talent, along with Dr. Reyes, one of the inventors of the team. She gives them powers which not only enables them to see and hear her, but also give an magnificent gift, the ability the team to know each other personally firsthand before meeting them in college.
Ville Valo - January 23, 2004 06:57 PM (GMT)
Let me see...
Who about telling how the Insectoids and the Zen fairies are "born" (there history), How Karisma capturres the Insectoids and how the Insectoids escapes, how Karisma came to Earth and as last thing: That the Rangers wake Up with the power to morph without a Morpher (only for the first 3 Episodes) whit theire first battle against the Insectoids (and Monsters) an that they get theire First Zords in Episode 5...
ShockWave Ranger - January 23, 2004 09:47 PM (GMT)
Well, the Insectoid and Zen Fairy history might work in another story (Episode 6: Remembering the Intergalactic Past), but I don't think the "waking up powerful without a morpher" deal will work. I don't feel that fits well with the story. I make it just a little simple, having the Interchangers (their dual morphers) given to them after finding out about Karisma, their powers, and the Insectoids.
ShockWave Ranger - January 23, 2004 10:02 PM (GMT)
Karisma
Earth Age: 25 Position: Team Mentor
A young descendant of the Zen Fairies, she became the only being of her kind after her family and race were destroyed in an extreme battle with the Order. After knowing about their escape, she became determined to bring the Insectoids back into justice, being responsible for putting the Turbine Rangers together. She is only capable of being seen and heard by the Rangers themselves and is one half of inventing the team’s machinery and arsenal.
Dr. Archipelago Ferdinand “Archie” Reyes III
Age: 35 Hometown: Manila, Philippines Position: Team Mentor
Monique’s uncle and world-renowned inventor who, along with the help of Karisma, was the mastermind behind the team’s operations; he is also a professor of mathematics and sports medicine at Highland International and owns a huge campus recreational complex/restaurant he calls "The Highland International University Health Factory", the home of team TURBINE, which also houses a secret operations facility underground.
Julia Benitez Galvan
Age: 19 Hometown: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she became a freshman student meeting Stephan in the university athletic program as a floor gymnast and dancer. She also plays volleyball and is active in recording music and singing, as well as being active in the Brazilian martial art of the Capoeira; she eventually reveals to the other Rangers that Karisma saw her presence, which later led her to taking Alex’s place to heal his intensive injuries from the team’s final Insectoid battle and to become the Pink Eclipse Ranger.
ShockWave Ranger - January 23, 2004 10:20 PM (GMT)
^^^...and those, of course, were the allies. Let's take a look at the particular clothing the team wears when in civilian form:
The Gear
Turbine Jacket
A basic zipped-front patented leather racing style jacket the team wears when in civilian form to match their corresponding colors, has a shimmering “Oval T” logo on the upper right corner of the jacket, which also matches their colors, Karisma and Dr. Reyes also have one, while Julia on the other hand, is later being given one of her own as an acceptance into team TURBINE as an “honorary Ranger”
Turbine Windbreaker
A sleek oversized nylon track and field windsuit that corresponds with the Ranger’s color:
Monique-Turbine Red
Nikolai-Turbine Navy
Marvin-Turbine Blue
Alex-Turbine Purple
Javier-Turbine White
Bryan-Turbine Sky
Stephan-Turbine Cyan
Julia
Karisma
Dr. Reyes
Highland International Team Colors
Worn throughout the campus in columbia blue and silver, the entire team wears t-shirts, sports jerseys, shorts, spandex (only for the ladies of the team), etc. not only to enhance school spirit, but to show off their Ranger colors in civilian form.
Later on in the story (The "season premiere"! :P), the team gets more stuff to wear, but let's make some ideas for that later. Be sure it all involves a sports atmosphere.

ShockWave Ranger - January 25, 2004 05:38 AM (GMT)
The Arsenal
Turbine Interchangers
A pair of bracelets, which bonded together, allows the team to morph into TURBINE; one half is used as a communicator.
Morphing call: “Turbine: Interchange!!”
Turbine Zen Sabers
Turbine Mach Sabers
Swords that transform into a laser and then into the teams individual arsenal:
Red Double Talon
Navy Spiral Dagger
Blue Phaser Cannon
Purple Stunner Lance
White Blaster Axe
Sky Twin Slicer
Cyan Grappler Claw
= Super Turbine Saber
Turbine Zen Metal Armor
Worn on the arms, legs, and shoulders, the armor increases the team’s power 10 times more than usual, and gives them upgrades to their Zen Sabers. They were given the power upgrades by the Lights of Orion, which once followed the Galaxy Rangers years ago.

No, don't do that. This is just my own version I put together with a twist, remember? Just because I put up my own doesn't mean you have to dismantle yours. :(
ShockWave Ranger - January 26, 2004 03:02 AM (GMT)
^^^That, of course, would be wrong.
ShockWave Ranger - January 26, 2004 03:09 AM (GMT)
I think the differences with yours and mine is that I have a bigger team, with 3 sets of Zords, and they're battlng aganst insects, then they go through a transitional period. Here's my take on the villains I use (Mad props to GeddonZord at RangerBoard for his help in creating the baddies):
The INSECTOID ORDER
Deep in the intergalactic community was an enormous asteroid field orbiting a planet constantly shrouded in darkness years ago as a result of an extreme battle. This planet had a name unpronounceable by humans, but it was the home of a race of intelligent beings, the Zen Fairies. An alien named Mantis invaded the planet with dreams of conquest and a drive to purify the universe. Seeing the harmony of the Zen Fairies drove Mantis to exterminate them before being imprisoned by a child named Karisma, but not before he gathered samples of their DNA. Using their DNA, he created swarms of the perfect army he had envisioned. Nearly mindless, and totally loyal to him, "Mosquitrons" as he called them were superior to any human army. He then discovered he could create intelligent insects loyal to only him, thus Locusta and Swarm were born. Finally, he used the DNA on himself in order to become the perfect ruler, and became EMPERIOR MANTIS. His goals are simple: Move throughout the universe, destroying any race that dared oppose his goal--to create the perfect race collecting DNA from choice worlds. Earth just happens to be next on his list after escaping from imprisonment and being simply stranded.
Emperor Mantis
Once a alien scientist on an unnamed planet, Mantis discovered that while society was becoming more civilized, he believed that its individualistic nature would eventually destroy it, so he theorized that individuality led to war and chaos, and vowed to discover a means to remedy the situation. He settled upon one idea...An insect hive mine. Drones would be the bulk of the population, followed by supervisors and generals to command them, but all would be utterly without ambitions of their own, and all would be totally loyal to the commander of the hive itself. After discovering the race needed to begin his plans, Emperor Mantis, as he now calls himself, quickly put his plan into action. Every race not beneficial to be included in his master race' genetic matrix would be exterminated, and every race that had beneficial DNA would be harvested for its qualities. Mantis is a terrifying figure to behold. Standing around ten feet tall, he has a head resembling a Preying Mantis and a human, along with a body equally disturbing. Half of his body is as it once was, human, the other half like a humanoid insect, complete with an exo-skeleton due to the fact that Mantis is still purifying himself of his old DNA. For every race's DNA added to his genetic matrix, more of Mantis' old form disappears. Mantis hides this obvious weakness by wearing something resembling a gigantic Preying Mantis. None of his creations know what their leader really looks like.
Locusta
Locusta was created using the best DNA from every warrior race and predator animal so far encountered. Locusta has dark green skin, dragonfly-like wings, and the tail of a scorpion. His face is that of a handsome human male since Locusta often acts as ambassador to various worlds, in hopes of conquering them peacefully. When battle strikes however, Locusta's mask snaps into place, replacing his normal face with that of a menacing predatory creature with gleaming reptilian eyes. In addition to his tail stinger and claws, he wields a large sword he calls SCOURGE into battle. This sword is coated with a strange chemical that slowly transforms anyone struck by it into Mosquitrons loyal to the Emperior. Locusta is clever, patient and intelligent, and will not hesitate to make decisions to benefit the Order.
Swarm
Swarm has two forms, one resembling a gigantic winged mutant insect, and the other a cloud of hundreds of small mutant winged insects. Swarm is bad-tempered and impatient, and prefers to attack first and ask questions later. He was the first attempt by Mantis at creating an intelligent life form, and it shows. However, Swarm is completely and totally loyal to the Insectoids, and acts as both commander to the dragon-fly like creatures used by the Order as an air force, and as monster-enlarger by biting the target.

ShockWave Ranger - January 30, 2004 01:31 AM (GMT)
I'll be working on some art for the Rangers to give you an idea on what their suits should look like, but here's a somewhat good description of them to let you fully understand:
-The suits are designed to resemble a cross between TurboRanger and the Titanium Ranger from Lightspeed Rescue, except there will be no shoulder gauntlets. The top portion of the suit will have the Titanium Ranger's design, but a slight thicker and outlined with lighter colors of the Rangers, and will have a basic "Circle T" logo in the middle of the chest.
-All of the Rangers' boots and gauntlets will resemble those from the Quantum Ranger, except they'll be navy instead of black, and their Interchanger Morphers will be built in, like the Time Force team.
-Monique's Red Ranger suit will have a built in skirt on the bottom portion. All of the Rangers' will have white racing stripes, while along with Monique's Red Ranger suit having the same design, the skirt will have inverted colors, white with red racing stripes.
-The Ranger belts will be of a mirrored color that corresponds with the Rangers as well, with an original design.
-The helmets will have an original design based on Fiveman (except the shapes will be based on triangular patterns upside down to give them a racing look), Lightspeed Rescue (the racing stripes down the middle and the visors) Ninja Storm, (the visors will open in half to reveal their faces) and Time Force (the first team to use WHITE as a visor color).
